was meeting a friend here at the Marriott. Was a bit early, so decided to grab a couple while waiting. Nice open bar on 2nd floor, little pricey, but to be expected for a bar located at a hotel/convention center right? great bar munchie snack mix bartender gave us to accompany the beers. Mix of rice crackers, almonds, sourdough crisps, and pretzels. Good and salty to keep us thirsty! didn’t try any of the food from menu, just here for the beers. nice and cold beers, good service, decent TV’s, nice place better since bartender comp’d us a round! again, just a bit on the expensive side for beers, but just having a few, so it was worth it to sit back and relax. 6 beers(2 on house), 40 bucks including tip

Great place to work and have meetings. Wifi is completely reliable, outlets are available and during the day there are lots of places to sit. You can get food and drink from restaurant too.

Shame on you Marriott. Like you don’t know it a big concert night at the paramount/Saturday night in general. You have ONE server in the bar? One? We waited IN a booth for 27 minutes before the server even LOOKED at us. And it took 12 more minutes after that for him to acknowledge we existed. I’m now dead dehydrated and starved. That is all.

Typically overpriced, underwhelming hotel bar. While I appreciate their recent support of the local Oakland election by inviting all the major candidates to stop by as guest bartenders, the overall service(candidates excluded) was a bit sluggish, and the execution on a flatbread was simply amateurish. If you’re visiting or staying at the Marriott for a conference and need to break away briefly from the meeting halls downstairs for a more intimate conversation, then this isn’t a bad option; otherwise, there’s so much better to be had in Old Oakland right across the street, as well as in the surrounding few blocks of downtown.

This is as good as it gets people. The service at this place is SUPERB! They were attentive, personable yet professional. When I went home with my left over french fries, they included their silverware and ketchup bottle for me to take home!

Steak was clearly fried on a flat grill. No char marks, bad flavor. Although temperature was correct. I had initially ordered the shrimp fettuccine, but was told they had only two of those and they were sold out. I should have taken the hint and run. I’m staying at the hotel on business and was just looking for convenient, but tomorrow I will find somewhere else. quite pricey. I couldn’t find any non-appetizer for less than $ 27. Maybe that is normal for the city, but it seemed high. Especially given the quality. Service was okay although my ice cream came out melted. The waiter apologized and said it was because he microwaved it too long. I’m sorry, but it shouldn’t need a microwave and if it did, do it again. I didn’t pay nearly $ 10 for a pool of room temperature cream.

I didn’t have very high expectations of this place when I walked in. To me hotel bars are kinda like airport bars where overly priced, weak drinks are rampant. Anyhow, I think this is a good place to get away if you just want a chill place to relax and want to get away from the usual crowd. Drinks on average range from $ 12-$ 15. Nothing to brag about their drinks. However they do serve this gin from Alameda(St. George Terroir) that tastes like a walk through Muir Woods — truly a unique gin that works well with basil and grapefruit juice. Service is good — two bartenders who are attentive and darn humorous.

The place is alright for quick late night drinks and price wasn’t over the top either. Their wine selection was pretty boring though – typical names easily found in grocery stores. Flourless chocolate cake and rasberry sorbet was good. Our waiter never came around and never brought the water we requested.

Came here for some drinks with coworkers. Service was unbelievably slow despite it not being busy. Waiting 15 or 20 minutes for a drink when it’s not busy at all is completely unacceptable. Moreover, my coworker ordered a Blue Moon and they said they were«out of oranges.» How can a bar run out of oranges?(It was still early in the evening, maybe 5:00.) Finally, it’s super overpriced.
