It was an interesting experience. The restaurant is down shore road enough to be out of the noise and busy sidewalks. It has a nice looking bar and an interesting setup for a dining room. On my experience, the room was very empty but the tables are set very close together that it seemed as though it would be uncomfortable on a busy night. I also did not care for the music which didn’t seem like normal dining music although it was not too distracting. The service was polite and quick, however it was a very slow night so it is hard to make a strong judgement based on this. The menu had a lot to offer with a variety of good sounding combinations making it hard to choose what to eat. The bread was good; soft and it came out very warm. The mussels veracruz were a great appetizer and served in a unique spicy sauce for the dish. The honey and jerk glazed salmon was very good although not as flavorful as it sounds. It was served with a very plain wild rice pilaf and some mango garnishing the top which was nice. The duck was a little disappointing as it was slightly undercooked and not quite crispy on the outside. The acompanying rizzoto was very starchy and tasted strongly of mushroom. Overall the food was good but not fantastic. The dessert choices were many and they sounded very good but we were too full from the meal to enjoy them. It was comfortable and quick and also it should be noted that the menu had great gluten free options which would make me want to come back with different company.

Super bon service!

Thanks fellow Unilocalers for directing me to this wonderful restaurant for a delicious breakfast. Coming from New York City, I have high expectations for Brunch and Breakfast. That being said, The Roost nailed it. I had the woodsman omelet with Wild Mushrooms and house made Chorizo. They even let me add a sauce of their chipotle hollandaise on the side at no additional charge. Topped it off with the crème brûlée french toast and I was in breakfast heaven. The 2 people I was with each got a Benedict and they LOVED it. Come here for a less crowded and delicious breakfast while in Ogunquit

We had this place on our list to visit after reading so many rave reviews. The restaurant and bar is gorgeous– but that was the extent of our positive experience. The food was just OK and the service was just plain bad. If it had been a really busy night or high season, I guess I could understand, but it was December and the place was nearly empty. We sat at the bar – it took a long time to get water and then a cocktail. We ordered an appetizer took 45 minutes to come out. Despite it not being busy, both bartenders were engrossed with conversations with regulars. We tried to wave at them as they rushed by since the bartender didn’t notice our drinks were empty(including water) and never addressed why our food took so long(2 couples ordered after us and got their food promptly.) So, I can’t say we’d go back… and it’s clear they didn’t care if we ever do! But, overall, we felt we were treated sort of badly– like they really didn’t want our business.
