I’ve been here numerous times. The service is wonderful & they always make you feel at home! I always bring new friends here & they all have loved it. Food is delicious! I always get the French Toast. Yum!

I have been coming here for 14 years. The place gets slammed so you have to have patience. I really enjoy the banana crunch french toast. I also like the chicken fried steak. If you are in Oceanside and looking for breakfast, you can not go wrong with Beach Break.

Beach Break excels at what they do. Food is very good … the corned beef hash dish is probably the best I’ve ever had. Kind of fun that they offer coffee cake instead of toast if you like! Pleasant wait staff.

The hubby and I have been dying to try this place but seeing everyone waiting outside was intimidating. The wait for the 2 of us on a Saturday morning was about 25 minutes. There is coffee in the waiting area available so that held us over. We looked over the menu while waiting and both decided to try the Spicy Chicken omelette. Very filling but not spicy. The chicken was shredded chicken. I don’t know why I was expected crispy chicken. Wierdo. Anyway, I can’t handle anything spicy so trust me the Jalapeño cheese is mild mild mild! The hashbrowns are nice and crisy and the coffee cake is amazing! I might just get that as my meal next time! We sat at the counter inside and service was good. Our food was ready in less than 10 minutes. This place seems to be more known for omelletes and pancakes. Others seem to be comparing other great breakfast places but it’s not comparable. More diner style. Surfer décor and videos rolling. The food is good and is definitely a must try when in Oceanside.

This was hands down one of the best breakfast experiences I have ever had. They have so many gluten free options! Their GF eggs benedict was incredible. Usually I can order eggs and potatoes when I go out for breakfast. Here I had more options than I knew what to do with. The hub’s refused to order GF pancakes to split with me(his pregnant wife… so rude), so I’ll just have to go back to try those. My sister and brother in law were visiting from Minneapolis(which is a city with some good food), so I was hoping this place wouldn’t disappoint. Between the beautiful view, great service, and wonderful food, I was relieved that I made the right choice.

Popular breakfast spot with a classic surf diner feel. Food is very straightforward, with classic menu items cooked up tasty. And prices are on point. Omelettes are large and always cooked properly. Beach Breaker, Spicy Chicken and ABC rock hardest. ‘Burned in hell potatoes’ are my favorite. Banana crunch french toast is too sweet for my liking. Coffee cake is always warm and fresh here. The big problem with Beach Break is that it’s always so damn busy. I find myself avoiding the place because of long waits for a table. But it does have a fun atmosphere and is great for families. Beach Break is Oceanside.

I was down south for a family event, and I had the corned hash beef. Damn it was very tasty. Usually, I’m a steak and egg guy, but for some reason when I Unilocaled this place, I had to try it because it looks good. No doubt, it was good. The place is nice and clean. The waitress was friendly and nice. Whenever I get a chance to take my family to Legoland, I would stop by here again.

A place so good I had to buy the t-shirt! The cinnamon bun blew my mind and my wife’s blueberry waffle was amazing! Great food, really fresh fruit, good coffee and great service! I loved this place when we came out to visit before we moved to San Diego, and have been back several times! Great place!

This place is called Beach Break Café so the last thing you should be surprised by is the copious amounts of surfboards, fishing, and surfer magazines that adorn the this place from floor to ceiling. I ordered the Banana Crunch French Toast which I’m convinced I ordered out of cravings. I get the idea, it sounds delicious, but it more on the okay side rather than delicious. Service was good. My sister and I really appreciated when the waitress offered us the cheaper alternative of ordering a bowl of fruit over two cups of fruit. This saved us several dollars and it was more than enough to fill us both. If there’s one thing you should be surprised by is that KICKASS ‘Under the Sea’ themed bathroom. Just look at the pictures, it seems like it’s tacky but when you see it, it works and it’s pretty awesome. I mean come on, you reach into the Sharks mouth to get the seat cover! I do want to come back but to try something else like the omelettes which look like they’re portioned to be your breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Breakfast tried Santa fee omelette: I liked very much I ordered with home style potatoes which do taste like home, omelette can be on the bit salty side like bacon but I like bacon Buiscuits & gravy: Buiscuits do taste home style a bit on the dry and slight crunchy side but I like them soft all over. the gravy a bit too much pepper but both taste good Crunchy banana French toast: was covered in minced nuts was lacking in flavor for me although good but not a reorder for me. Servive — was ok in general from check-in to bill close Huge portions and reasonable prices might return but not my to go to spot although good P.s dog friendly covered patio

I was hoping to make it to SD for brunch, but the ride was taking longer than usual. I could feel the hanger setting in, so I did an emergency Unilocal search. Enter, Beach Break. The restaurant is a decent size, but seemed crowded so we opted for the outdoor patio. It was a beautiful morning, perfect for alfresco dining. Sitting on the patio, the possibility for neglect is high, but our server was Johnny on the spot with coffee refills. He was intuitive too, asking if we wanted salsa before I had the chance. I got the Beach Breaker, an omelet chock full of shrimp, scallops and crab meat. It came with perfectly prepared seasoned potatoes and a biscuit side. Because the coffee cake is a signature item, we knew we had to give it a try. When it arrived, it was warm. The cake was perfectly moist with a streusel topping and a generous icing drizzle. It paired perfectly with coffee. The biscuits were freshly baked and were just as yummy. I’m a savory bread topping kinda gal(butter/hot sauce) but their homemade jams were calling me. Those biscuits served as the perfect vehicle for a slathering of strawberry and orange marmalade goodness. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised at how great breakfast was. It was the perfect way to kick off our San Diego food crawl.

Been here twice, and plan to visit again(with more frequency if I lived closer)! This place gets pretty busy in the mornings and with good reason. First off the parking is decent size, but unfortunately is quite packed often. The wait is quite a bit as well, getting a 30 minute the wait the first time. The second time I arrived around noon when the crowd died out and it was a 5 minute wait, so if you can handle it I recommend coming later in the day. The place a nice relaxed surfer diner feel to it, and the place is lively and bright. The staff is on point too, and there is plenty of them working, so it is easy request any help if necessary. So far I have ordered the banana crunch french toast, Zell’s scramble, and coffee cake. I was also able to try my girlfriend’s corn beef hash and almond banana pancakes. Everything was delicious and very filling. Good portions at decent prices with great and fresh tastes. Oh, and I haven’t had too much coffee cake to compare, but this one is pretty darn good.

I need to start off with how amazing their coffee cake is. It’s seriously the best coffee cake I’ve ever had in my ENTIRE life!!! I would recommend this little joint on their coffee cake alone it’s so good! Like even if you have to wait in line for it… *sigh* I want that coffee cake again now Mini fan girl rant aside– the service was awesome. Our server was attentive and sweet. Just plain great to be honest. I have absolutely no complaints. I had the coconut chocolate chip pancakes which were fantastic but HUGE. Pretty big portions at this lovely place … That coffee cake seriously made me so happy though…

Last week, my husband and I went on a bit of a drive for a breakfast date at Beach Break. I’d read such great reviews that I thought it would be phenomenal but it wasn’t. We ordered an omelet with a side of potatoes and biscuits & gravy. Both items tasted like what you would expect to taste at an IHOP or Dennys. Subpar. The only praise I can provide Beach Break is in that they have quality customer service. They are very attentive in all aspects and smile a lot.

We stumbled across this place on a staycation weekend that was much needed. I looked up breakfast close to us and this came up with great reviews. We were not disappointed. From the coffee while you wait to the homemade jam on the table, this place made a very good impression. We ended up going there twice that weekend. Expect a wait if it’s mid morning Sunday but you get to sip on your coffee so the wait goesby pretty quick. I got the chile verde omelet it had pork, cheese, green chile and pico. So flavorful and such huge portions I couldn’t even eat my coffee cake, we packed it up to take back with us. My man had the awesome omelet which had seafood, bacon and cheese. Get the hash browns they are amazing! Everything was great! We will definitely be back.

Beach Break Café is a cute breakfast joint in Oceanside. Only open until 2 pm every day, the restaurant serves breakfast and lunch. 1. What should you get here? The most popular items here are the coffee cake and the banana crunch French toast. We ordered: — Banana crunch French toast: I was expecting a greater«crunch» factor, but the French toast was well-executed nonetheless. The bananas add a natural sweetness to the entrée. Served with a side of bacon, this dish is the epitome of a delicious breakfast. — Short stack of pancakes: The pancakes are thick and fluffy, in contrast to other restaurants where pancakes tend to be greasy and flat. — Corned beef hash: We generally order corned beef hash wherever it’s served, and Beach Break’s corned beef hash is a dish to be reckoned with. The corned beef, the potatoes, the eggs, oh my! Breakfast perfection on a plate. 2. What else should you know? — The restaurant can get quite busy during the brunch time frame. — The parking lot behind the restaurant has limited spaces, so you may have to resort to street parking. — Beach Break has capacity to accommodate large parties. We will absolutely return when we are back in San Diego.

Writing reviews on Unilocal is a tricky business. Sometimes you see a new restaurant, find the food to be terrible, and either feel awkward in being someone who starts them out low or who drags the place lower from the people they’ve paid off for their 5 star reviews(sorry, Rosati’s). Even then, maybe you caught the place on an off night or just ordered something that you wouldn’t have liked regardless. Then, there’s times like this one, when a place has so very many reviews going for it that no matter what you do, you won’t make a dent in their rating. On the flip side of that, if you like the place(like I very much liked Beach Break Café), what could you possibly say that hasn’t been said, literally, over 1,000 times already? Do you still add to the discussion? Do you hope that your voice is heard in the din? Or do you just wave a hand, search for other, less reviewed fare to try? In the end, who is gonna see this anyway? Whatever, I liked this place a hell of a lot and I gotta share it. So, the Beach Break Café. First off, the place is gorgeous, and huge, which is a huge bonus as the place was full even in the late lunch hours. The waiting area was stylish, a circular area with bench lined walls and a round island in the center that has a nice stone and fern garden. We sat on the patio, which is unfortunately dog friendly. Be wary of owners with untrained pooches that bark constantly or jump up on to laps; even well behaved dogs will still shake up an air-ful of fur on to your omelette when they get up. I start with my son, who loved his Mickey Pancake. It came with assorted fruit that he finished before ripping off piece, after fluffy piece that he loved to dip into his small puddle of syrup. I found his pancake to be impressively cooked, moist and sweet the way good pancakes are meant to be made. My only disappointment with it was the jug of Aunt Jemima on the table instead of an actual maple or something homemade. My mother had the Eggs Benedict. The yolks were perfectly cooked, golden and fluid, with the rest poached into moist deliciousness. Hollandaise sauce topped it off, light and acidic to help cut through the fat, across a pair of soft and warm muffins. Mixed with some nicely salted ham and this was a pretty tasty dish. Served with it were Beach Break Café’s Homestyle Potatoes; these were kind of nasty. Dry and oddly seasoned, they were edible when served warm, but quickly cooled into something you only wanted to push around on your plate and try and ignore. I had their Beach Break Burger and was impressed with their choice of Brioche Bun alone when it hit the table. Lightly toasted, it had a small burger, that was very juicy and topped with thick, well cooked bacon, avocado, and a pretty good mayo spread. With all the vegetables offered, the whole was well done and pretty delicious. The fries seemed frozen, crisped up in a fryer, but there were still good quality and yummy. I like this place, a lot. I’m very curious about their omelettes and will have to come back in the near future. After everything, I pretty much have to agree with just about everyone on the Unilocal page for them, which … in the end, I have to say I think puts me in great company. Huh…

Just ok. If you’re around oceanside area, there isn’t alot of choices and I would say this place is a pretty nice place to have breakfast. Food 3+ * Banana french toast — it’s basically french toast with lots of banana around it. I’ve had better french toast before, this one was sufficient but not great. It was not as soft as I would like it. Also, i like my french toast with a little powdered sugar and it didn’t come with that. I also like my french toast to taste good even without syrup, but this one was just ok, almost on the bland side. * Ultimate mexican sandwhich(??) — hubby liked this. It was pretty tasty, its packed with good amount of meat and the guac made it a yummy meal. * Orange and grapefruit juice — just regular, as expected. Service 3+ * I felt hurried. I was not even done with my toast, barely got our food 15 min ago and the lady gave us the check right away. * No one really checked on us after we got our food until we got our check, while we were still eating. They were pretty busy though, there was also a wait so they probably want to clear tables right away. Overall, it was an ok place for breakfast. It didn’t really fulfilled my expectations esp because it has such high reviews.

Coffee cake! Coffee cake! Coffee cake! SO good! Served warm with an addicting icing. Mmm. I could have a whole pan of it for breakfast and call it a day. With over 1k reviews, this place is busy! They have self serve coffee while you wait and a sign that says they go by the honor system so make sure to let your server know you enjoyed their coffee! Our table ended up with coffee cake, pancakes, hash browns, bacon, eggs, and a club sandwich with roast beef. Yes, roast beef! Everything was delicious! Our server was awesome! A great start to a wonderful long weekend.
