Had the fish tacos. Nothing really special about it. They were good and fresh. My five year old had their fish and chips. The fish looked like something store bought and so did the fries. I don’t really know what to say about this place. I might return only to try their taco Tuesday where their fish tacos are a dollar rack. Other than that I do not think I will be back unless they really impress me on taco Tuesday. Also as a previous blogger put it. The packing is tight kind of limited.

Good soup, at least that’s what I had, nothing mind blowing. My boyfriend ordered some grilled fish tacos that were the size of street tacos. For $ 3.25 each, they were kind of a rip off. I’m not sure I would come back here unless it was during happy hour. Service was not bad, the server just never smiled. Unsettling… Maybe she was having a bad day? Who knows.

Great food, great service! Everything is so wonderful here! Pricing was a la carte, so you can build your own combo plate. The food is incredible. Wicked fresh seafood. Even the basic fish tacos were amazing. The house drink, the Tamarindo Michelada, was delicious. The whole experience was spot on!

I absolutely love coming here! The food is amazing, the waiters and waitresses are super friendly and the prices aren’t bad either. They make a deliciously refreshing michelada which is what keeps me coming back!

I had to make a Unilocal account and make my first review on this place because I am in shock. I go to this place based on the insanely high Unilocal reviews and the total amount of reviews. I decide to go on Taco Tuesday and during Happy Hour(3−6pm). The place is small but clean and modern. I see the cashier and ask her about taco tuesday, and ask for 2 fish tacos that she said were on sale plus their famous tuna fries. I pay the $ without thinking twice because I just spoke with the cashier of the discount and happy hour. I sit down to wait for my food and see in the corner high wall these prices in chalk that has a ton of the menu on it that are 40−50% off. I ask the cashier about the chart in the corner, and she says«Yeah, that’s during happy hour… only for dine in… too bad you went carry out». What the fuck… You don’t tell me about this during the order, and worse yet, after I inquire about it you don’t ask if I’d like to dine in or if I’m interested in happy hour? I’m here inquiring and she doesn’t give two shits. This girl had worse customer serivce or care than Mcdonald’s. So I just bite my lip and wait for my food. Get my receipt with it and head to my car. Look at my receipt before I leave and see she didn’t give me the taco tuesday discount either! I’m generally patient and understanding, but this is too much bullshit in one order. Go back in and ask if the taco discount is dine in discount only too, sarcastically and out loud. Cashier doesn’t say sorry and more so looks pissed that I’m standing up for her fuck up. Food was 4⁄5 stars, but smaller portions than anywhere I’ve been my entire life.

I’m updating my review, for this place. We really do go all the time. The service has also gotten better and the food is always delicious. We frequently get the ceviche and the grilled fish tacos are my favorite. Skip the desserts here, they aren’t good at all. The food is great and we’ll keep on coming back for more.

You cannot go wrong with the food here! Their tamarindo michelada is outstanding. Great service as well. Everyday there is some type of special going on. I usually come on taco Tuesday’s for the .99 cent tacos but any day is great!

Got to try this place last night everything was so fresh. So here;s what we had, both the verde and rojo aquachilies very good, but needed to be more spicy. We got a free sample of the smoked tuna, wow I really thought I wouldn’t like it, but it was damn good and we also got the happy hour rock shrimp appetizer, that was also quit tasty and very fresh. The chilada was good as well kind of sweet. We tried the Oceanside Toritos which were a little greasy but friken tasty, and a diablo shrimp tacos, which was not spicy at all :(. The refried beans were smoky and tasty, however the Mexican rice was bland and lacked flavor, it needs some help. Best of all was the super friendly and accommodating owner Oscar, he was willing to hear my suggestions on how to tweet some of the food, always like an owner who listens to his customers!!! Can’t wait to try it again.

Best fish tacos and they offer a good happy hour. Cute décor inside and awesome customers service. The entire menu is seafood(no chicken no beef). I’ve lived in the area for 1 year and can’t believe I just found this gem. Tacos aren’t that big but great variety of seafood scallops, octopus. Haven’t been dissatisfied with anything on the menu yet.

Great little place not too far off I-5 I between Sand Diego & L.A. Very fresh. Very friendly. Very Tasty. I had a Fish Taco, Octopus Taco & Chipotle Shrimp Taco. All were good. Highly recommend the Original fish taco if you’re not real seafood adventurous. Also they made us a wonderful fresh Guacamole. Worth stopping by.

I was looking for tacos and came across a review from another Unilocaler and from the pictures and description it sounded just like what I was looking for and I wasn’t disappointed. I really was in the mood for a fish taco and this time I wanted a battered fried piece instead of grilled. They are located in a moderate sized strip mall and adjacent to the main street. I got their just as they had opened so I was the first customer. They have so many delicious sounding meals but I had my stomach set on the fried fish tacos. They are relatively small so I ordered three. They make them fresh to order and they were brought out to my table. The pieces are fish were fresh tasting and didn’t have that fishy taste. They came in warm, soft corn tortillas with cabbage, tomatoes and onions with their special white sauce. On the table there is a plethora of hot sauce or you can use their own sauce they make. I highly recommend using their red sauce. It’s quite spicy and really the perfect topping for the tacos. They are just the right size and again, the flavor is amazing. Sadly, it was just me dining today so I didn’t get an opportunity to try any of the other menu items but I suspect they are just as tasty! They have an ongoing Happy Hour through the week and Wednesday it’s all day. On Taco Tuesday you can get the tacos for 99 cents and they do serve beer here. There are some big screen TV’s showing games so I can only imagine how popular this place must be on Taco Tuesday and I’ll have to come back myself to have the tacos with some cold beer and also try some of the other foods. Only recommendation I would make for the place is to serve fresh brewed iced tea and not the instant. I would have preferred to have a cold beer, but I was driving and not a good idea. Cold iced tea is the next best thing to have with fish tacos and freshly brewed is of course so much better. If McDonald’s can make fresh brewed iced tea, so should this place. But if you have a craving for some great fish tacos, this is the place to check out!

Very good! They have 99 cent fish tacos on Tuesdays. Calamari is light batter and fresh. Yum ! Smoked tuna fries are a little on the salty side but I guess it’s like their version of bacon. Fish tacos are yummy, could totally eat 3, easily ! Ceviche was delish ! It was the kind that is cooked in lemon, the traditional way, not the cooked shrimp then mix in the lemon mixture. Homemade Sangria was just eh, large serving of it but a bit watered down for my taste but we were there for the food. Flan was good, average Mexican flan. Trizanne was our waitress. She was a doll, real nice. Definitely coming back !

Since we could see the restaurant from the highway and it was convenient to get to we decided to give this place a try. You can be seated by the server or choose to place an order to go. It has a good amount of seating indoor as well as a good size bar. They also have about 7 tables for outdoor seating off to the side of the restaurant. It does have a couple of mounted heaters above. We were there during the day so I can’t tell you if it is in working condition. The outdoor tables do have umbrellas, and there are speakers mounted above as well for some festive music. We choose to sit outdoors. Our server handed us the wooded menu as we seated. In case you smell something strange, it’s the wooded menu. Just a heads up… once you place your order the menu is taken away. No biggy. So my husband and I were going back and forth on the appetizer, Smokey Tuna Fries. Unsure, we asked the server to describe it to us and that settled the dilemma. Hubby ordered the Shrimp Salad w/seltzer water. Yes, they have seltzer water! I had Fish Taco w/ice cold beer. The service, as mentioned by most of the Unilocaler’s, was friendly. They checked on you often and I was grateful for that, especially being outdoors. Sometimes you can be forgotten when it is busy indoors, and your outdoors. Smoked Tuna Fries ~ Different, but excellent. I would order it again. Shrimp Salad ~ Presentation, very nice. The dish was put together with fresh ingredients and a tasty dressing. Fish Taco ~ It was fried, but I am used to the thick battered, deep fried fish. But none the less it was tasty, and I am also used to lime with my tacos. They handed me a bowl of cut lemons instead. I worked, but next time I will ask for limes when my order is placed. The restaurant is clean including the women’s restroom. The price may be a bit higher, but for our order that day I found it worth it. We would surely return to try some other dishes.

Now this might seem kind of a far flung restaurant to visit, but if you’re ever making the trip to SD or to LA /SB county and you’re taking the 15, I think this is a nice 15 minute detour you’ll appreciate! I’m a So Cali guy by heart and I grew up eating as much Mexican as I did eating Korean food. I also had a food export business selling of all things, tortillas and churros throughout Asia. I love my Mex food! So I’m always on the hunt for a good taqueria. So this weekend my friend who has a time share at the Lawrence Well resort here near Escondido invited me down this weekend for a much needed away. Well the unfortunate thing is that the restaurant scene around the resort is nil. So we had to search a little farther and I found Miramar Seafood. So we had to drive about 15 mins from the resort to get there. Easy enough to find, so don’t worry Unilocalers. The atmosphere for a strip mall restaurant is actually really well done! Very colorful, very good use of different materials like concrete, sisal rope, corrugated steel, and bright colors. Now onto the food! We read through a few Unilocal reviewers and asked the very nice waitress for some recommendations and she said the Diablo shrimp tacos, the garlic shrimp, and the tuna tacos. Wait, what? Tuna tacos? All I could think of was this dry, bland, mayo drenched taco, but alas this was not the case. More on that later. So my friend ordered just about the same so this is a combined taste reviewed. We both agreed that the garlic shrimp taco was crazy delicious. Just enough garlic and spices to allow for good taste but not enough to overpower the shrimp taste. It was lightly garnished with unions and cilantro. The Diablo tacos were delicious but it wasn’t something that blew my socks off. But the star of the show that night was the tuna tacos. The tuna is smoked and then cooked nice and crispy on the griddle. It’s very very moist, juicy and crispy all at the same time. What’s nice too is how they cook the corn tortillas. While I didn’t see with my own eyes, it tastes like they flash fry the tortillas. It gives the tortillas a nice semi crispy texture that allows the filling to not soak through the tortilla. I highly recommend this place if you love seafood and tacos!
