So, I live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, which means I have access to the best coffee shops available. So when I come home to South Jersey I struggle to find a latte that doesn’t SCREAM bitter once you take a sip. Hug a Mug has the best latte, hands down, that you can find. Especially in Ocean City. Quality coffee, made well, and they can make them almond if you want! Just don’t ask for a Flat White.

We found this place on our last day in Ocean City and I wish we’d found it earlier in the week. Sandwiches and breakfast special are great and prices are very reasonable! They brew their own ice tea and squeeze their own lemonade, so their Arnold Palmer is the bomb. Their Bolivian salsa is pretty kickin’ too.

went for breakfast — everything was fresh and had good flavor. the service was great, everyone was super friendly. my only complaint is the home fries are a tad dry and bland. I got the veggie omelet that came with home fries and I ordered a side of bacon. bacon was crispy and yummy, veggies in the omelet still had some crunch to them — I can’t stand when an omelet comes out with mushy veggies and it’s all soggy sitting in a pool of water.
nice big cups of coffee and my favorite — little pitchers of cream. nothing drives me more nuts than to have to sit there and open packet after packet of those creamers that sit out all day long.
we got the chocolate coconut scone to go and it is HEAVEN.
can’t wait to try lunch.

So happy they opened. Food was terrific. I had an egg white Spanish omelet and my husband had the Challah French toast. Coffee served in big mugs with free refills. Lots of people coming in for their baked goods. Susan, our server, was delightful. We are in the neighborhood. We will be back often.

I was very excited to see this open as I’ve been missing the establishment 2 prior for 2 years now, but I have to say, I just don’t get it. It’s called Hug a Mug, with a coffee mug as the logo, so you’d think it was a coffee shop. However, its not. Its a sit down restaurant that has a coffee and baked good take out counter, and I mean take-out literally. There’s no establised seating where you can sit and enjoy your cup of coffee, those are for the sit down diners. The food did look good though if you want a sit down meal. but the name Hug a Mug, is very misleading.

Great and friendly service. Family owned. I’m Gluten Free and they didn’t have any options but the owner was nice enough to have the chef cook my omelet in a pan. It’s in the old who’s on first location, not the same scones but I hear they are good and moist! I would definitely come check it out. A really cute coffee bar– will have to come back and try it out then extend my review.

Such a cute place. The cheese danish was absolutely delicious. Will definitely come back to try more of what’s on their menu. Very friendly owner and staff. I can’t wait to try their espresso drinks.
