Best Carnitas burrito in San Diego that I have had and that is ALOT. Ordered it with pico de gao and sour cream EPIC with all their sauce varieties that you can grab from the salsa bar. The family owners are usually there working hard and sometimes have grandma and the kids help in the kitchen. Great local gem in Oside for that«locals only» type of feel. Will post more food reviews if I can manage NOT to keep ordering that AMAZING carnitas burrito… This carnitas burrito deserves it’s own paragraph; awesome lean carnitas in bite size pieces spread perfectly throughout the tortilla, great cheesy white cheese(not sure what cheese they use), Spanish rice and refried beans, and to boot it is wrapped in two GIANTNORMOUS(yes new word) flour tortillas. Unilocalers this is my gift to you… you know I owe you one…

Hours on take out menu say deli is open till 530pm. Just walked in and was told they were closed. Despite all the raves of how good the food is, have to rate it one star because they don’t honor their hours. Guess I won’t recommend this place to others as well.

Being from Chicago and living by 26th street, which is little Mexico in itself, I am so glad to have found an equal contender. The lady who I’ve seen in here twice is just so lovely. She is great to chat with and wants to make you happy. The first time I came to get my husband some lunch and he was such a fan I decided to go back today and get myself one. Now the tortas here are just amazing. Perfect meat to veggies ratio which is very hard to find in taquerias to begin with. I will definitely be coming here as well to buy my cuts of meat when I have my house. The selection here is amazing for a mini mart. They definitely have won me over especially after finding the ever so delightful guava flavored jarrito.

Who would of thought that a Liqour Store/Deli would have some of the best Tamales, Pollo Asada, Pork and Carne Asada around! The price is 2.99 a pound for the meat. You can also grab homemade guacamole 4.99, salsa 4.99, sour cream, cheese and much more! I love their smaller tortillas that are a 1.49 a pack. The have tamales year round and they are pretty tasty! I have not tried their other menu items but there is a good selection and the prices are $ within the 1 dollar symbol! Can’t wait to throw the meat on the grill today!

Returned earlier this week with a list of stuff people wanted from the shop because I had raved about their awesome tortas and was craving it over the long weekend. I phone ordered [3] carne asada tortas, a California burrito, and a milanesa torta. These were all ready and prepared in individual styrofoam containers when I arrived. They accidentally got my order wrong and gave me [4] carne asada tortas(instead of 3), but everything else was good. Yes, I know I should have checked and noticed, but I didn’t. All I could think of was sinking my teeth into that delicious carne asada sandwich… The torta wasn’t as good as the last time, but still very good. Everyone enjoyed the food and was thoroughly impressed/satisfied. I also got like 8 bottles of Mexican cola, a bottle of Lime Jarrito, and several bags of chips. Total came to over $ 50, but you get what you pay for. Wasn’t a fan of the lime chips(name= ?)
