Country Inns & Suites by Carlson Ocala

The ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars was because of how close to 200 it is so the noise level was a little troublesome but that is really no fault of the hotel or staff. The room was great, it was clean and just the right size. Sure it had a little wear and tear but so what? The staff was very nice and the breakfast was great for being free. The hotel was fully booked and there was a traveling soccer team from Texas but you would have never know it. I would definitely book this hotel again.

I do not understand why the reviews are so negative here. I stayed here for 2 weeks while i was working in Ocala. It has been a very accommodating stay. The manager Carolyn was exceptional in every way. I was quite frustrated when I first arrived. But Carolyn fixed it immediately.
The breakfast is different every day. They served bacon and eggs then bisquits and gravy, and even had a breakfast burrito station which is once a week. This went along with the regular continental breakfast. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They would clear plates when you finished eating, and also asked if you needed more coffee, which they would bring a fresh cup if you said yes.
The internet is decent and free!
The beds were comfy and clean. The rooms were average size with a mini frig and microwave. Lcd tv’s were in the rooms were 32″ screens were new. We also had showtime available.
The only thing that was slighlty annoying is the entrance to the hotel. It is located by a free off ramp and a large street divider, so you can enter the property only going east. Which meant when coming to the hotel you had to pass the freeway overpass and make a u-​turn at a slow light before waiting at another light before arriving. Ugh! They need a back entrance.
I wish I could stay here for the last weeks that I am in the area, but my company is sending me to a «days inn» in gainsville. Yuck! Such a bummer

Just back from 3 days in this filthy, smelly dump. Staff nice though.
Checked in, corp booking for me,$ 104+taxes.
Small dark room, no fridge, no sofa, not nice for 3 days.
Night receptionist, Tangela gave us a replacement, mini suite, fridge, sofa, 2 tvs for NO EXTRA FEES.(my wife is a travel agent, perhaps that helped!)Everywhere smelled of bleach/mildew.Fan was going on our floor day and night. Average breakfast but no eggs on 2^nd day. Room service! Hah… made bed, new towels, NO cleaning of floors, bathroom or ANYWHERE. No new toiletries by end of stay.
On checkout, manager (?Lydia) upped the rate to $ 112.50 and would not budge, even though we have 5 more weeks to work in Ocala and need a decent hotel.
Customer lost to Homewood Suites a mile away for the same or less price, with evening manager food and drinks for free!
Oh, very difficult to return to hotel by car. Have to go past, wait at long light, u-​turn then in.
BTW, cant get wifi on wife’s Ipad in room.

It should have been a clue when I had to enter the hotel parking lot by cutting through a gas station (the only entrance). My room must have been cleaned by someone who was new or had no idea how to clean. The shower curtain was closed and I did not look in it until morning, the reason it was closed was to hide all the mildew on the shower walls. The mold growing on the bathroom ceiling was not very attractive either. This was the third Carlson location I have stayed in in the last three nights and is the only one I would strongly recommend to try to avoid.

Had a really good rate, came up with my mom for Mothers Day Weekend. Had a suite for about $ 70 a night, was a full one bedroom, also had a mini fridge and microwave. The breakfast was very crowded, and out of a lot of stuff, bet hey free is free (its also a full, with eggs, waffles, biscuits & gravy etc) They also have free cookies in the afternoon. My only semi complaints are the lack of parking, and that the pool was HOT, like hotter than a hot tub. Would go back though, if in Ocala again.

Very nice suite with jacuzzi in the main room surrounded by mirrors. Great view of the city from top floors. Very limited space on parking.
