Yogurt here is yummy of course. Prices are decent its your local mom and pop place. We come here to support our community. They are small and don’t have a huge selection but enough. The minus 1 star is just because at times they should be open they weren’t but we still come!

Went there for fundraiser with my coworker. It’s always feels good to help and be part of fundraiser. It was my first time at the Island Yogurt. It’s a small ice cream/yogurt shop in downtown Oakley. They have different yogurt flavors, smoothies, ice shave, ice coffee Etc… Also they have big selection of topping like candy, gummy, m&m, nuts, granola, cereal and some fresh fruits. From time to time they change the flavors of the frozen yogurt. The frozen yogurt serve in different sizes. I got the combination of strawberry & banana with almond topping. It was so good!!! Not too sweet, exactly like I like. Their prices are very reasonable. And it’s not goes by weight. They have kids size, small, medium, large or family size. Start as low as $ 2.50 includes topping. They gave me a reward card. With every 10 yogurt/ice cream you buy, you will get one for free. The place is very clean and the owner is very friendly. Definitely coming back here!

I’ve been coming here since I was a young teen. I remember walking from my vintage parkway house during the summer to get a burrito from La Costa and some frozen yogurt from Yogurt Island. Love the flavors. You can try them all if you want. Friendly staff. Excellent for the kids.

Great customer service everytime we go. It’s also very clean. I wish they have more varieties but what they do have is good.

Besides the fact that it seems like they’re never open, their yogurt selection is lacking. They always have just the basics and peanut butter. And they are all super sweet. Would be nice if they had more tart choices:-/ owner is very nice though and prices are better than menchies.

This place is really simple, but cute in its décor. I love the giant chalkboard that the kiddos can draw on while they wait. However, I don’t like that there’s hardly any yogurt options. There’s about four flavors, that’s it. There’s zero fresh fruit toppings offered and frankly, the yogurt tastes like aspartame. I got the strawberry, so I can’t really say if the other flavors share this issue, but I can tell you that after three bites of the strawberry, my mouth tasted as If I had downed several Equal packets. There’s pretty much zero strawberry flavor to it, only that nasty artificial sweetener taste. I ended up just throwing it out. Now twenty minutes later and the taste of aspartame is still lingering on my tongue. Yuck! I get that there needs to be a sugar free option for people with health restrictions, but in most places there is usually a traditional version as well and the sugar free stuff is clearly marked as such, so the people whom can’t stand the taste of artificial sweeteners will be forwarned. I have been to this place in the past and I remember it being a lot better and having more of a selection. Well, if it did, it certainly doesn’t now. I think I’ll just stick to going to Menchies. The drive out to Brentwood is worth it for the wide selection and yogurt that doesn’t taste like a mouthful of nutrasweet.

Frozen yogurt that tastes like it’s from the old school. I’m talking pre-TCBY here. Real vanilla and chocolate flavors. Strawberry was really bland, and with an incredibly large portion, I didn’t even bother finishing my 8-ouncer. Stars for being by far the least-expensive yogurt shop around, and a small local business. If the flavor could somehow be increased and if they got boba for a topping, I’d consider upping the star-count.

Yogurt island was my first job so it holds a special spot in my heart. Happy to see it’s still open and using the same yogurt it always has. I’m not a fan of the tart froyo that the competition in the area use. Yogurt island serves authentic vanilla and I love it! 3 stars because of that but deducted 2 because of the staff and plain environment. Haven’t gone in once and had staff member seem happy to be there. Sad that the mural is gone… Like the theme they have going on but it’s so plain. Needs more pizazz! Definitely kept up much better though. Can’t wait for pumpkin flavor! It’s my Favorite!

It was my first time here and the girl was very helpful. It is not self serve which I enjoy because then I’m not being glutinous and loading my cup with an excess amount of yogurt. Best frozen yogurt out of the many others. So creamy and inexpensive! My new favorite yogurt shack. Not too many flavor choices which makes my decisions easier but I had peanut butter(my favorite and so difficult to find) and classic vanilla. It was great! I tried the strawberry and pistachio which is their most popular and it was amazing as well. I will be back and I am bringing everyone here!

Best frozen yogurt for the price! Not self serve or over priced like other chain yogurt shops! Go support your local shop. Limited flavor selections but best peanut butter yogurt around

This is my favorite frozen yogurt place. They give you a lot of yogurt even for a small and the price is great! My favorite is a simple chocolate and vanilla swirl with a topping but last time they had pineapple flavor and I mixed it with chocolate! It was so good :)

Employees are very nice. Good prices. I go there every now and then with my grandma or my mom. There is few flavors, but tons of toppings. Will always go there if I live in Oakley my whole life. ALSO, It has been renovated on the inside and it has also been on the outside of the whole strip mall. They are adding an ACE Hardware in also!

Okay, so I swear that I have reviewed Yogurt Island before. Probably a good idea that I didn’t though because I have to be honest, before the new owners took over and cleaned it up this place was going downhill fast. Growing up in Discovery Bay, there was not anything relatively close like this. But we went to Oakley for yogurt b/c it was so good! I can vouch for most who grew up in Brentwood, DB& Oakley that this place was a staple in our childhood. But, since the new owners have taken this place over it it super bright and clean. My daughter loves coming here to look at the mural on the wall and of course she LOVES the chocolate FroYo. I do have to say, their yogurt beats the taste of Yogurt Pizazz hands down. I don’t know what it is, it just tastes better. Now they do not have the full on self serve station but I like it better when it is made for you anyways? Doesn’t food usually taste better when someone else makes it for you? Go check it out, if you haven’t already! It’s the perfect summer’s day/evening treat!

After a 17 year hiatus, I managed to convince my hubby to stop into my favorite childhood yogurt shop. Boy was this a walk down memory lane! Aside from the shop being cluttered like it had been, everything was the same down to the froyo! I tried to crawl into the cobwebs of my mind to remember the tried and true concoction I always indulged in, it hit me! Country Vanilla Froyo with thin mint cookie bits and sno caps! Oh yeah this was some good, creamy stuff! I think the best part of my visit was the brief conversation I had with the new owner. She loved and grew up with Yogurt Island just like I had the only difference is she had the forethought to «save» it from the original owner who had given up. Yeah ok so I’m a little jealous that I wasn’t in the right place at the right time but you know what I say to that? Thanks for keeping that part of my childhood alive :) Like the energize bunny I’ll keep going and going and going and…
