Dolle’s Candyland

This is the original Dolle’s and you can taste it in the quality of their candies.
My friend and I went to the shore and walked the boardwalk. This location has an outdoor area where they sell stuff and they have a walk in part of the store as well. I bought a caramel apple outside and some taffy inside. Also, they had free samples and you were encouraged to try some!
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the history of Dolle’s. I really liked that. The woman I spoke with even pointed out the pictures on the wall of the man who started Dolle’s, when we were speaking out the history. The place is clean and has lot of candy choices!
I wish I lived closer but maybe it’s a good thing that I don’t because I would be here a lot. Yum! I know I will go every time I’m at the shore.

Popped by for samples. Gregory was very cool about providing them and made sure to plant the seeds for my return they were amazing (vanilla for the win)! Eventually I was making my way back down the boardwalk and saw the Dolle’s sign, out of loyalty to Gregory and his fantastic customer service skills I took a pound of delicious vanilla saltwater taffy home. I think he needs a raise. Seriously

(6÷27÷2015) Dolle’s has been around since the beginnings of the Boardwalk since 1910! It’s a great place to stop in for quality salt water taffy and chocolates. The milk chocolates are über creamy. You can mix and match for $ 18/​lb. The service is very friendly and let me be a pain in the ass, I asked for one of every kind of chocolate and they obliged. It’s in the trifecta of food places one hits on a trip to the shore (in addition to Thrasher’s Fries and Fisher’s Popcorn).

We love this place and stop by every time we are in OC. The workers are super sweet and patient with my kids while they pick out an assortment of gummies.
Other candy stores only let the kids pick up 3 types of gummies at Dolles, they allow the kids to chose as many different kinds as they would like. They are always patient as my 2 kids pick out their gummies.
In addition they offer free taffy samples. The workers are so kind and sweet.
This business is a diamond in the rough on the boardwalk.
Stop in and patronize the businesses that deserve it.

I love this place — we hit it every trip to OC! They have the best saltwater taffy in OC. You can even pick a mix so you avoid the ones you don’t like!
This little shop on the south end of the Boardwalk is packed tight with one narrow path through the store, but the treats are sooooo yummy and worth it!
I recommend the taffy, of course, and also the fresh marshmallows dipped in caramel (which you can then get dipped in chocolate… Or dipped in chocolate then covered in M&Ms!!! Whaaaat??).

This is my favorite Dolle’s store. It has everything from chocolate to Candy Apples. Its a small store but packed. They have the best taffy and chocolates. I always visit. The people are usually friendly working there, I like that you can do frequent buyer cards. It is nice to get little perks. It is just a MUCH better option than Candy Kitchen…

A vacationing co-​worker of mine recently brought back a box of Dolle’s Salt Water Taffy, and I got to sample the last 2 pieces before the Morlocks hogged the rest.
Taffy’s a funny thing. It’s chewing gum for people that don’t like chewing gum. With taffy, you get the mouthfeel and the flavor, but instead of having to stick a wad of tasteless putty under a table (I’ve never done such an uncouth thing, but…), you just swallow when you’re finished. Forget about smacking, blowing bubbles, and other such (annoying ?) childhood tricks. Taffy’s the gum you can eat.
Dolle’s has been making taffy and many other treats for just over a century now, and if everything else they manufacture is as good as the Peppermint Taffy I had yesterday, then they will be around for a centuries more.
