Hands down the best shrimp I have had in San Diego county. The largest cup they had was only $ 12 and it was a TON of shrimp. I loved it !! The margaritas though could have been better. But overall for the price and quality of food I stand with my 5 stars rating

The food was eh. Not good and not bad. I got 4 mini chicken tacos and they were seriously lacking in flavor. And the amount of onion and cilantro was offensive. The ratio of that to chicken was ridiculous. My husband got beef tacos that looked like they came from a frozen box and the cheese enchilada was weird. The enchilada sauce was orange and looked fake. That being said, the food wasn’t the worst we have ever had.

Being Mexican I am not lenient when it comes to Mexican food in southern California, especially if it’s something I can easily make at home So I was super excited to try the 1 $ street tacos here. They definitely got their street tacos down to a T. The double tortilla mini taco was over filling with meat, cilantro, onions and spicy green guacamole salsa. For 1 $ I was pretty impressed. 4 each filled us up real quick, surprisingly, we usually eat 5 or six street tacos. Definitely was worth the 1 $ and they have earned their well deserved 4 stars. –1 star for their red salsas lacking creativity. Their red salsas are too basic for me, but since nobody makes salsa like my mama that’s not a deal breaker for me. Will be dining in again sometime in the near future. Oh BTW they have live bandas come and play. On our way out a whole 8 person banda, complete with accordion was setting up to set the place on fire. So I’m guessing this place gets turn up later into the evening. We will have to come back for some beers to see. Good work!!!

Breakfast burritos here come in three kinds: ham, bacon, sausage. But actually the three taste the same cuz they’re all about 90% potato, and then a tiny sprinkling of whatever meat you chose. I still go here cuz it’s the only place walking distance from my house, but I often forget what kind of burrito I got cuz it’s basically a potato wrapped in a tortilla.

Now under new management. They did improve the interior appeal. The food has always been great and still is. New management is nice on the exterior, however NOT the family that was running it before(well, it’s his brother actually). The new management sees a gringo and his family and sees dollar signs, that or is just racist and discriminatory. Charged me $ 4.50 for a bottle of domestic beer during«happy hour» when the menu states that«normal» pricing is $ 3.29,(So $ 27 a six pack… really!!!) all the while his buddies are sitting at the bar drinking beers damn near for free. Just insulting. I live up the locally and have been there dozens of times with my whole family and dropped a lot of coin, but Nunca Volveremos! We will GLADLY spend my hard earned cash, en masse, elsewhere. Try Mariscos Ensenada in the shopping center on Oceanside Blvd and El Camino Real, or if you want to go the other direction, check out Alberto’s on Oside Blvd. Too bad«Mal Hermano,» I gave you two chances and both times you tried to exploit me. Good luck with your business without the acumen, maybe get some of your brother’s advice!

Be wary of the haters and their negative comments. Under new management and the service and food(chile verde) was very good. Try for yourself and you be the judge.

Solid place. Great people. Delicious food. Rad environment. Beer to go if you want. Fun music. California burrito is bomb. Just wish it was open later.

All those that wrote negative reviews about this place obviously have have NO idea of what real mexican food is supposed to taste like! You probably think Taco Bell is real mexican food… Being Mexican, I am very picky about rice and beans in particular. ANDTHISPLACE, ISBYFARTHEBESTMEXICANFOODINOCEANSIDE, and might very well be the best in SoCal. I have been coming to this place for years. I now live in San Clemente and drive(bi-monthly) to Oceanside just for this place! Thier beans are amazing! Carne asada is on point! Sea food cocktails are incredible. Everything I have had there is well above average!

If you want great tacos for a great price go here! Prices are great and the family is really nice that runs this place. It’s one of those spots only locals know about.

I’ve been visiting this place for years. It is a family operation and I have always felt like family when I come through the door. As for the food. I normally order the mini-tacos, either carne asada or carnitas. They are as delicious and tasty as you would ever want! Always made with care and served with a warm smile. Just delicious. Just a great place to get a bite to eat. It’s not fancy, it’s not posh. It’s just great food, made by lovely people. Enjoy!

Don’t be fooled by the outside… go ahead and walk in where you are welcomed by the owners. Very friendly. Menudo for my husband and Chile Rellanos for me. All very tasty. The chips are hot and fresh. The tortillas HUGE. Salsa is very good. A good stop for Sunday breakfast. Huge menu to choose from. Little salsa bar rounds out the meal. A definite go back for more type of place xoxox

A Market gets an «A» for customer service. just popped in to grab some salsa and the guy at the counter let me taste test the different salsas before i bought. I can say much about the rest of the store, but it looks like any other market. However, i did notice the wide selection of craft beers to choose from. In addition, they do have a full restaurant with an extensive menu. This place is definitely on my list of markets to get my carne asada/beer BBQ supplies.

Hey I first made a negative review with 2 stars but that was in 2012 and they since have a new name and look. I have picked up tortillas and queso there which made awesome quesadillas since then. Just gonna remove that negative review, you can try it, it could be great, and maybe it’s just me. They are very nice people and I don’t run a kitchen, so give them a try, because they do, and they work hard, and the more business they get, the better they can be. and may actually be awesome now. I’ll give 3 stars simply to be neutral

One of the most friendly convient stores and carniceria in Oceanside. Family owned business that keeps me coming back over and over. I usually come here for last minute shopping but sometimes can’t resist getting a bite to eat. They sell just about everything you could need: food, beverages, pet food, cleaning products etc… The food is all home made everyday! I am hooked on the carnitas torta which I can’t finish in one serving usually. Their street tacos are yummy as well and only $ 1 a piece. The layout of the store is a bit confusing so thats why I took off one star. Everytime I buy firewood from this place the owners kids always take it to my car for me… tip them a buck if you can but not required. Once again the owners are absolutely fantastic people and go out of their way to help you out however they can!
