I went to the Bob Evans in Fairfax va on a Sunday around 1:00 — Extremely busy — granted it was a Sunday. Only one cashier to ring, only 1 host to seat that I saw in my wait. The host seemed very disorganized very uneasy and nervous, but still kind. Food was very good as I had not been to one in a long time. The server was Adam — he was very knowledgeable about the menu had great suggestions and overall very professional. I was impressed with the food. Cashier was Jeannie very friendly and got us on our way. (By the way by 2:00 it was much more calm much less chaos).

I like their three course dinner. This 3 course Dinner includes salad or soup, entrée, and dessert. Their bread is a endless offer. You can request as much as you want. Most of time I ordered fish for my entrée. it came with steam vegetable. It was a perfect amount for me and the grill fish was tasty. I am their frequent customers.

The food was good and so was the server, despite that we came in before the impending snowpocalypse hit. Apparently a lot of workers called out sick so they were understaffed. It showed — our breakfast food took 15 minutes to make and somehow they didn’t make my french toast at all. It appeared from the kitchen after about ten more minutes. But the thing that made the most negative mpact on me was the host. There was no host so the assistant manager took over. He hardly said a word to us — I was more friendly than he was. The assistant manager proceeded to grab the menus and just walk to the table. I wasn’t sure if we were supposed to follow him because he said nothing, and when I asked politely«would you like us to follow you, did?» he neither turned around nor responded. It was like he couldn’t wait to get us seated and move on to the people waiting behind us. He was much nicer to them. I’ve worked in restaurants before, and if your assistant manager ignores your customers you should probably reconsider his position in your workplace.

It’s really a shame. I only give this place 2 stars because the breakfast food is so good. The service is horrible. Always. They don’t hire bussers to clean tables and the waiters are too slow and sluggish to buss their own tables. Thus there is always a wait. The host staff walk around talking on their headphones to each other but don’t clear tables(not that they would be able to anyway). Refills-what refills? We went to IHOP yesterday and they had it together. Prompt servers, turned tables quick, competent hosts. Come on Bob Evans get it together!

I love Bob Evans. But todays experience was less than stellar. I orderer carry out of a quart of Chicken Noodle Soup and some biscuits at 6pm. I arrived with the 15 – 20 minutes the kid quoted. I walked in and my order was not yet pulled. But some poor schmuck named Mike, his hot food was sitting on the counter. As my soup still wasn’t ready i sat. It was about 10 minutes while i wait for them to nuke some soup… all the while Mikes«hot» food is still on the counter. As the cashier kid finally gets the kitchen to finish the soup, the manager comes over and asks if everything is okay. I say, no… as it doesn’t take 30 minutes to nuke soup… and i broach the subject of poor Mikes«hot» food. I said, shouldn’t hot food be in a warmer instead of on a counter??? The manager proceeded to say they dont do that… guess ill never be ordering take out from Bob Evans here again… Hot food needs to stay hot and cold, cold… not sitting on the counter until one arrives and it certainly doesn’t take 30 minutes to nuke soup…

For a Saturday morning they were lacking in servers, although there were several empty tables once seated we still had to wait about 20 minutes even though there were only 2 people that had exited in the time we waited. I generally get the french toast which is excellent, and I love that I can get turkey sausage. My husband got the pancakes which he wasn’t a fan of. Their coffee isn’t great either but mind you I’m a bit of a coffee snob and have a keen fondness for Kenya AA. The coffee at Bob Evans reminded me of weak Folgers coffee. We had a coupon and were in the area so that was the other reason we went. Still not a bad option or value as far as breakfast goes.

At least 3 Open tables but 15 min wait — guess not enough servers — poor management planning for a Saturday morning

Compared to IHOP, the food is not as good and doesn’t have that many choices. Not a quite big fan.

I have been going to Bob Evans for so long now, that I Can not believe that I am just now writing a review. This location is right off route 66 in Oakton. Everytime that I have come here I have always been provided with great service and food. Also, be sure to check out their bakery items they are delicious as well.

Terrible service! I was given a half«grilled cheese» that was cold shredded cheese on bread and treated with disdain after I pointed that out. The replacement was a joke as well. Won’t be back. I never thought Is be so disappointed since I knew what I was getting into going to a Bob Evans midday but it was so much worse than I thought that I was compelled to write a review.

This Bob Evans is a very good location. I’ve definitely had some hits and misses with this chain in the past… Here, the staff is always friendly and I get pretty quick service. I love their soups, biscuits and basically anything on the breakfast menu! I will be back again and again :)

Twice now in the past month… this restaurant has closed early without notice. One was because of ice, though their was no sign. The other was at 9:20 pm on a Friday night! Come on people… get with the program! It will be a long time before we patronize this chain again!

The service was terrible! Our food sat under the lamp for quite a while and our server«N» apparently does not know the menu there. My biscuits were stale and dry. I will not be back!

My son and I go to Bob Evans regularly and I find the food decent for the price and the staff generally polite and helpful. But today I had a bad experience. I walked in and stood in the line to reserve a table. A man walked up in front of me and gave his name. When I pointed out to the Bob Evans employee that I was next in line, he just shrugged. Next, standing at the cash register to pay, there was no one to take my money for several minutes. Again, a man walked in front of me and plopped down his credit card, and a female employee immediately walked over to take his card. When I pointed out that I had been waiting for some time, she told me if I didn’t like the service, I could complain. So I am, through this forum and others.

Is this the best breakfast in America? Of course not. But these are the best chain biscuits I can think of, and getting them topped with the famous Bob Evans sausage gravy is the best decision you are going to make if you choose to live/dine in the suburbs and look for quality. The service is always great here and you can crush this place for $ 7.

We stopped by on a Saturday morning around 10:30. We were seated right away. We ordered various breakfast items including scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, hash browns, omelets, turkey sausages, apple bread and mocha. Everything was not very good. We compared the food with the ones from IHOP. I think the food at IHOP is a little better. .The eggs were rubbery. The French toast was wet(on fully cooked eggs) on one side. Hash brown was not crispy. Pancakes were not fluffy. Mocha was super sweet and did not have any coffee taste. Our waiter was really nice. I am not a very picky about my coffee. And I drink my coffee with plenty of sugar and milk. When I mentioned the mocha tasted like hot cocoa, our waiter offered to replaced it with bold coffee. It helped a little bit, but it was still a pretty bad mocha. The décor is dated. But the restaurant is clean, at least cleaner than most IHOP. Most of the customers have silver hair. We probably won’t come back again…

I decided that we should have dinner here today — primarily because I had a kids-eat-free-from-the-kids-menu anytime coupon with purchase of an adult entrée(note: this special normally applies to Tuesdays). This amounts to a free $ 3-$ 4 meal kids meal — drink/dessert not included. At any rate, the food was ok. I had the 3 course meal for $ 9.99 where I chose the beef stew as a starter. I had to go with chicken noodle soup — it was too salty for me. For the meal, I chose the bbq ½ chicken and fries. Not too bad. It appears the chicken may have been baked and then doused with bbq sauce. I chose the chocolate chip cookie for dessert — which I gave to the kid. :) She appeared to be enjoying her bbq pulled pork and corn. It was my first time trying the dinner menu at a Bob Evans. No real complaints here.

Keeping it at four stars. Some things I didn’t mention in my original review are that you might just be surprised at how diverse the menu here — for breakfast, lunch or dinner — actually is. Everything is so delicious, and despite the country-fried-steak-and-deep-dish-chicken-and-gravy options, they actually have a ton of healthful options! I’m talking great salads, fish, grilled dishes, etc. And breakfast is served all day long — including with turkey sausage as an option, whole wheat toast available and all of that. If you thought Bob Evans was a dirty old greasy place for old people, definitely go give it a shot. I frequent this location quite a bit. I can’t speak so much for other locations, but this place is clean, delectable, affordable and has a great setting and amazing service. One star off because they have the weirdest servers. They always seem very socially awkward and don’t understand their boundaries. For example, there was this guy last night named Nate who just kept telling us we should’ve ordered the salmon because«Dat’s good fish dere.» When he took our drink order, he was all like, «Yo, we got dat razzberry ice teas, we got da coffee…» and just kept going on until I cut him off to ask for a Diet Coke. Previous visits had the same thing going on… servers who just lingered too long and tried to strike up conversations about nothing. Just take my order, don’t let my drink get empty and make it snappy please! Thanks!
