I love Mallon’s for so many reasons. It has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember. My grandfather use to come parading in the house on weekend mornings signing«The March of the Bun’s». My favorite is the«sticky» bun with raisins and walnuts. My kids love the coffee cake. Really all of it is good! The store is tiny and has character. It is always meticulous inside even with hundreds of buns coming out each hour. This is a family tradition I hope my kids carry it on as I know I have!

I went to mallons for the great sticky buns and was a little disappointed. They were rock hard!!! However, The huge white cinnamon buns were outrageous!!! Wish I got more of those. We went at 8:30 am and they were already sold out of some stuff. I don’t think i would buy the sticky buns again but definitely the cinnamon buns. Fun flavors too! Get there early…

OK stopped there a few minutes ago. Good sticky buns but the Crumb Cake is the real winner

Stopped there this morning and got sticky buns. They were very good, sweet and dense and very fresh. I got a donut also but I didn’t think it was that so good.

If you are not someone who wants to stuff your face with gobs and gobs of sticky buns, but instead just wants to satisfy your sweet tooth with one or two, then BEWARE: you can only buy a minimum of 6 sticky buns! So, after trekking on foot for 30 minutes to try these apparently wondrous sticky buns, I settled for a donut(which you can buy in amounts not fit for a sugar-crazed family) that, notably, turned out to be seriously sub par. Next time I’ll trek to a different bakery and I suggest anyone not willing to go diabetic with a half dozen treats should too.

One of my very evil coworkers had these delivered to the office. I say evil because I have a weakness for sweets, carbs, and all around deliciousness and this met all of the criteria. There is currently half a box left in my office kitchen and I continue to walk past with lust filled eyes every hour on the hour. Why? Because these buns are so delicious that I somehow find myself gravitating toward them. I am weak. I’m in Chicago and this company is in New Jersey. Clearly the buns need to be shipped but they taste as though they just came out of the oven!

Get there early, the line is out the door. We had the cinnamon buns, they call them something else and they were huge and very good. I would like to have tried the crumb cake but they only sell it in very large pieces and i didn’t want that much.

Congrats Mallons on your 25th year Anniversary! These sticky buns are the best! Awesome flavor and melt in your mouth. A must whenever you are in OCNJ!

I’m sorry to be a fly in the ointment here, but I have to agree with the other reviewer who prefers the sticky buns from ‘the other establishment.’ My husband and I tried Mallon’s, and threw them all out after each taking just a couple of bites. They were cloyingly sweet and heavy. I realize everybody has their own tastes and family traditions, but these just weren’t for me. BTW, we have driven by this location a number of times throughout the winter, and often see people working in there, despite being closed for the season. Some of the motion might be from hurricane cleanup, but I think they’re doing a phenomenal mail-order business as well, so they’re obviously making other people happy!

Delicious sticky buns with great flavors above and beyond the usual. Mallons has been our SHORE Thing for years. While others make Sticky Buns, Mallons makes the best. We order them shipped to us for the holidays and they arrive just as fresh and yummy as if i picked them up at the store.

Delish! Brings back memories of old PA Dutch sticky buns. Haven’t tried all the favors yet, but the walnut is wonderful!

Ive veen enjoying these since I was a kid and let me say, I want to live in these tasty buns. They’re truely baked to perfection. Homestyle baking, multi-varieties, and decent pricing, this shop is great. But you better get there early!!! As soon as the busy season hits they sell out quick do get in early or call ahead! But believe me it’s worth it.

There is alot of love that goes into the preperation at this local hot spot. The sticky buns are amazing with many different flavors, but heavy! The bagels and doughnuts are from a local place and they are great also. This is the one meal of the day you have a chance at burning off completely so if you are going to splurge for breakfast then hit this place up. You can smell the deliciousness from a mile away.(might be tough to live next to them though… ha) Don’t forget your papers on the curb from the paper boy. and let him keep the change.

Mallon’s makes the best breakfast pastries I’ve ever had. Now I know everyone goes on and on about their sticky buns but I for one am sold on their crumb cake. Sooo good! And it’s one of the last to sell out(yes, they do sell out of just about everything so you have to get there bright and early!) The earlier you get in, the more variety and selection you have, they actually have a wide variety of sticky buns(see their site for a full listing.) Off season, they are only open on weekends — that’s probably better for my waist line! haha!

Amazing, incredible sticky buns. I hate to think about the calories, but the buns are hard to resist unless you’re very, very strong. The store opens at 7AM. If you want one of the more unusual flavors of their buns, get there early. Their doughnuts are also good, as are the bagels. Neither are cheap. Six sticky buns with raisins costs $ 7.05. They don’t sell less than six at a time. Bagels cost $ 1.25 each. The bagels are big and fresh, but I’m not convinced that they are $ 1.25 big and fresh. Once the season is over, the store is only open on weekends until October 9. They open again during Thanksgiving(and maybe Christmas, not sure). I have to agree with some of the other posters re store service, at least during the summer season. The counter help isn’t rude, but most don’t go out of their way to make you feel welcome for your business. The staff is nicer during the off-season.
