Hotel is nice. Lots of amenities and very busy. Rating so low due to booking issues. Booked directly through company to avoid these types of issues. Explained to Sandy the sales rep that I would be traveling with my one year old daughter and was concerned about noise level based on previous reviews. Somehow ended up with room directly beside atrium despite request for quieter room. Requested different room at front desk, no options available with out upcharge. Called supervisor of Carousel. Left informative message of situation and my concern about the miscommunication. I believe his name was Patric. Non the less my call was not returned and nothing has been done to remedy the situation. And honestly I’m not one to complain but when spending an excessive amount for a comfortable vaca. LOUDMUSICPLAYEDUNTIL10PMTHATISCLEARLYHEARDIN «partial ocean view» HOTELROOM! Kinda a big deal for my one year old trying to sleep, especially when concern was clearly expressed during booking.

Stayed here last week. The room was decent but definitely in need of some TLC. The table in the small kitchenette area would fall apart if we moved it away from the wall. The beds were comfortable and the TV worked. We did not use the phone so I am not sure how well that worked. The air conditioner worked just fine. The refrigerator was a typical hotel unit and the freezer was excellent! We freeze bottled water to take around with us during the day and it did its job every time. We only asked for housekeeping on two days and they did a great job on those days. The beach behind the hotel was superb. My daughters and I got up nearly every morning to hunt for shells and we never came away empty handed. In fact, we found two nearly intact whelk shells on one day. That was pretty amazing to us. The indoor pool was good. It is relatively large and the chlorine level is not overpowering. It was a bit noisy but I expect that when a ton of kids are swimming. There is an ice show at the hotel rink every night. We went to the first of the season. You won’t mistake this for Disney on Ice but the show was cute and I believe that the performers did their level best, especially considering the size and odd layout of the rink. Parking at the hotel is very close. If your car can escape without a ding then you either have a very small car or very good luck.

This is a really great hotel for the most part. It’s modern, beachfront access, and there’s lot to do in the hotel itself. Our room was really clean upon arrival. Housekeeping cleaned our room when we left to the beach and cleaned it well once again, but they did forget to clean the tub. The only cons about this place is the air conditioning made a loud, roaring noise about every 45 minutes, and the restaurants are nothing special. For dinner my roll was smushed and the crab cake was mushy, and it was overpriced. Other than that, this hotel is great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Ocean City.

This isn’t a 4-star hotel but my experience was. Great oceanfront room, helpful staff, nicely planned & landscaped outdoor area. No complaints.

First time in this hotel. Not impressed. Super noisy, rooms face an indoor ice rink and restaurant, it is midnight right now and my 7th year old still can’t fall sleep due to the noise, do not even consider a nap in the afternoon or early night the music is loud. Room was clean but very run down and outdated in general.

Great family hotel! The rooms are ample and clean. The indoor ice skating rink is great! I have been coming here for the past 10 years or so and I recommend reserving an atrium room that faces the skating rink if your kid(s) enjoy skating for hours on end. Parents can keep an eye on their kids from the balcony! The pool is nice but overly chlorinated. The long and short of it is that I really love this place, especially during off peak season. You could really get a great deal!

There’s a difference between an old hotel & dirty hotel, and to me this hotel is just an older hotel, that hasn’t really updated. its rooms, lobby area or restaurant. Walking into our room I expected a horror show, because of some reviews I read, but I have to say, the room was big, it was clean, a bit of a musty smell, fridge was clean, microwave was clean, bathroom was clean, good hot water, shower head pretty strong &NOBEDBUGS! The bed was comfortable enough the only thing we didn’t like was the fact that the comforter was more for summer weather, we were there this weekend(FEBRUARY) but we had some blankets in the truck, so that worked out. We ate dinner in the restaurant the night we got there, because we were starving and didn’t feel like getting back in truck to look for a restaurant after driving 31⁄2 hours, it was OK, nothing special, waitress was nice enough & my glass of wine, did the trick, the french onion soup was a bit salty, my crab cake was not bad & the fries were good! A bit pricey, but that’s any hotel restaurant, we were there for a Cheer leading Competition, so the hotel was filled with cheerleaders and parents from all over, I have to say our team(15 – 18 yr olds) 16 girls in all, really enjoyed themselves while in hotel, from ice skating to hot tub and just hanging out in hotel area by the snack bar,(they serve ice cream, popcorn & cotton candy & smoothies, not sure of all the prices) they girls had a blast, My morning coffee was fresh & hot!!! All in all not a bad stay, the front desk ladies I dealt with were polite & professional, If I couldn’t get a more updated place next time, I would stay here again !!

I had an amazing time here. The kids loved the ice skating rink and indoor pool. I love the staff and management, when I went swimming with the kids I lost a very dear earring. I realized I lost it when I got back to my room, I notified the pool attendant and Amber politely took my name and room number. I returned to my room and about 5 min later I got a call it was found! Amber had asked someone with swimming googles to look for my earring. She didn’t have to do that, she could have sat there. She did what her requirement she took my name and info down. I notified her boss Ross cause I felt he needed know the kind of employee she is. He informed me he would speak to her and thank her and sure enough he did. So many places I’ve been to claim to care but don’t follow through but it was nice to see that the management of the Carousel is a «man of their word»

Carousel has it all! If you are looking for a great family vacation spot in Ocean City, this is it! We rent a condo from a private owner every year. It’s beautiful. Clean, awesome balcony view of ocean and bay. Research your condo rental carefully because I’ve read many experiences are not as good. We have been coming every summer for 10 straight years. Beautiful area by pool with outdoor bar, adorn with gorgeous palms trees and flowers. Live entertainment everyday. Kids love ice skating and the movie on the beach. Restaurant has specials everyday. BBQ night is the best. A ton of food for great price. Parking can be challenging, you can always get a spot in the garage next door but it’s a bit of a walk. Worth it.

YOUHAVEGOTOBEKIDDINGME!!! I called to make a reservation and some lady picked up. I tried asking her about a conference that was suppose to happen in October. She got really nasty with me and stated that she had no clue of what i was talking about. But the way she responded was not appropriate! ask to speak to RESERVATION manger she stated«mam, here at carousel there is two sides to the story» Ive stayed at this hotel every year but will definitely AVOID because they don’t know how to be respectful!!!

This resort was awesome! I stayed here with my mom and sister for a week for 4th of July and it was beautiful. Friendly, inviting atmosphere and a lot of things to do. The beach is right there and there is a snack bar, plus drinks right outside. You get two complimentary beach chairs everyday. I loved the ice skating rink. Room service was excellent and they worked very hard even vacuuming the hallways each and every day. Room was clean and spacious. Another plus was that I could see the fireworks clearly from the parking lot on the 4th of July! It was lovely. I will definitely want to come back here next I am in ocean city, it’s really a great experience! And the staff are so friendly and hardworking.

My friends and I stayed here on a Saturday and Sunday night in mid-August, Upon check-in we received a parking pass for the lot and the garage next door as well as two passes for free beach chair rentals. The room upon arrival appeared to be clean. We had 5 people stay in a room so they brought an extra bed in for us. They had a flat screen TV, a fridge, a microwave, and a table and chairs as well. The AC also gave us no problems. The biggest issue I had was that they elevators took forever, so luckily we were on the second floor so we just took the stairs. Also, we went to the beach on Sunday from noon to three, and when we came back to our room housekeeping had not yet stopped by. We were all gross from the beach, had no clean towels, no tissues, and no toilet paper. We were able to flag down a housekeeper in the hallway and told her to just address the bathroom because we didn’t want to waste our day waiting around to shower and that our beds didn’t have to be made for time saving. I really wish they had cleaned the room before we got back from the beach, I won’t be coming back.

Good things: clean rooms upon check in, great location, 2 pools, jacuzzi, bar, restaurant, complimentary beach chairs. Bad things: indoor pool and jacuzzi need renovation, lazy room cleaning service(in 3 nights they came only once and we had to remind to clean our room twice. also when came– just changed towels and did our beds, no vacuuming the carpet or changing the bedding) Very slow elevator, faster to use stairs if you live not on a top floor.

Okay not sure why all the bad reviews??? The place was great we checked in and got our room it was clean and spacious. The price was within our range and just for a little more you can get a ocean front view. Okay so now please let us stop slamming the staff. I had the opportunity to speak with one of the staff and a lot of them are on a work program. I know that they may not remember everything but if you ask they will tell you. Lets be honest people makes mistakes and forget things every now and then especially when it is your first job. Just try to remember your first gig. Okay so moving on to the parking in front of the resort there is a big parking lot but if you look over the street there is a four level garage just for this place. They do have the following: Breakfast, bars, ice rink with daily shows, game room(not the best you can get better outside of area), indoor and out door pools. Over all it was totally worth it and we will definatelly be re-visting.

Resort is real convenient. Surprised no bell services for a 300+ room hotel. We booked hotel a few days before we arrived. At 11:30AM only one person at check in on a Friday which caused delayed. We came back in an hour and room was ready. Resort noted each room has a balcony, but they don’t. We entered our room to find a tiny horizontal window. We thought we were getting a balcony– that’s one of the reasons I booked. We went back down to welcome desk with all luggage and I explained our predicament. The gentleman at desk was not friendly and didn’t go out of his way to make us happy. He implied that I didn’t have much of a room choice since I booked with . I felt really discriminated against as I didn’t save a lot of $. He put me on first floor outside of bar. Great location but didn’t feel safe with 2 kids so I went back and asked if any other rooms were available. He didn’t even check and said no. Felt like a resort. Bar at pool was great but bartender didn’t know how to make specialty drinks. Literally steps to beach from door. Loved 2 comp beach chairs! Have best crab cakes sandwiches. Neat having skating rink but not in great condition; 2 pools great: outdoor pool tiny; indoor pool not clean. Only 2 tables outside hotel patio for guests to use after closing– not enough for 300+ rooms. Check-in manager not nice; maid service late; patio locks broken, and air conditioning DIDNOT work. I will definitely try the Carousel again, but with working air conditioning and working locks. PS: Stayed Here July 17 – 19.

What is with the bad and mediocre reviews? This place is quite nice. Rooms are very nice for the area. Location couldn’t be better. Staff is nice. Plenty of parking. Last year we stayed at the Clarion Fountainbleu. This is sooo much better and less money. People are weird.

AVOID! AVOID! So far I’ve only stayed one night but it keeps getting worse. In a condo on 17th floor. Upon check in crazy wait time and squishing to get in an elevator. Unit has ¼″ dust on it and dish ware was filthy. Our feet get black if we walk from bedroom to kitchen once. Under kitchen sink there is a bucket of god-knows-what-water-mix bc the disposal leaks. The tv in living room has a horrible picture and took 18 hours for staff to get us a functional/programmed remote. Still takes 25 minutes to get in or out b/c of the elevator situation. If you have kids I would never step foot in this place.

We rented a pretty roomy two bedroom apartment here. This place has a lot to offer since it has an ice rink, shops, restaurants, outdoor and indoor pools. The beach its right there which makes it very convenient. There are plenty of restaurants walking distance especially my favorite Crabcake Factory(2 blocks away). Since our apartment had a full kitchen we took advantage of the supermarket across the street and got some breakfast items and drinks. Its not close to the boardwalk but you can either drive(about 10 mins), take the bus which is right across the hotel($ 3 for a day pass) or take a taxi. I would stay here again.

Most of what you read in other reviews is true, both the good and the bad. Some other thoughts: The pools are monitored to make sure you have a room key, but they don’t have a lifeguard. Where is the priority? There are lots of child friendly amenities, so if you don’t have kids, and/or you don’t like kids, this is not the place for you. Things are fairly clean(average). The amount of amenities would be a five star, but the customer service is a two. The view from the beach front rooms is amazing, but noisy. Consider which you want when you cost which room to book.

It’s been 20 some years and I keep going back. I’m sure there are fancier places in OC but I’m not one for change. The rooms are clean and have plenty of towels, toiletries an iron and hair dryer. The staff are so friendly and the outdoor bar and grill has great inexpensive food. Each night they offer a different dinner special like BBQ night, lobster night, all you can eat crab legs and Mexican food night at very reasonable prices. 2 free chairs rental and a free family photo voucher. Free movies on the beach. Love the indoor ice skating rink. The gift shop offers souvineers and swim suits and all kinds of cute things. Big parking lot out front and a huge outdoor parking garage. Make sure you take at least two forms of ID because one day they say most drivers licenses are fake and the next day they say most passports are fake so make sure if you want to drink at the bar and grill outside you have a couple of forms of ID. There’s a grocery store across the street. Carousel offers condo rentals weekly and bi-weekly. Many options for regular rooms from ocean view to bar patio rooms. Indoor and outdoor pools and a kiddie pool. The large fry will feed about 10 people. It’s not fancy but its clean, reasonably priced, friendly and has great patio food and a snack bar inside with bagels and pretzels and donuts etc. It’s the kind of hotel that all ages enjoy.
