Total Sonny’s ripoff but not even as good and more expensive to boot.
I had the Saint Louis ribs with fries and coleslaw and it was 19 bucks with tip it was 24 bucks and it wasn’t that good. Ribs were dry but didn’t taste bad but Sonny’s are better and I’m not a fan of Sonny’s either.
The restaurant was a total Sonny’s knockoff, from the takeout window to the placement of cash registers and even the restrooms were in the same spot as Sonny’s.
I won’t be going back.

The service was good and the food is served quickly. The salad bar has a good selection and includes two soup choices. The sides were very good — macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and green beans; and the garlic bread was decent. The baby back ribs were tender (A+) but came sauced (boo!). There wasn’t as much flavor I could detect from the rub they used. My daughter enjoyed her kids meal (chicken strips) but we are not fans of crinkle fries. Even though we didn’t partake in the soft serve ice cream, it’s a nice touch to offer that free at the end of your meal.

Had a pulled pork sandwich on garlic bread and side of greens. The pork sandwich was very skimmpy. Price was very high for what I got. I was looking for smoke flavor there was none. Greens were good. I won’t be back. I’m still looking for a good BBQ in Marion County

This is a no-​frills BBQ restaurant with timely service, good food, and a laid back atmosphere. The convenient location was a selling point for the group I dined with. Nothing stood out as something I couldn’t wait to return to enjoy, but I might make it a point to go back and try another menu item in hopes of finding a bigger wow factor. Prices are very reasonable, more so than the listing indicated in my opinion.

Ordered the St Louis ribs and brisket combo with fries and beans. The ribs were good (not as good as Sonnys, but good) and the brisket was AMAZING. The beans were just okay and the fries were good. This place reminds me of Sonny’s in almost every way. Overall, it’s better than Sonnys.

This place opened strong but went downhill fast, as apparently the way they manage their kitchen is to fire everyone instead of training them, and then settling for mediocrity. As a result the food is now either cold, dry, seasoned improperly, etc. I have never seen such poor kitchen management, but I guess this is to be expected in a startup. Sad, because the food was great when it opened.

New restaurant and checking in. Wife had prime rib sandwich and said it was best she ever had. I had the baby backs and have to agree that they are best in Marion county but not the best in Florida as you will have to try Oakwood smokehouses in lake county 4 locations. You get a larger portion.
This restaurant has plenty of parking, their slaw, beans were good. Next time I will try the brisket as it’s supposed to be great. Free ice cream when done. Service was great. Back again to day 1÷5÷16 outstanding again. This time I had the Prime Rib sandwich and it was the best I’ve ever eaten.

Debbie our waitress was excellent. Pulled pork was tender and tasty. Salad bar was fresh and plentiful. Ice tea was bottomless. Chicken and dumpling soup needed a little pepper. But that is personal preference. Excellent lunch.

The food is excellent but I can’t say the same about the service. I went there with a friend and before I finished my soda the waitress was asking us to pay because she had to clock off. We felt like we were being kicked out after spending $ 40??? They lost two customers and will probably lose many more…

Just what Ocala needs, another imitation chain bbq. For some reason developers think we need more? Nothing special. Very sparsely decorated inside. The waitstaff was friendly and the food arrived quickly and hot in a paper lined plastic basket. Went for the lunch special of pulled pork. Sauces were bland. I guess for $ 8 (including a drink) you can’t expect very much. Next time I’ll drive for real bbq. Too bad since there are not many restaurants out 200.

Went back to give it another try. Thought maybe we would have better luck this time. … wrong. Went through the drive thru and purchased the ¼ chicken bbq dinner. The size of the chicken looked like a quail! We’re definitely done!

Went on opening day, and ordered the Prime Rib sandwich. It was awesome, and the sender service super fast. However, I’ve been back twice since for lunch. The service is still great, but the sandwiches, a pulled pork and a brisket were more roll then meat. This is not good, and Hardwood Smoke House is just up the road.

Tim was great server taking care of fountain drinks that had been crossed up. We split a baby back rib combo that included chicken and pulled pork. It took us longer to pick out what we wanted then it did to get the food. Fast service. Nothing was especially hot when it arrived but it was pretty tasty. The fries were somewhat undercooked. Some were crunchy inside. But I tend to like my fries extra crispy. There is no gluten free menu and the staff doesn’t seem to know much about that. Liked the bold sauce a lot. And you can’t beat free soft serve on the way out

Nothing special but nice. Workers from cleaners up to lady in charge were great our waitress was Shelby and had personality plus! Sweet potatoes were the best… corn bread was cold and tough… Meat was cool… But really good taste. Out of ice cream cones…)0:

Went on this past Wednesday at 11:30AM, no wait. We Ordered Baby back lunch with cornbread and sweet potato. The cornbread and sweet potato were hot, the ribs were not! Plenty of meat on the ribs but not exciting… They were served were served by someone other than our waitress. When we paid the cashier, told her about our problem. She asked we told our waitress so she could us another order. We told her,” she never offered!” End of story. The ice cream on the way out is a nice touch.

Can’t give it less so it’s a one star. Why? The St Louis ribs were tough and stringy. No way we’re those slow smoked from scratch. The pulled pork ordered by my husband tasted like left overs. The French fries were from frozen. The turnip greens and green beans definitely were precut and not made fresh there. .but tasty so I reluctantly allow the one star. I won’t go back. Try Hardwood Smokehouse. They are way better.

Glad to have a smoked meat restaurant in SW Ocala. Very busy but only waited 25 minutes to be seated. The service was awesome. The ½ barbeque chicken was perfect. Love the sweet and tangy sauce. The ranch beans were delicious. The salad bar was just average. Free ice cream is a plus. The price is what you would expect. Would go again.

Place finally open!!! Went for lunch and was packed. When leaving there was a line to get in. I had sweet tea, corn nuggets, pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. The good was great, but one thing I like is a more creamy coleslaw. The service was good and friendly. Didn’t wait to long on food. Went to pay and there was free soft serve ice cream! Would go back to try something else.
