Took my office staff to Yolanda’s for lunch. Had a wonderful time. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The food was great. Totally would recommend this fantastic restaurant. Theresa Dantonio

Mediocre at best. The smell in the tavern is repulsive. Sort of like a sewer. Whatever you do, don’t order the pizza. I don’t think it’s even fair to call it a pizza. More like a soft cracker with spaghetti sauce. Nothing is really fresh.

After receiving a coupon in the mail my husband and I decided to try this restaurant for lunch. The actual establishment was very nice and clean. The bar staff who also served as the lunch waitress was extremely friendly and nice. Unfortunately the food was gross. The burgers that my husband and I ordered were disgusting and the meat tasted very funny and not fresh or of high quality. After we finished our meal and handed our coupon over to our waitress she told us we couldn’t use it with no explanation. Upon reading the fine print multiple times there was no reason the coupon should not gave been accepted. We would not go back.

Yolanda’s is under new ownership since Feb. 2013. I visited recently to have a burger and salad, and I have to say that it was the best burger I’ve had in a long time. My wife had a salad which she enjoyed very much. We had stopped in twice before and had a great experience each time. The place is clean, and staff and patrons are friendly. There is a nice river view from the main dining room and the upstairs balcony. They are scheduling entertainment from time to time, too. I look forward to going back soon to try a seafood dinner.

My sister in law and I had dinner at Yolanda’s a few weeks ago. We started with a shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were not cleaned well and i got a few shells in my mouth, which really disturbs me. The bread basket was very good. I asked the server about it and she said they were artisinal breads delivered from Brooklyn every day. I had a seafood crêpe for my entrée. It was good. My sister in law ordered a steak(medium) which was delivered to our table well done. I suggested she send it back, but she was reluctant to do so. She cut a piece of steak, and it was all grissle. The next two pieces were the same. She couldn’t even eat the steak. I called over our server, who politely said she would speak to the manager. She came back and said the manager would allow her to take $ 5.00 off the bill. We did eat bread and a salad, but I felt that they steak would have cost more than a mere $ 5.00. Again, my sister in law did not want to persue that matter, so we just asked for our bill and left. Another thing that bothered me was the servers. Our server was delightful and professional. However, there were two other server that were engaging the other diners in conversation. Not just chit chat, but long conversations about their lives. While I enjoy talking to my servers, I don’t enjoy hearing their entire life story — and that was what was happening at the tables around us. I find this behavior unprofessional and unacceptable. It is not likely that I will return to Yolanda’s.

We just went there for Sunday Brunch & a bloody Mary. There was plenty of breakfast and lunch items to choose from in large chaffing dishes. They also had an omelette station and a carving station.

What an upgrade over the old Ocean Gate house. Indoor/outdoor dining. Drinks & meals reasonably priced. My slight alteration within a dish easily accomodated. The service staff perhaps a little young and untrained but the place is too new to critique on that and I hope the servers grow into their roles, they were all nice. Positives– everyone seemed to like the apps(we had shrimp cktl, mushroom app & calamari all were serviceable, thoughnone stood out). The server was twice confused on what did or didn‘t get a starch, again I will attribute that to the newness. The renovation is quaint, the 1st fl dining area we ate at was functional but cavernous and perhaps a bit where the budget ran dry. I would have like to see the owner type lady that was doing what appeared to be paperwork off the floor doing that, and also she could‘ve made efforts to walk around to see how everything was going. So while the food was acceptable, the drink prices very good, and the service ‘nice‘, I wll say Fail on the hostess for hanging by the stand=maybe assist with a drink refill when people are waiting?. Fail on the owner type for doing her ppwk in public and not checking on her clients. I don‘t actually need that coddling, I am just saying if you are present, be present or go in an office in the back. Will I go back? Well if I am in the area, yes. As this was a 30mile hike for me and it made a good ½ way point for DW& I to catchup with an old friend who lives 20miles the other way, it was more a convenience and curiosity to see the makeover but I would‘nt need to go out of the way to come here. Ican see off season lunchtime being very empty. Just a hunch. I wsh them well and would stop when in area. One last thing-the server told us ‘she heard this or that was good‘ and that they didn‘t get to sample the foods. I am a firm believer that the staff should get to taste the menu in order to sell or recommend to a client. This is an ownership fail. Owners-have a tasting night for your staff!!!
