Dr. Kim was really nice and the whole process went very smoothly. Dr. Kim was very personable and friendly. I felt that the eye exam was thorough and pain-​free. The paperwork took less than 5 minutes and I was able to see the doctor right on time. The assistant was also very nice and they understood my insurance better than I did. I did not see the dog though!

Helpful, friendly, and knowledgable doctor with a good selection of glasses and a friendly little dog to greet you! I got an eye exam and purchased glasses and contacts, and was super happy with the experience. Will def return!

I’m sitting here now. My appointment was at 330p, I arrived at 320 to complete paperwork. Dr. Kim is going through insurance coverage with a patient and it’s now 4p. Finally about to go in.

Short, efficient exam. Dr. Kim did not dilate my eyes. Strange, because I have dry eye problems & Medi-​Cal only covers ONE exam every TWO years. I have always had my eyes dilated to look at at the back of my eyes, since I was once at risk for retinal detachment. She said «your eyes are too dry, don’t want to dilate them». Ok…
FYI: if you are over 21, medi-​cal does not cover glasses or frames. You will get a prescription for glasses that is covered, though. If you need a contact prescription, it costs $ 70 at this location.
Shrug. I can’t say this was my best optometry experience, what with the 30 min wait time and not getting my eyes dilated. So. Next pupil dilation will be a 3 year span. :(
*also, the sample of fish oil pills she gave me expired May 2015. Not a terrible thing, as I know I can still take them. The coupon inside was for $ 2 off eye drops though, win!

TLDR: accepts Medi-​Cal, long wait time, personable but little attention to detail.

I had an appointment last Thursday at 2:00, everything went smoothly, I was confused about my insurance, but assistant gladly helped me and explained to me about my insurance. This was the first time I met Dr. Kim and she was very efficient and thorough with my exam, and explained in detail of all the questions I had! I ordered contacts and I recieved them the very next day which was convinient because I had a vacation planned! I would reccomend this as a first or long term optometrist!

love Dr. Kim! She really cares about her patients and will go above and beyond to make sure her patients are taken care of! feel a great sense of relief to have found such a great eye doctor in the area.

Reasonable prices and quick turnaround. I went in on Wednesday to get a prescription filled. By Friday they were done and they also tightened up my frames too. I will definitely be coming back.

I had a nice experience at Dr. Kim’s office. I took my 12-​year-​old daughter for an eye exam b/​c her eyes were getting worse every year. Dr. Kim was referred by my friend b/​c she specializes in rigid gas permeable lenses for kids. my daughter got pair of glasses and rigid gas permeable lense. Dr. Kim was very kind. she gave a clear explanation about the rigid gas permeable lenses and taught us how to wear them properly. my daughter is young but she’s doing well with the contacts. Dr. Kim’s assistant was very helpful choosing right style of frames for my daughter and explaning the insurance benefit. we’ll definitely continue with their professional eye care.
I would recommend Dr. Kim for all your optical needs as she and her office staff are professional and you could expect to receive great customer service during your visit. she also has great personality and is great with kids.

Dr. Kim has been taking care of my eyes for almost 10 years. She’s got a great sense of humour, but is very down to earth, personable yet totally professional. She has a good selection of frames and doesn’t mind giving me a «woman’s opinion» on what looks good on me. I can’t wear contacts so it’s important to me that my specs look good.
Her Assistant, Helen, is a total peach. She knows all the details of my insurance before I even arrive, and calls and arranges and reschedules appointments like a pro. She has even stayed late for me so I could pick up my new specs after hours.

Dr. Mihwa Kim was referred to me by my co-​workers. I work across the street from here so not only is the location convenient and easily accessible but Dr. Kim is so sweet and thorough. I also love how honest she was about not wanting to give me too high of a prescription since I tend to get bad reactions like migraines and headaches.
She is completely down to earth. Their family dog also stays at the shop during business hours too. His name is Coco, a poodle and he’s so cute (12 years old). He’s curious and just walks around sniffing stuff, but doesn’t get all hyper like I know some dogs tend to.
Her assistant Helen is also really sweet and helpful. If Dr. Kim’s not in, she can definitely help you. I don’t recall how much my contacts were but I came in for a contact lens exam & fitting and it was $ 139.00 for first time patients and then $ 69.00 every year thereafter. I got two boxes of 1 day Acuvue and 1 box of colored contacts for $ 183.00.
