I eat here so much I should own stock here lol! Best find for Mexican food in this entire area. First what sets it apart is their home made tortillas omg! They are wonderful! Now don’t be put off by the looks of it though as we all know usually these hole in the wall places are usually the best and believe me Chachos does not disappoint! Just don’t expect to eat inside as they have three tables crammed together that seat about a total of 12! And plan before u get hungry as they are always busy but it’s definitely worth the wait. It’s a family run place and has the best bean and cheese burritos I have ever had ! It might be wise to call ahead as I have gone multiple times during business hours only to show up and read a note on the door closed early or closed for the day etc. That’s always disappointing when your craving it !

One of my favorite stops to make while in Oceano. Lovely family owned restaurant that has been around for years ! My favorite thing to get is the yummy homemade burgers that are dripping with sauce ! So delicious. I also would highly recommend their burritos, that include the homemade flour tortillas. Best tortillas I’ve had in my life !! I don’t know what I would do without this place in my life.

The food is really good, but it takes an hour for them to make one taco. I’m not joking. When you call ahead they give your food away to someone else, or make it wrong… Foods good tho

My favorite place! Family ran and amazing tortillas! Chili Colorado with cheese and bag of chips and salsa to go! Yummy! I moved to LA but whenever I’m back up north visiting they wrap my burritos in foil so I can freeze them when I get back to LA… Thank you Chachos family. I LOVEYOUGUYS. I have been going here since I was 16 years old. Only reason I miss five cities.

My favorite burrito place. Period. Is it the best? Probably not. But it is Mexican food like I had growing up in L.A. Homemade flour tortillas, beans fried in lard, meat slow cooked for hours in chile. Gooey melted cheese, 2 kinds of homemade salsa, one spicy, one pure tomato. I have yet to try the enchiladas or other items because the burritos are so good. Everything is cooked fresh daily, so when they run out, they run out. Get there early and you won’t be disappointed. Be patient. Not in the best neighborhood, lots of construction workers having lunch, so cover up.

This place is THEBOMB! I LOVE their Bean, cheese and rice burritos are AMAZING. Enchiladas are my second favorite. Guacamole and Chips are very good, as well. This place is legit, when it comes to authentic mexican food! Highly Recommend!

Don’t come here after 6. They seem to start running out of things around then. Al pastor in particular but I’ve even come here at 6:20 and they were out of tortillas. I’m pretty sure they make their own so I kind of took that as a kiss off but still came back another time. Their tortillas are awesome. The tacos are crunchy and remind my of Jack in the Box but better. Their meat is only so so however, which is unfortunate. I’ve tried the barbacoa, chile verde, and al pastor and wasn’t impressed by any of them. I don’t think I’ll go out of my way to eat here anymore.

Actually this place is a regular stop for us. Today, they were out of tortillas. How does a Mexican restaurant run out if tortillas? Then we went back the next day and they were closed for the weekend. Oh well… it forced us to try Effren’s around the corner. …wonderful food!

Small venue but the food is sooooo gooood! Before we lived here we hit this place every other weekend, we would leave the valley early so we could make it before they closed. Now we live here and it’s a Friday night deal for the wife and I. Not a great place to sit with a large group do to space restriction but you there are 2 tables outside. I would recommend calling in your order to avoid waiting and again the space restriction. I’ve tried pretty much most of the menu and have yet to taste something I did not like. Service i good, food is outstanding, and they even have beer for those waits.

I had carne asada tacos here and was not a fan. The least authentic Mexican tacos I’ve had in a long time, more like tex-mex really. The asada was huge unseasoned chewy chunks of steak, so get your floss out people, a lot of grissel. There was no chile or heat to these tacos, just a bit of bland pico de gallo. As far as the tortillas go, they may be homemade but are dry and fall apart easily. I’d prefer standard fresh store bought. But man were they busy, I waited 20 min, which is no prob if the food would have been better, plus they had no refills, so my soda was empty by the time my food was ready. There’s a taco place on Grand Ave and about 8th St. called El Taco De Mexico that has much better food, for cheaper, and is much cleaner for dining in. My 2 cents, I’m a huge taco connoisseur.

Carne asada burrito was on point! Was kinda bummed on the smaller portions but $ 5 burrito with fresh homemade tortilla is the business!

To sum it up, I am not impressed. I probably will not eat here again in the future. The cons: I don’t feel their food is authentic at all, as other reviewers described. I’ve had far better in our small town! For starters, what I ordered and what I got were two different things. Sides were missing and requested ingredients(Sour Cream/Guacamole) were missing in two meals. Food is very bland(great for my child, me-not so much) and chips heavily fried and greasy. The pros: Food was warm. Mild salsa is fantastic.

Awesome, fresh Mexican food from a hole in the wall spot. Bottled sodas, fresh made tortillas, great prices — highly recommended. Some cold cervezas would make this place perfect.

While the outside of the building looks a bit weathered, the food is perfect. They make their own chips and tortilla shells. The fish tacos were light and the sauce was spicy just how I like it. While it says it is a take-out eatery they do have 12 seats inside the restaurant they also have 2 small tables outside. DONOTMISS!

This place has the best bean and cheese burritos ever! Their homemade tortillas are the best I’ve tried. And the chips and salsa are pretty good too. But don’t go here if you are in a hurry. Everything is cooked to order so it can take awhile to get your food sometimes.

Everyone always talks about how great this place is and as long as I have lived here(20 years) I have never tried it until the other day and unfortunately I was not that impressed. The tortillas are very good but that is not why I go to Mexican food! I love chili verde it is my favorite so I decided to get the #10 wet I asked the girl if that was indeed chili verde she said it was so I ordered it on my lunch hour zipped in picked it up and headed back to work. I get back and never before have I had both pork and beef in my chili verde which was bland, no spice. The rice was very good but the beans were also bland. I like Mexican food for the spice and flavor and this is was area that chacho’s fails in is flavor. There are many other Mexican restaurant’s in the five cities area that really delivers on taste and flavor that I will go back to, just for tortillas is not a reason to go.

Five stars for the tortillas alone! They were fluffy and fresh. I had a chili ralleno and a chicken taco with a side of tortillas. The food was excellent and authentic. I highly recommend Chacho’s!

The chili colorado wet burrito is to die for, but seriously if you haven’t had one you missed what Chacho’s does best. I would agree that this is authentic style Mexican food tailored to a caucasian palate. Everything I have had here is good besides their beans which are disappointing… The prices are good and the service is friendly. Yes this is a hole in the wall restaurant which means seating in limited, deal breaker? I make excuses just to go here when lunch or dinner is less than appealing. You never know who you will run into here, your next architect, a cross country bicyclist, or a good friend as they all eat here and so should you!
