This review is simply based on the tequila bar. We were walking by and decided to go ahead and have a tequila tasting :) so glad we did!!! They literally have a tequila for every one… Even if you don’t drink tequila! A lot of fun, great service and will definitely be back.

Miel is a beautiful bar/restaurant but I found the food to be lacking in flavor and consistency. I had a tasting of 4 menu items and half of them were great,(enchiladas, chocolate cake) while the others fell short(chilaquiles tasted stale, nopal salad was slimy and flavorless). The portions are teeny tiny and I recall the dismayed look on my husband’s face when he saw our plates arrive. Needless to say, I had to make him a second dinner after we left Miel. Dinner was also very expensive for such a small quantity of food. I think where we went wrong here was attempting to have a full course meal. What we should have done was sit at the tequila bar, have a couple drinks and an appetizer and call it an evening. The location is great and the space is lovely, but it is definitely not a dinner destination. Stick to those craft cocktails and you’ll be just fine :)

This is the Tequila Bar connected to Tamarindo and it is a beautiful Tequila Bar to daze at your love all night while sipping on well mixed cocktails. Impeccable service and atmosphere from the point we stepped in to the point we walked out, never a moment that included anything below perfection. Café Tacuba was soothing the ears, Black and White classic Mexican film playing on the huge wall next to the bar, dimly lit, beautiful Tequila selection, very clean bathrooms, and smiling sweet service. We ordered the Chilaquiles Verde with Cotija Cheese($ 9) which where so good, the chile verde tasted like fresh roasted tomatillos and roasted chiles. The Tacos de Pescado($ 9) where lightly battered, seasoned perfectly, and accompanied by fresh cabbage, and a choice of 2 salsas which where extremely tasty and obviously very well concocted. For drinks my lady stuck to the«Paloma» which was authentic as it gets with fresh squeezed lime, squirt, some agave, and chile powder rims the cantarito which most restaurants never have cantaritos. I tried the Chupacabras Beer and it was a nice slightly strong Pale Ale with a great bite to it and was really cold which I highly enjoyed while I munched. I also ordered a Michelada and the bartender definitely knew what was up, with just the right amount of Clamato, lime, chile and spices. The bartender was a hot young Latino with a lot of flavor in his step and a sweet personality, so ladies be sure to visit this eye candy man serving drinks! Definitely will be back they have Happy Hour Monday — Saturday and remember they serve a mean Tamarindo Margarita that will leave you wanting more and more. As a lover of Mexican food and my Mexican culture I appreciate this amazing place it really is a piece of the good city life in Mexico, right here in Oakland. Get your Rico Suave on here baby.

Yay! I’m a fan! I’m already a big fan of it’s sister restaurants Tamarindo Antojeria(next door) and La Calle(around the corner) and this place does not disappoint. Very friendly service. You can get as many explanations of the various tequilas as you want. You can order food at the bar. Menu is from Tamarindo. My workbuddy and I loved the Chicharron de Queso! A lovely and large slab of gouda cheese cooked to a crisp, literally. It was like eating cheese chips and it went perfect with our lime margaritas. $ 5 special during happy hour ;)
