Got a lunch time to-go order of baked mussels, Spicey Tuna Roll & a Bento Box of Teriyaki Salmon… all were delicious, well packaged and ready for pickup when I arrived. Price wise I have no complaints either. I plan on going back. Highly recommend.

My husband and I discovered this place last year when it was still fairly new. The prices here are more than reasonable, and the sushi is great! This is the only place we will go for sushi. My favorites are Lovely Gloria and Hawaiian. You won’t find this good of sushi for that good of a price just anywhere.

My friend brought me here and I was not expecting anything special because well. Oceanside isn’t well known for their food. To my surprise, this place is amazing! I don’t really eat fish, but when I do I eat salmon. We got the Alaska, Philadelphia, and rainbow roll! They were so fresh and good! The baked mussels were the best I’ve ever had. So delicious! Definitely will come back here for my sushi fix. The staff are also very friendly which is always a plus!

2nd time in since they moved. Food has improved since my last review I’m happy to say! The owner is always so happy & sincere to see customers which is really nice. The New restaurant is very nice and a nice upgrade from the hole in the wall it was located before. I’m happy to say well be back soon!

Came here for a surprise birthday party for my cousin the other night. Her boyfriend reserved the whole restaurant for us-party of 50 I think it was. She was definitely surprised-it was cute too… story time… Angelica was blindfolded, lights were off, Randy took off her blindfold she was surprised and started crying(lights were still off) some cousins started singing that John legend and Megan Trainor song(everyone was crying-lights still off) he confessed his love for her, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him and her reply was«of course» lights finally on… everyone was happy even the staff haha Now on a more serious note… it was my first time here… The food: I ordered the sashimi and man oh man each type of fish was cut perfectly and each piece was so fresh to taste. The presentation was also impeccable-it added a nice touch to my dining experience. My niece ordered their house ramen and she devoured that huge bowl-I didn’t get a taste of it but she said it was delicious. It was so crowded there was sushi everywhere and every order I saw looked absolutely mouthwatering so I’ll definitely be back to try out some more menu items. The staff: they were pretty overwhelmed I’m sure, there was a ton of us but they did an awesome job and really did cater to our needs. The sushi chefs were so quick too. Kudos all around.

Fantastic hidden gem in Oceanside… Great sushi value for the price. The Lovely Gloria, Hawaiian, and Lemon Flash are our favorites. The staff is always friendly and service is always prompt. The food is always delicious. Our only gripe is… TAKEDOWNTHEVALENTINE’S DAYDECORATIONSFROMTENMONTHSAGO! The cheap dangling hearts taped to the ceiling need to go.

Me and my wife are regulars here, and we love it! One of the chef’s is the owner and cares about the place a lot, he will go out of his way to correct a mistake if needed. The sushi rolls are the biggest and fullest around town for the price, and you definitely get what you paid for. The waitresses are amazing, with that said I would like to point out that no one is perfect but they try really hard all the time! I’ve been to many sushi places around and Go Go Japan that’s across the street has nothing on this place! It did take me a while to find some items on the menu I like due to how picky of an eater I am. I hate to tell you guys how awesome they are because I don’t want the secret about how awesome this place is to get out :).

The restaurant has a nice fusion between modern and traditional Japanese design. The menu is rather large, leaving me with an uncomfortable amount of choice in what I wanted to eat. Luckily, the lunch special menu, a single page, caught my attention, and I was able to chose a two roll special without having to gloss through the other, ginormous, menu. For lunch time meals it is crucial that there be a simple, quick way to dine, and Waraii Sushi provided that. As far as food goes, I ordered a Philadelphia roll and a Dragon roll, and I played about $ 12. The flavors were good, but not amazing. I enjoyed my meal but was not blown away. Waraii sushi works as a great date location, or a place to meet up with colegues to discuss pertenant issues over a few rolls of delicious, savory sushi.

9÷9÷15 Update: the soy sauce packets have changed since my initial visit and they contain high fructose corn syrup. Perhaps a 1-star is harsh… Bottom line is that the key ingredients should not be swapped out for poorer quality, just because it’s «a little cheaper.» Swap out for cheaper napkins or chopsticks(which appeared to be great quality, quadruple-ply and non-splintery) but don’t eff with the rice, fish, nori, or soy sauce. Lastly, for two entrées at $ 47, I should get some quality soy sauce packets. — — — — — — – Although it wasn’t particularly packed when I came in tonight(Monday 8÷16÷15 @ 7:15pm), the waitress seemed really stressed, so I didn’t want to ruffle any feathers by mentioning this… However, I was trying to call in a to-go order and your phone is going straight to voicemail.

My friends found this sushi location and I was excited to try some where new. It was a huge disappointment. First Impression: Cute place, actually. I had high hopes for this little place. It is a small place so I wouldn’t bring a big group here. What went wrong: The menu is kind of lack luster for me. There were a lot of rolls with the California Roll as it’s base. Not only am I not a big fan of that roll, but I have always thought that it was to sushi what peanut butter and jelly is to sandwiches. It was a big disappointment for me. I tried the lemon roll — I tasted more lemon than fish. tried the«Sexy» roll, which was fish with cucumber wrap — The fish was not flavorful and tasted old. My friend got the Beef ramen and he said that it was delicious. I didn’t try it, Had I reached over for a taste, I think that he would have smacked my hand. Lastly, our server came with a heap of attitude and lack of any personality. Maybe she received some bad news before her shift, but she was not at all pleasant. I don’t know if I would be back. Only if someone else really wanted to go. Otherwise it was a miss and with so many other options in San Diego… why go back?

The place was is pretty nice but parking can be limited if if the other places are busy. We were able to sit down right away when we walked in on a Sunday evening. They had a really nice selection of specialty rolls and regular rolls. I ended up getting the spicy tuna, spicy tuna tempura and a California roll. All of them were pretty decent size and decent price. The sushi came out quickly so we didn’t have that long of a wait. Over all a nice place and decent sushi!

This place is GREAT. My wife and I were celebrating her birthday this weekend, and our dinner was so good on Friday night that we came back with some friends on Sunday. The sushi and sashimi were incredible, but for me the real star of the show was the Korean beef ramen. For ramen enthusiasts and soup freaks like me, this thing is the Holy Grail. A HUGE bowl of spicy, delicious ramen soup with beef, chicken, a whole hardboiled egg(!!!), and who knows what else for $ 6.50. I had it twice this weekend, and it was even better the second time. If you order it, be prepared to sweat. It is VERY spicy, but also really delicious and absolutely worth the really cheap price. The service was great, everyone was friendly, and we even got to thank the sushi chefs after our meal as well. If you’re in the Oceanside/Vista/San Diego area, drop by this place and say hi. You won’t regret it!

Great prices, excellent quality sushi, not too much rice. Great service, comfortable environment. Tons of new types of rolls I have never seen before and they serve Korean food too, cant wait to come back!

Got take out because we used to love this place. The food was not good. We got a beef teriyaki a chicken teriyaki. Disappointing. There was barely any teriyaki sauce in the meats. So dry and didn’t even eat it after one bite. We’ll just stick with Hooked on Sushi in Carlsbad from now on.

This was our first time here, the great reviews caught my attention. I’ve been in search of a good sushi spot close to our place. I have to stay the staff and service deserves 5 stars. I’ve never been served so quickly in my entire life at a sit down restaurant. There are 3 sushi chefs working behind the bar and the restaurant was almost at full capacity. We were seated quickly. I kid you not it only took about 5 minutes or less for our 3 sushi rolls to come out. We ordered special rolls not just plain easy Cali rolls or spicy tuna. The rolls were pretty good, they had great flavor and the the rice ratio was just right. If your big on spice go for the«it’s very hot roll» the spice was pretty over powering though. Almost ruins your taste buds for the other rolls. We also tried the«fire cracker» roll which was good and the ponzu sauce kept it from being too dry. My favorite roll out of the 3 was the«I love you» roll. The flavor was on point and if I had more room in my stomach I would have ordered another one. My only qualm with this spot is the décor, it was just sensory overload. It was a mixture of crazy art, different wall colors, and a throw back to nickelodeon. It’s a small restaurant and it could feel over crowded if it was full house. There is a small outdoor seating area in front of the restaurant. I would come back to try some other rolls but the rolls didn’t make a huge impression for the prices.

Great place! As always its busy, unfortunately it had a few very disgusting customers today(a first my multiple times of being here!) with absolutely no manners whatsoever. As you know, the place is cramped when you first come in, whether you’re waiting to dine in or out, you wait by the register to be seated! Which is of course, by the sushi bar — quite frankly, a simple excuse me would suffice so room can be made *** instead of having a chair pulled over your foot where you’re standing! What a classy couple! Lack of manners, we need less of that here Watch out for this wonderful couple if you ever encounter them, don’t let them spoil your meal or your experience here. Waraii is fantastic and I always recommend it to whomever I encounter looking for an inexpensive but warm/comfortable experience Go for it!

This place should be called Eel Sauce/Ponzu Sauce sushi because 21 of the 50 special rolls have Eel, while almost the entire other half have ponzu sauce. Ask for it on the side, they don’t mind too much and they are aware of the over abundance(diabetes can’t handle the sugar, not be but an excuse you can use) I liked the old location because it was quaint, perfectly staffed and just a hair closer to my house. Now it’s much bigger which makes food coming out slower. Parking is probably a little worse, but much better visibility. The change did not have an effect on the quality of food though. The rice isn’t overly sticky or acidic, maybe a little loosely packed. Chef’s are happy, but not overly friendly. The new larger space demands more attention, but they haven’t figured out they need extra staff with all the phone in orders they get. I saw a lemon roll take 3 minutes to go while my 2HR’s and 2 specialty rolls took 20 minutes, and they order to go after me. Normally it’s not that long, but the new location has new problems. All 3 of the waitress will inevitably ask if you’ve ordered while you wait for your pick up, while you may wait 4 minutes to see a menu. They need sugar on the table since they offer iced tea Yellowtail is rich and buttery, salmon is firm and fatty, good color. Oysters were not memorable. Scallops are a tad watery and a bit too firm. I’ve asked where they procure their fish, but they’ve declined to ask. Shrimp used in tempura are on the small side, not as much crunch as i’d like. Sushi bar could use 1 less seat, a little cramped. Rather than go through half the menu my favorite rolls are I love you, fire cracker, hot temptation, lemon flush and amazing and popular green tender(something about the cream cheese, shrimp and avo combo) This place is still a great value if your willing to wait, even with the«discount» I’d eat here out of proximity. I’ve eaten at the best and no they don’t compare, but there are things we have to overlook. We can’t always live in the clouds.
