My wife and I cannot wait to go here every summer! The Lobster rolls are wonderful as well as the fish tacos. My favorite is the Chowder, it is the best. If you are in Ogunquit in the summer you have to go here.

It’s okay, but not that special compared to others. Their lobster rolls weren’t that impressive, and their twin lobster deal wasn’t such a great deal($ 20) either. The place was a cute shack though. Service was friendly. The blueberry beer was pretty good.

How does this place not have 20 stars? It’s perfection. We’ve been back every chance we get when we have family or friends visiting New England. It’s the most quaint little shack in adorable Perkins Cove. Everyone who works here is so so friendly, the food is amazingly refreshing & delicious, and the portions are perfect. Our favorites are the whole steamed lobster(of course), clam chowder, cole slaw, crab roll, lobster roll and FISHTACOS. Oh my god how can someone make fish tacos so amazing. They consist of halibut & I was never a fan until I had them in these wonderfully made tacos. Trust me when I say they have the best lobsters in New England; we’ve spent the summer on our own personal quest of finding the best lobsters and THIS is where to find it.

Came here for lunch today and had a good time here. The lobsters here are amazingly fresh and they get them straight from the boats that are literally 100 feet away. We ordered a whole steamed lobster, lobster roll, cup of their chowder and a bowl of their lobster stew. The people there are very friendly and helpful and passionate about their food. They are only open from April through October and we were lucky to be able to dine on their last day for this season. Starting with the chowder, it is full of clams, fish, potatoes and cream. It wasn’t as thick and I had hoped and did have a good amount of oil floating on the top. I would have expected it to be more creamy and thick like clam chowder. The lobster stew was also very tasty and full of lobster meat and flavor. It too was not as thick as I would like and was oily. I think if they are able to make the stew thicker and remove the oil it would be amazing. The lobster roll was very good and tender. I really could taste a difference between the meat here and the ones in Boston. Not sure why. Maybe it is the lobsters themselves, the way they cook it, or something I cannot pinpoint right now. Same with the whole steamed lobster. It was fresh and the act of showing you your lobster before they place it in the boiling water was a nice touch. It proved to me that what I was getting was indeed fresh out of the tank. The meat was also very sweet and tender. Ours was also a female and had lots of eggs to gobble up. Not everyone likes this but to the Asian culture they are a delicacy. Definitely a place I would return to again and only 1.5 hours from downtown Boston.

Excellent lobster roll, as advertised. A little more mayo than I’m used to but that was a-okay. Chowder needed a little salt and pepper but otherwise was great. Perkins Cove is a little twee but this place really is a shack and the atmosphere is awesome if you’re into casual homey spots. We were here off season and there was no wait. I’m not sure I would stand in line for this place, but it was delicious.

Do NOT let a short wait in line deter you from the delights of this place. Comfy casual atmosphere coupled with friendly and efficient service and delicious food… You can’t go wrong! Their lobster roll is perfect, a buttered toasted roll, quarter pound of lobster meat, dressed but not smothered. And, the chowder is the best I’ve ever tasted. It has a secret ingredient(but I’m not going to give a spoiler!). They offer a lobster roll special that includes a cup of chowder. Get it!

Always the friendliest service, delicious food that comes out piping hot off the grill/steamer, and very generous portions. Price is steep but comparable to everything else on Perkins’ Cove and fair for the quality of the food. Fish tacos, hamburger, and their lobster roll combo all can’t be beat!

When my wife said we were going to Maine, I Unilocaled«best Lobstah roll» near York, ME. I was pumped to see such a highly rated place nearby. Lobster Shack is in a quaint area in Perkins Cove. Parking can be tough, but if you get lucky you can get a free 2 hour parking spot near the restaurant. Otherwise it’s a 3 hour pay lot. Once you get in, it’s all lobster from there. It was hard to decide between the Lobstah roll and chowdah special or the 2 lobsters for $ 20. Decided to go with the roll and chowdah special. Lobstah was sweet and flavorful. I had a hard time eating it because I knew I’d be super sad when it was finished. The slaw and chips were a nice compliment. The chowdah was fantastic! Had to add a little salt to flavor, but I normally like things salty. The service was excellent! The gals were very attentive and accommodating. Seating wasn’t an issue as there was plenty to go around. I will definitely come back and would recommend to anyone looking for a great Lobstah roll!

theres no need to elaborate too much as the 4.5 star is a clear sign of how solid the lobster shack is. i picked a big lobster which i devoured quickly while being trained by a local on how to properly dissect the crustacean. nice location too. the area is beautiful and quaint.

Perfect first night dinner back in my home state and a great way to introduce a first time visitor to all that is good with Maine. Here’s my rec: walk here on a beautiful night via Marginal Way. The ocean waves crashing on the beaches and cliffs is phenomenally beautiful. And romantic. Then get to picturesque Perkins Cove and The Lobster Shack and order a lobster roll and lobster dinners. Add a bottle of wine and have a great and surprisingly affordable — okay, I’m used to NYC wine and food prices — dinner. No frills décor, warm service at the counter and tables, and terrific food.

We got here right after they opened and there was 2 other parties there. Very quaint interior. Family run place. We both had the lobster roll special — lobster roll and chowder for $ 20. Chowder was good. Needed some salt. Lobster roll was delish. Roll was perfectly buttered and toasted. Lobster was sweet. Minimal amount of mayo that didn’t drown the lobster. Came with slaw(meh it was slaw) and chips. By the time we left there was a line out the door!

It’s lobsta time! Lobsta time! Lobsta time! That’s all that was running through my head as we finally arrived at our first but most anticipated stop of this Maine trip. The only lobster I’ve had previous to this trip was pretty much cheating: lobster tail that’s already been split open, prepared and dressed up ready for fork and knife at Red Lobster. I’ve never gotten had the full blown experience of taking down a lobster whole and getting my hands dirty. This was truly a memorable experience. My wife and I split the two 1 lb lobsters for $ 20 with cole slaw and corn on the cob. It was tough work getting the meat out but the lobster was amazing. Tender. Juicy. Not too fishy tasting. Just perfect. I even had some lobster shell in my hair from all the carnage but I really couldn’t care less. We had other lobster on this Maine trip but this lobster was by far the best we tried. Strong work guys.

On our first day in Ogunquit, my husband and I took a nice walk on marginal way and ended up in Perkins Cove. Such a cute little fishing area and village. While there we got hungry and UnilocalED local eateries. The Lobster Shack emerged and we went to check it out. It literally is a tiny shack. Nonetheless, the food is well worth it. They have a$ 19.00 Lobster Roll & Chowder special, so my husband and I each ordered it. I love clam chowder with creamy sauce. The Lobster Shack chowder is more of a seafood stew than traditional clam chowder, however, it’s still yummy. By far, the holy grail of food was the Lobster Roll. It was soooooooooo delicious. Nice, huge chunks of lobster meat with an appropriate amount of mayo. I hate lobster rolls that are tiny chunks swimming in mayo, this place was not that. Just writing this my mouth is salivating. Such a great and simple place.

There are Lobster Rolls, and then there are Lobster Rolls. If you crave a Lobstah Roll and you are in Portsmouth, NH; Portland, ME; or anywhere in-between this place is worth the drive. I also highly recommend getting the platter with two one-pound lobsters, steamed corn on the cob, and slaw all for $ 20! Fair warning, you will pass 17 other places with«Lobster» in the name that are easier to get to. Do Not Be Deterred! This food is worth finding a parking spot/waiting in line for. Perkins Cove is a great place to walk off lunch/dinner afterwards, too.

This is a really low key spot tucked in the back of Perkins Cove. You order at the counter and and your food comes out on trays which you carry to your table. Prices are reasonable and tipping is optional since its pretty much self service. If you are looking for one of the best Lobster Stews in the area this is the spot. Check out this super low key spot in beautiful Perkins Cove.

My wife, son and I made an off-the-itinerary stop on our trip to Boston for real Maine lobster. So glad that we stopped in Ogunquit and ate at the Lobster Shack. The town is adorable and this restaurant is the real deal. My wife and son split a 2– 1lb lobster dinner for $ 24 and I ordered a 2lb lobster for myself. Out of the water came a live lobster for me to look at before eating. The little devil looked ready to be devoured. While we waited, we split a bowl of the best clam chowder I’ve ever had. My son’s first experience with clam chowder made him a believer. The dinner arrived and it looked delicious. We worked our hands getting all of the lobster meat we could find. Best lobster I’ve had. Did I mention it’s only $ 15/lb? Best price I’ve ever seen for fresh lobster. I highly recommend visiting The Lobster Shack and indulging in their scrumptious menu. You will not be disappointed.

Jason, the owner, won’t brag about his place but I will. I just had steamers there today and I tell you they are the best! He really makes sure to get them from the best place on the coast. They were sweet, and clean with creamy bellies. I can eat buckets of these! Along with a Blueberry beer and corn on the cob, you can’t go wrong. His lobster is perfectly cooked and the sweetest I’ve had in Maine. really, and I have tried a lot of lobster places. If you haven’t had Maine rock crab before, you are in for a treat. Get the Crab roll on a homemade hotdog roll toasted in butter. HEAVEN! He has the cutest attentive staff. It is a real pleasure to go to this classic good feel, good food place. A slice of Maine at it’s finest.

For years Lobster Shack has been on the top of my list. Whenever I arrive in Ogunquit the first place I want to dine is Lobster Shack. I would come here JUST for the food. It never disappoints. Like ever. Seriously. Do you believe me? YOU’D BETTER! Because it’s really really fresh, tasty, and exactly what you think about when you dream of delicious seafood chowder, lobster rolls, and steamed clams. Not only is the food good but the family(and coworkers) that have been running the place are super nice and friendly. They remember my family and always chat it up. The location can’t be beat too; right in Perkins Cove. It’s a convenient stop during shopping and sight-seeing. GOHERENOW!

In the mood for a hot and hearty meal? Try out the Lobster Shack. Delicious clam chowder(super fresh!) or one of their seafood rolls– lobster or crab. The fish tacos are seriously good! Fresh rock fish, tender, flaky, and seasoned well, with guacamole and shredded cabbage– some of the best tacos I’ve had. Good selection of beers on tap, too. Super casual and friendly staff, this place is a great addition to a sea town.

The first stop on our lobster roll extravaganza, the Lobster Shack is a small place with long tables and boasts a menu with a lobster roll, a double, a triple and a pound of lobster on a roll. Since we had a lot of stops, our group of eight split two lobster rolls. This was during their lunch so our order came with a free cup of clam chowder. The lobster had lots of mayo and definitely tasted fresh. It was piled on some nicely toasted buttered bread. Pretty good but not the best I’ve had. The chowder was unfortunately watery and didn’t have much flavor. It was much better with some added salt, which was super cute with a painted lobster on the shaker.
