Had the coconut chicken salad. It was a solid option for healthy which is hard to find in OC. Very accommodating for a large group. And were very friendly. Again a rarity for OC. And they take credit cards, rare on OC.(What’s wrong with Ocean city?)

This is the place to go to on your vacation. The waiters are very friendly and take special requests for food. The food always comes out fresh.

Love, love, love this place! The breakfast sandwiches are awesome as is everything else we have ever presented. I enjoyed the special of blueberry French toast and returned the next day for the avocado toast with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and over easy eggs. Yum! The servers are friendly and and prompt even when they are busy. The hostess is so pleasant & happy!

My 1st visit to was yesterday and my wife and I enjoyed it so much we came back again today. If more people gave Jon & Patty’s a try Uncle Bill’s would not be nearly as busy. My wife who is not a big fan of breakfast and essentially goes along for the ride(mainly because breakfast is my favorite meal of the day) by typically having a plain bagel with cream cheese and strawberry jelly ventured way outside the box, by trying the Baked Apple Pie Oatmeal special while I tried the Multi-Grain Granola Blueberry pancakes(also a special). Both of us enjoyed what we had so much, we went back for more of the same today. I’m already looking forward to my next visit, unfortunately our vacation was cut a little short and we will have to wait a little while for our next trip back to Ocean City, but we will absolutely be returning to Jon & Patty’s the next time we are in town.

I was walking past when I saw the sign that listed the breakfast specials and just had to stop. I had the drunken pork hash that was excellent. My companions had the avocado toast topped with an egg that looked like a piece of art. Excellent breakfast foods, would love to come back for lunch and/or dinner(which they do serve during the summer season, as several signs around the place announced.) My only complaint is the prompt service. Yes, they were so prompt, our waitress came to our table almost right after we were seated to ask our drink orders. We immediately ordered coffee, but if we had had a few minutes to sit and look at everything around us, we would’ve noticed the wonderfully-sounding flavored coffees that were listed on the boards.

Service was as it should be. The Ham and Cheese omelet was really good. Choice of pumpernickel toast was a welcome surprize. Breakfast potatoes are deep fried cut up pieces of potato. Being fried instead of cooked on the grill does not make me a fan of these. The service and atmosphere were terrific, although a little tight for the space provided. You have to squeeze by just about everyone and everything. The good tasting Omelets are a little overpriced but I can’t complain when it was prepared properly.

I don’t know why we hadn’t come here sooner! Everything was freshly prepared and delicious, the service was good, and the café is really cute. Try the Vermont Lodge French Toast… amazing if you like granola and a little crunch on top!

Many shore towns have a variety of good or excellent breakfast choices. I admit to being inexperienced regarding the food scene in OC, but based on my experiences elsewhere I feel this café is a solid choice. Start with a cute old building on a main Street that offers many shipping options(and relatively cheap parking costs) Add friendly and quick servers. Next, use a good locally roasted coffee bean, then prepare it correctly. Finally, create an interesting menu and pay attention to the details and ingredients. Bonus points for accepting credit cards is worth noting too. The one item that was not well received was Trish’s banana pancakes. She orders this or another similar pancake dish at most breakfast outings. She declared them merely ok. The kids both enjoyed their choices, with the bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich being a clear victor over scrambled eggs. A quick word about their home fries is in order here, egg dishes come with them as did the bagel, and they are excellent. Just potatoes with peel left on that are crisped up more so than you think could be possible. I was disappointed that a menu item of PBJ stuffed French toast was unavailable this Sunday, but my banana crunch FT made up for it. The bread was crispy and nicely spiced, bananas were diced perfectly to be enjoyed in every bite. The drizzle of a cream cheese icing left no need for syrup. I would like to sample several other menu items here, and in the summer a dinner service is to be added. I will try to return for that or lunch. This is a spot that locals seem to have embraced, and new patrons will probably be adding to the lines. For weekends it is best to expect a wait.

Under impressed w the pancakes — my all time favorite breakfast item. So disappointed :( Had the banana — hardly any and bland batter. This review reflects mainly that one item. However Vince loved his banana French Toast & the kids liked their b fast sandwich & eggs. Home fries were a hit too. Very cute place overall — as most shops on Asbury Avenue. Ill stick to Uncle Bills in the future for my pancakes.

So glad we came here! We wanted a local breakfast place and this was perfect. We had our dog with us and sat outside in the sunshine. Everyone here was dog lovers and treated him like royalty. They brought out a water dish and fawned over him I got the pb&j French toast and they made it gluten free My boyfriend got the banana and Nutella French toast special and ate the whole thing. He also got the oatmeal to go. My dog got the bacon. Everyone was completely satisfied. They even gave us to go cups of coffee for us to walk around the street market with. Absolutely wonderful place! We will definitely be back

The freshest of ingredients. Great staff and service. Some say prices are high but considering the quality of ingredients they are crazy to complain.

I have never had a bad meal at Jon and Patty’s! The food is always fresh and delicious. I highly recommend trying something from their specials menu! The specialty coffee drinks are a great treat any time of day. Just an overall great spot to get unique and healthy dishes in OC. Family owned and operated… the Talese family nails everything from the original artwork on the walls to the seasonal dishes that will leave you feeling full and satisfied.

This is our fourth year going to Ocean City, NJ and it’s too bad we didn’t find this place the first year. The coffee here is first rate. I spoke to the owner and he explained to me that they choose their own coffee beans and have them roasted two days before they are delivered to the restaurant. I tried the espresso as well as many of their coffee drinks and they were all delicious. We also had dinner and breakfast here. All of the food is fresh and the dishes are inventive and tasty. This may be my favorite restaurant in all of Ocean City. Also, for those of you that are gluten-free they have many gluten-free options.

Popular place, always busy. Very friendly service, diverse menu for OC, NJ. They have a coffee bar with multiple coffee drinks which I have not tried(not my thing, too much sugar). There is a juice of the day. Many gluten free options. Have been here twice for breakfast. First time we had multigrain avocado toast which was good and homemade hash which was pretty decent. Second time we ordered frittata, eggs with kielbasa and multigrain bagel with salmon/cream cheese/sprouts/cucumber /tomatoes /red onion. I can’t say that food is excellent(what we’ve tried) but it’s a decent option in OC. Regular drip coffee is so so. More like 3.5 if it would rate it any other place.

Finally, we found a 5 star restaurant in OC. Been to several other OC restaurants and this is the best by far. My family has been rating all the OC restaurants that we have visited on our vacation, and so far this is on the top. Very friendly and caring staff that are not just saying the standard greetings. Had the«Amazing Avocado Toast»(toasted Multigrain bread with seasoned Avocado, handmade mozzarella cheese, local NJ tomatoes, red onion, and over easy eggs. + fresh fruit.) and it was truly amazing. First time in my life that I ordered well-done crispy home fries and actually received what I ordered on the first try. I recommend that all the other restaurant owners that want to improve their quality stop by for a meal. The only Con is that it will be difficult to try any other restaurants now that we know of Jon & Patty’s.

They have amazing food and specialty coffees here. We come here all the time and always love it. The only thing I don’t love is the look my girlfriend gives me when I order a peppermint mocha latte with extra whipped cream and stevia.

It’s the off season at the Jersey Shore so for those of us on the Mainland it means we can venture into Ocean City on the weekend without fearing the crowds of visitors that take over each available inch in our beach communities effective with the Memorial Day Weekend. This morning’s breakfast journey took us to Ocean City where Jon and Patty’s is proudly telling the world that they were the winner of the BEST of the SHORE(South Jersey Magazine’s best list) for 2012. I was told the place was hoppin’ but it was more like swimming because we had to swim through the narrow spaces of this delightful eclectic eatery on Asbury Avenue to find our spaces at a really small table. From the ‘wooden indian’ standing guard at the door to the obviously locally painted art work Jon and Patty’s is the type of place that calls to people like me who are hungry for something a little different and tasty. There appears to be a full crew working at Jon and Patty’s and no, I did not ask who was who. There also is an incredible menu of creative coffee’s awaiting the indulgent but for me this was a pure breakfast stop and my need was hot, delicious black coffee with no fancy trimmings added. There are enough classic and unique items on the breakfast menu to satisfy everyone. The ‘stuffed French toast’ encrusted with pecans and stuffed with banana’s had some a“peel” but my test menu item is almost always the corned beef hash and these guys promised me homemade taste. Megan went to the regular menu for the VEGGIEBOMBER omelet filled with goodies plus pesto … and a real bonus is artisan bread. I love it that this is not another strohman’s plastic wrap toast joints. First cup of coffee was just right … ahhh Sunday morning coffee. Did I mention the tight squeeze? I felt like I was sitting with my neighbors so if you have a hint of claustrophobia this won’t be a happy pond for you to swim in. Waiting for breakfast allowed a look around and I really liked some of the paintings but it they were for sale I wouldn’t have known it. And, the people keep on filling Jon and Patty’s; they clearly have a popular winner in Ocean City. Our plates were delivered and I was given two hot sauces to use(Options always are good news and the best news was that neither choice was the standard tabasco red.). The toast was deliciously artisan; I do not understand why more places do not use real bread but oh well. The bad news about the toast … NOTBUTTERED in advance. I do not get this trend in restaurants here in Jersey. Please butter the toast in the kitchen unless asked not to. The other complaint … the jam choices GRAPEJELLY and MIXEDFRUITJELLY. I do not get why any restaurant of merit would even put MIXEDFRUITJELLY out … sugared glob; why does Smuckers even make it? Now this complaint carries no merit because this bread did not need jam or a nice marmalade. It was sooo good. The omelet had a little char but those sprouts were fresh and so great! My hash was not exactly crisp, which is how I like it and how I always order it but the flavor blend verified that this was no store bought hash. The chef knows how to create tasty hash so kudo’s. But, where was the second cup of coffee? HELLO? Yes, that is me sitting in the middle of your restaurant cup in the air hoping someone would fill it with the fresh pot less than 2 feet away. Should I pour it myself. mmmm maybe … it was finally filled with a smile but breakfast time at any restaurant should never find customers longing for their cups to be filled. Every table seemed to be happy with their breakfasts and with the coziness of this fun little eatery that offers a little bit more. Definitely deserving of four stars but also clearly missing on all the cylinders needed for a five star review. I plan to return before the summer season!

Celiacs or gluten intolerants… this is the place for YOU! I recently stayed in northern OCNJ for a weekend with some friends(including one friend who has Celiacs) and we had a hard time finding a restaurant close to our house that was willing to accommodate my friend’s gluten sensitivity. Most restaurants stated that the kitchens were small so they could not guarantee that there would not be cross contamination of gluten. We called Jon & Patty’s and not only were they very friendly but also said that they could accommodate the gluten allergy. Yay! Our waitress was very kind and informed us that anything on the menu(sandwiches, wraps) could be made with gluten free bread instead and there would not be any cross contamination. I ordered the fish tacos with a side of black bean salad. The tacos were yummy, yummy, yummy! At first the waitress informed me that they had run out of the spicy mango sauce(bummer…) so she offered to put avocado on my tacos instead. To my surprise when they brought out my food the spicy mango sauce was indeed on my tacos(chefs whipped me up a fresh batch) and I got my avocado. Score! All of my friends were very happy with their meal. Another friend ordered Berry Pancakes(strawberries and blueberries) which smelled sweet and delicious from across the table. Since this friend was pregnant I was not even going to try and take a bite. I’ll be sure to order that next time I come down. I really enjoyed this restaurant. Not only because the food was good, but because the servers and owner(Jon) was very compassionate with my Celiac friend. That, my friends, is how you run a business!
