I’m on fire island and honestly didn’t expect much from this spot, maybe an entire pie would taste better than the dry slices I’ve had. I’d rather walk down towards schooners and eat pizza from that joint right there, in fact, I have. Way better.

Came here for my friends bachelorette party and they were super accommodating! They easily sat our table of 12 and were incredibly nice. We shared a few main dishes, garlic knots and salads. The highlight of my meal were the meatballs — absolutely ridiculous! The buffalo chicken bites were also baked and not fried and provided tons of flavor. To end the night I got cheesecake to go and it did not disappoint. Michael was so sweet and gave us an app or 2 on the house and the best service around. Will certainly be back :)

We waited two hours for a table then they said they ran out of linguine and the steak. Really?

The pizza, generally, is really good. The BBQ chicken pizza is amazing! We came back three more times for it. The pasta is really overpriced for a pizza place, so we didn’t even try it. This place serves beer and some hard liquor. They have a great late night deal of pizza and shots on the weekends. The employees here are very friendly, helpful and polite.

Andddddd Michael’s comes through with the win every time! I’ve eaten dinner here a few times, and while I’m not thrilled with the prices, the pasta entrees are just too good! Having to entertain guests when they visit us, after a long day and night of drinking, Michael’s really pulls through! We love getting drunken pizza here with our hungry guests after visiting the bars because they are open very late on the weekends(somewhere around 4AM!) The pizza is amazing and HUGE! For those wishing to continue the party, beer is also served! This place is a must before stumbling home.

Just enjoyed a fantastic meal at Michael’s. We are former New Yorkers now living in California. We are here for our annual visit to Ocean Beach. My husbands one and only choice for his birthday dinner tonight was Michael’s. Exceptional and delicious food and fantastic service. Fine dining in a comfortable and casual environment.

My husband and I had dinner here this weekend. The service was excellent and the food was very good. The guy in charge(owner’s friend?) was very friendly and made an excellent recommendation(the specials: I had the snapper, my husband had the bass). The service staff was efficient and friendly. The food was very good. The negatives were that it was crowded, and unfortunately because of the area, there were several drunk patrons being very noisy.

Specialty slices rock here; I’ve tried the chicken parm and also buffalo chicken– both awesome. Nice people at the counter and plenty of seating available. Open super late(4am on weekends) and has beer too? Sweeeeeeet. Definitely a clutch pit stop before stumbling home or catching the ferry.

If you go to Fire Island and don’t eat at Michael’s, you’re doing yourself a major disservice. I ate there on a recent trip to Fire Island and it was the best meal I’ve had in a while. We started with the signature salad(delicious). We shared a special appetizer of scallops with tomatoes, bacon and mushrooms that was *phenomenal.* I also had scallops at the Schooner and the Landing that trip and there was no comparison. For entrees, I had the shrimp and risotto truffle — it was amazing. Truly. Shrimp, bacon, mushrooms, garlic, tomatoes and fresh mozzarella in a risotto that was perfectly al dente. The flavors were all well balanced, and complemented each other nicely. My husband had the chicken saltimbocca — it was absolutely delicious, and the risotto side was outstanding. We finished the meal with a slice of Nutella cheesecake. Fantastico. We definitely felt fat and happy on the walk back to the hotel. I regret the meals we had at other restaurants on our trip. We should have just eaten at Michael’s every night.

So here’s the scoop on this place: Food: Apps– we had the mozz, basil and roasted red peppers appetizer and the grilled vegetables. Both very yummy! The mozz needed a little salt but everything else was great. Wow! The Cajun fish tacos an absolute must!!! Really tasty. Seasoned REALLLY well and good chunks of fish too! They don’t skimp out on the good stuff! Loved them!!! Entrees — wow! The baked chicken parm was amazing!!! And the pasta was al dente! I want some now while I’m writing this. Dessert– the crepes! Wow! A must have! Seriously! Try them. I liked the Nutella with bananas better than the Oreos with peanut butter(PB). I think adding some crushed hazelnuts inside would have added some good texture. The flavors are a great combo though! I didn’t really like the Oreo with PB combo. Oreos may be better with a coffee flavored crème fraîche or a simple whipped cream with strawberry pieces and Oreos The venue: it’s not a fancy place inside. But it’s worthwhile bc the food is so yummy!!! And the restaurant is a bit warm and probably needs an AC that can cool the place but it was bearable. I think to top of the great food was the great company. The owner, Mike and one of his chefs, Garfield are awesome. Ask for them! They are super nice and the reason why I would be a regular here instead of Mermaid. The owner John at Mermaid is rude and comes off like an ass. I would never give someone like that my business. Michael’s… Good people and great food! Can’t get any better than that! Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

A taste of Italy at the beach. You have to try the Nutella cheesecake and the tugged and the stuffed artichokes. We love everything from the pizza to the entrees. Great place to cater from as well. It’s definitely worth a visit.

Best pizza, pasta and entrees in Ocean beach. Had the fish special(striped bass), it was great! Relaxed atmosphere that FI is famous for.

Michael’s Restaurant is the BEST place to get a great meal(not only pizza-which is awesome) at a charming place in the town of Ocean Beach. The staff is incredible, the chef(Michael!) is dedicated to each dish he cooks and often brings it out to the table himself! The kids’ meals are excellent and it is an extremely kid friendly place(lots of wiki sticks!) Also great for late night adult dining… and after hours(after a drink or two!)…HOTPIZZA! Caters to large family parties and lots of Bachelor/Bachelorette parties!

Best food and service in the island. Nothing is fried. You could think is just a pizza place but it’s actually one of the best restaurants in town. If you are around you should definitely get in and try their food. For a friday or a saturday night you actually should call to reserve your spot since it get packed!!!

Best slice I ever had EVER!!! Marinated Tomato slice was worth ever dollar. My husband and I were so impressed with our slices, that we wound up going to dinner there later in the week. The Michael’s Special Salad and the Spaghetti Militaire was memorable. We can’t wait to go back. Worth the trip…

I visit this place often, whether it is for a late-night slice of pizza or a sit-down dinner. The pizza is great– lots of unique pies with their signature sesame seed crust. The chef-owner, Michael, is welcoming and often comes out to greet diners. Garfield, his sous chef, is super-friendly and always recommends what is best on the menu that night. The fish is always fresh and I have never had a dinner I didn’t enjoy. The portions can be large, so you may want to share if you are looking to have an appetizer and dessert, which I HIGHLY recommend. The restaurant is known for the homemade Nutella cheesecake– think, rich, fudgey, and worth the calories. Also good are the stuffed crepes– I like the fresh ground peanut butter and Oreo crêpe, though they are sometimes too buttery and thicker than a tradition crêpe, somewhere between a pancake and crêpe. Nevertheless, this is definitely a great place.

We went to Michael’s on a Wednesday for lunch and it was delicious! We loved it so much we went back for dinner. The place was pretty packed for a Wednesday night. I would highly recommend the chicken saltimbocca! Pair it with a glass of sangria and you have yourself a relaxing evening. I can’t help but describe the friendly, attentive staff as well. Michael along with his son checked in on us repeatedly. I will definitely be back. It was the perfect ending to our day at the beach.

I had 3 things — not pizza — and they were all excellent. Started with baked clams which were de-shelled into these creative sterling silver half clam shells. Then we split the shrimp risotto splashed with white truffle oil and the baked, not fried chicken parm. Both excellent, the white truffle oil can be overpowering but in this case was way in the background and perfect. Chick parm was classically delish. Well done — I recommend.

$ 3.75 a slice and $ 5.75 for Broc Rab sausage slice. $ 6.50 for beer and $ 8.50 for sangria and the place is a dingy pizza shop. To top it off I got the food which was so bland that the weak crust couldn;t support the cheap ingredient pizza. To make it worse the young lady at the front told me I couldnt sit down to eat my over priced cheese and dough. 75% of the tables were empty… BOOHOO to this ripoff joint!!!
