What I’d expected, a once glorious steakhouse for vacationers has been trapped in time. Wagon wheels, red vinyl booths, and a salad bar. It was fun to imagine this place in its heyday. Food was just OK, steaks over cooked and the baked potatoes were drowning in butter & sour cream. I appreciate a little history and kitch but serving a quality meal should be the priority.

Nice place, good atmosphere. The Rib’s were not that good but my husband got the chicken and said it was great! Over all it was a good place to eat! The owner was very good about trying to make us happy when we told him the ribs were dry. Good service, salad bar was fresh and the dressing was good too.

Definitely note that most of these reviews are old. The sirloin was very chewy, the ribeye and ny strip were ok, the fried chicken white meat was very dry, dark was good, skin didn’t have much flavor, the crab cakes and crab balls had a lot of filler and weren’t good. Salad bar was good.

It’s hard to find a steak that is so good than you don’t need a little A1 to go with it. I love my A1 but these steaks were delicious the way they were. Juicy, tender and flavorful. The service was prompt and waitress very friendly. I would definitely go here again for my next steak craving. BTW, I ordered the filet and my husband ordered the New York Strip. Delicious!

One of the best kept secrets in OCMD! If you came here years ago and were unsatisfied this place has really improved! Steaks and crab cakes are always so great. The salad bar is awesome, everything is fresh and well maintained. We have come to Melvin’s 2 times each vacation for the past 5 years. I have been nothing but impressed with the quality, attention to detail, and service at this place. Once again, the salad bar is amazing! Very fresh produce and a wide array of items to choose from. It is always one of the major dining highlights of the whole week. Only one thing makes me sad about Melvin’s… We went down to OCMD Thursday before good Friday and they were closed… so SAD! Our mini Vaca wasn’t really complete without a Melvin’s stop!

This is probably one of the most all-around satisfying restaurant experiences I’ve ever had in Ocean City. My husband and I came here with our toddler for his birthday dinner(I cannot attest to whether they do anything for birthdays, though, as I didn’t ask since my husband does not enjoy dessert — what?! — or singing waitresses). We arrived around 4:30−5pm and the place wasn’t crowded, but there were other customers. We were seated right away and our order(one ribeye steak, one chicken caesar salad, and one kid’s macaroni & cheese) was out amazingly fast and tasted great. My husband is pretty critical when it comes to steak, but really enjoyed his order — I tried a bite and it was delicious, and was actually«medium» as ordered. My salad was huge — I was only able to finish half — and the chicken was great — not overcooked. The macaroni was obviously Kraft, but my 2 year old isn’t picky and devoured the whole bowl. Great service, great food, reasonably priced for the location — I will return on future vacations.

We ate here 30 years ago when OCMD was a «quaint» quiet little town — got married — had kids — didn’t get back there for 30 freakn years so when we spent 10 days on Assateague we decided that OC was going to be a day trip with dinner ending at Melvin’s if it still existed-really happy to see it did. The food was great back then and was just as good as we remembered it this time around-found out the chef was the same chef as they had back then! Waitress was wonderful — going to the trouble of speaking with the chef about our inquiry from 30 years past! This is the«original» OCMD steakhouse — same casual atmosphere as in the 70’s when we were just kids! LUVIT!

we had a nice meal here. Bailed out on the cheesy«lizard» place down the street. We walked in a bit late for OC – like 9pm, but still got good service. Our waitress was new but she was a sweetheart, made us some strong cocktails. I had the fried chicken and it was really tasty, fresh, crisp, everything you need it to be. came with salad bar – which was minimal but fresh and good. We also had the scallop/bacon appetizer and those were REALLY good. simple, but broiled and awesome. Could have doubled up on those and been quite happy. They were nice about us sharing our entrees – split with my girlfriend. And they were very friendly and invited us back to have dessert. The desserts looked very good in the case but we didn’t have room. I would definitely come back here for the chicken and I would think the steak dinner is probably good – although we didn’t eat it this time I would give it a chance.
