Tried the meatball parm and the chicken cutlet. Both delicious. High quality, fresh ingredients. Will definitely be back!

PRO’s: Highly attractive establishment. CON’s: Slightly disappointing. I was expecting an upscale specialty bread shop, but it was just average to slightly below average. No wow taste factor here. It’s really for seasonal tourists(aka Shoobie’s). We will not be back.

I went to Bennie’s at least 4 times during my week long vacation on the shore. Check them out and you’ll quickly see why. They excel at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. And the kids who work there seem genuinely pleased to help you, even during a busy rush. Breakfast sandwich– a couple eggs, generous amount of sausage or bacon, and cheese on a nice soft roll(Bennie Roll). It filled me up until dinner pretty much. Lunch– I had a chicky chicky parm parm. Generously sized cutlets on an excellent sub roll. It’s a classic and they do it just right. The red sauce is perfectly savory and thick. Dinner– my people and I got meatball subs. I have a soft spot in my heart(and belly) for a great meatball sandwich because my grandma made them for us all summer as kids. Bennies is pretty close to hers, but the meatballs are bigger and the bread is better. Cut the meatballs in half for an easier eating experience. Oh damn the desserts! The chocolate chip cookies are friggin gigantic and really delicious. I was surprised that such a large cookie could also be cooked to soft perfection but it was. Also recommended– the éclair and cannoli.

Awesome and well deserving of 5 stars. Ultra clean interior, man taking owner was extremely good natured and friendly. Breakfast sandwiches came out fast and were delicious. Prices average. I went back for pizza a different day and the pizzas were mediocre. Toppings were fresh, but there wasn’t much substance to each pie. If you like light and small pizzas they are good.

I had the tomato pie… It’s delicious and super fresh. The crust gas just the right amount of crunch and it’s just sweet enough. It’s perfect. The staff is very friendly and the space is clean and modern.

We started our ocean city week with lunch at bennies. We were a little overwhelmed at first since we needed to grab a number and our number got called before we even finished reading all the menu boards. However, the food did not disappoint. The pizza was delicious and the vegetable sandwich I got was great too. We will definitely be back!

The sandwich I ordered I think the name was the Real Italian was a great concept but it only had 1 slice of each meat and cheese so it was a wish sandwich(wish it had some meat). Also, another factor I did not like is there is a minimum of 10.00 dollars to use credit/debit card.

Family owned and operated, excellent brick oven pizza and desserts and a host of healthy foods ready for take out. Salads are huge for the price. I’m there every week.

Excellent brick oven pizza. Pepperoni bread was good, not great(not enough cheese & pepperoni). Excellent bread/rolls and prepared food options. Brussels sprouts were yummy. They have a good choice of Italian desserts here including rum cake. Staff was friendly.

Wanted to expand our palate beyond Ward’s, Dot’s and boardwalk food — delightful Italian bakery — the tomato pie was fabulous and fresh, semolina bread was yummy, scones and muffins were a delight. Sad we found it the last day so we will have to go back and try the dinner items. Really great!

I really like this place for the atmosphere and friendly service, however I was disappointed with the pizzas and pepperoni and cheese bread. They were both light on cheese and flavor. I was really hoping that the pepperoni and cheese bread was more like a calzone or a Stromboli in terms of content but it was really more like a rolled bread with pieces of pepperoni inside– not sure I even tasted cheese. My wife did like the California pizza, which is a light option, so we will probably return to try other things. The rolls and sweets look amazing, though we did not try them. The apple and cinnamon cream cheese is lightly whipped and tasty.

I visit OCNJ annually and Bennie’s is a required stop upon arrival and before departure. The pepperoni roll makes the perfect beach food, the cannoli are spectacular and filled to order(the true standard for good cannoli), the fresh pasta is excellent, the bagels are legit. Put an order in ahead of time if you need something in particular or a specific volume. Delicious and memorable.

Ok. No joke here. Absolutely the best tomato pie I have ever had. If you don’t know what tomato pie is — shame on you — get in there while shopping asbury avenue and have a slice for a light lunch! Bennies often sells out so call ahead. A SoJersey gem!

AMAZING! We ordered lunch and sat outside on the umbrella covered tables. The roast pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and Italian tuna sandwich were a 10. Freshly baked bread and the highest quality ingredients shined through in both specials. There is a wonderful selection of hot and cold delights. Even the dessert were worth the calories. Delicious chocolate chip cookie with wonderful caramelization on the outside and perfectly gooey on the inside. This place is a must try!

Such a refreshing change from the greasy fatty boardwalk foods. When you walk in you smell the delicious aromas of a fresh Italian bakery. They have several display cases full of pastries and a variety of foods. When you come in you have to grab a number and wait your turn… At lunch time it wasn’t too long of a wait. I ordered a delicious, slow roasted pork shoulder sandwich. It had provolone, broccoli rabe and was on a soft, freshly baked roll. So good! I also had a very tasty chocolate chip cookie for dessert. My friend said it was the best chocolate chip cookie she’s ever had. Perfect combination of chewy and crispness. They have outdoor seating with umbrellas, bike parking and they play Frank Sinatra. Great place!

I went here while I was vacationing in OCNJ to pickup some dinner rolls and tomato pie. Both turned out to be delicious as they certainly live up to their rating. So long as you order ahead, you won’t have any complaints about getting your fresh baked breads and savory pies here. Do yourself a favor and skip ACME and make Bennie’s the highlight of your dinner side or your lunch sammy.

Great lunch offerings… We had the pork shoulder,(as good as my own), Pizza(baked in a 700+ degree wood burning oven), and a meatball parmesan. Food Quality A Cleanliness A Friendliness of Staff A Overall Value for the Money A
