I am a very easy eater(and i can live with just salt and rice) but this burrito was no where near edible(worst than bland rice). I took one bite and it went straight into the trash. It tasted like the rice and beans were couple days old and seemed like they forgot to put any seasoning in it(technically it was just bland bean and rice, but spoiled)…what a waste of time and money. Avoid! Our company has ordered lunch from here twice. The first was not very good but we thought we’d give them a second a chance. I ordered a spinach salad. It was inedible. The greens looked to be about 4 days old: wilted and limp and even mushy. We also ordered 2 chicken burritos. They were huge but super dry and flavorless. Also ordered chicken quesadilla which was like something my 10 year old would make, just cheese and dry chicken inside a tortilla. Very poor quality of food and inferior taste.

Terrible place. Ordered for delivery, pizza was cold, burrito tasted awful and the breakfast sandwich was ok but the hash browns were cold and burnt. Waste of money. Will not be returning. Unsanitary ketchup packets with brown liquid on the outside as well…

I ordered 4 burritos, 2 super asada burritos, 1 super chicken burrito, with no avocado, and 1 regular chicken burrito. I received all burritos with NO avocado. Asada did not appear to be steak. All 4 burritos were awful, and thrown into the trash. I won’t be ordering from the company again.

I ordered the following today from Grubhub: Avocado cheeseburger, BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, Steak burrito, Breakfast burrito, 2 cokes and onion rings. And I can honestly say I will never eat or have my friends eat at this place. The sole reason I gave them one star is because the onion rings were good as well as the cokes. The avocado cheeseburger was so bland even though it had way too much mayo on it. The Patty didn’t even look like a burger patty, it looked like the veggie patties you can buy at Trader Joe’s. Because I hated the avocado burger so much I tried eating some of the steak burrito and the steak didn’t even taste like steak, it was so gross that I couldn’t take more then three bites before I threw it away. So I basically wasted $ 35. Never eat at this place, trust me… eww

2 stars for the fact that the food came very quickly and 1 star for the food. Ordered delivery– Avocado burger and fries/curly fries. The Burger was fine just a burger but have to say in the back of my head I was worried I was going to get sick. The fries suck– they were cold and just tasted like frozen– no flavor at all. For a MEH burger i dont think I will be ordering again from this place The Diet Coke was pretty good ;)

I have ordered food from here 3 times already trying to give them a chance with 3 different items I chose. I ordered from grub hut and the delivery was on time but the food is just simply not good. First time I ordered 2 sandwichs and the meat was so weird like mystery meat. To much mayo and just greasy and the weirdest vegetables to pair with your food. Curly fries were the only thing I ate which weren’t that great. I don’t even recall what I ordered the second time either. So this last time I was in the mood for breakfast so I thought I would give it a shot but nooo I had French toast which was alright no flavor and cold. Then a Denver omelet it was filled with oil in the bottom of the container and the inside was just disgusting full of grease and some weird cheese paired with country potatoes which was saturated in the same oil and the omelet and just noo flavor. Lastly was plain old eggs which was the only thing I ate with hasbrowns which were pretty salty. And the toast was so stale I spit it out. I dont understand how they stay in business but I won’t order from here again waste of money.

***Don’t order delivery! Save yourself the $$** So I can’t speak for anyone that has visited the restaurant. I ordered delivery through GrubHub. Save yourself the trouble. The order arrived a half hour late. I gave instructions for delivery(since I had it sent to work) and those instructions were completely ignored. I could have cared less about all of that if the food had been good. My order was easy, curly fries and avocado cheeseburger(though, to meet the $ 15 minimum, I also threw in some buffalo wings and a soda to take home for dinner). First off, the food was barely warm. It clearly sat on a countertop or in someones car for a half hour. The fries were soggy. They seemed as if someone had tossed frozen fries into a microwave. The burger meat and bread is decent. The veggies on the burger are crap though(nearly white iceberg lettuce and ONE very pale, thin tomato slice). At least they didn’t throw an entire cup of mayonnaise on the thing. I didn’t want to take this out on the delivery person so I still tipped them. All in all, I spent $ 21 on a very crappy meal. I’m giving them one star because the burger was semi-decent. I hope I don’t get food poisoning from eating something that sat out en route to me.

I am giving them one star because they showed up on time — which is more that I can say for the majority of restaurants I’ve ordered delivery from. However the food was absolutely revolting. The breakfast burritos(veg and meat) tasted like steam aluminum foil.

I just got delivery from this place for the 3rd time. 1st time was«eh, not great, but not bad.» 2nd time was«maybe they’re having a bad day.» 3rd time«how can they call crap like this food?!» It was food in the sense that I put it in my mouth and chewed. But by that logic, pens are also food. I really don’t understand how places like this stay in business. The food was more than inedible. They packaged the curly fries in the same container as the pancakes, so it was a greasy, syrupy mess. After we sorted out some non-syrup covered fries, they were terrible How do you screw up fries? Everything was burnt. The toast was so stale, I don’t know how it wasn’t moldy. Toasting bread doesn’t cover up that it’s stale. The vegetables tasted like they’d suffered from freezer burn. The homefries tasted like they were days old. Is the cook human? Has he ever eaten actual food before?

For some reason, I have ended up ordering take-out from this place on at least 4 occasions. Every time I think, «maybe this time it will be better.» I think I keep trying the place because the guy who makes the food AND delivers it soooo nice. I honestly hate writing a bad review. But I also honestly hate spending good money on disgusting food. The first time I ordered the fish sandwich, curly fries and chicken wings I thought each was decent — not the best — but ok. Since then, the food had gotten consistently worse and worse. Wings that were once passable are now inedible(think questionable freshness and burnt oil flavor). The cheeseburger reminded me of school lunches in the 80s with a questionable(grade z?) meat. The shrimp tacos were… A flavorless joke. I didn’t even think you could mess up a shrimp taco. But somehow… I think the final straw was ordering the breakfast. I ordered 2 pancakes, eggs and bacon and a side of onion rings. A pregnant woman’s craving. What I got was 2 unthawed frozen pancakes that you would get out of your grocer’s freezer section, an egg blob and onion rings that also tasted like the ones you get at the grocery store. C’mon guy! I’m pregnant! I was soooo serious about that breakfast and it went straight in the trash. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for decent delivery.

3 star because of 1 main reason: Where in Oakland, at anytime of day morning, afternoon, after 6pm can you get BREAKFAST delivered to your house… The Bay Café that’s where. (if you know somewhere else send me a message lol I love Bfast!) I was craving breakfast one day, I have 0 items in fridge and I really don’t want to brush my teeth, hair and venture into the cold, AND its like 3pm. Somehow I found the bay café, delivery order minimum $ 15, there’s two of us so that was perfect. They deliver breakfast all day its amazing to me. –Good food, I could complain about price but I never spend over $ 16, I’m really just a penny pincher when it comes down to it. –Pretty fast delivery. –I tried some lunch options and was pleased as well. I want to give 4 star really bad but I could see some arguing 3 star but I think their menu selection is great, food quality is good, service ok, and portion size decent enough that I order from them often.

DONOT be fooled by the earlier higher reviews! This place changed owners recently and the quality went right out the window. I rarely have to give 1 star to a restaurant for just their food. Usually it’s a service problem or something in there, too. But no, this place is the pits because their food is just downright terrible. Ordered the club sandwich and my husband ordered a breakfast plate. Took 2 hours to deliver less than a mile, but that’s not my reason for the 1 star either. The club sandwich had 2 layers, the usual build, right? One layer had mayo and one inedible piece of lettuce. The second layer had an extremely fatty, thin, and processed piece of some kind of meat. Oh, and more mayo. Seriously, that was it. The breakfast consisted of a small portion of powdered eggs and a burnt piece of meat. I called the restaurant as soon as it came – the guy answering the phone did not care.

Not sure I would like liking in Oakland nearly as much if it was without their Ham and Cheese Sandwich with Bacon.

I did not dine in. Given my laziness that day I thought I should cover two meals. + prompt — not very warm food I am well aware I had not summoned Gary Danko to present his best cuisine at my lair. For the price, the quantity was fine if not generous. Quality — beef — chicken — general taste I am not a huge meat eater and thank goodness. If I were I’d be furious. I do eat beans and there was an over abundance in the burrito. There were a few(communion wafer) thin slivers of meat. I took a few bites and opted to try something else I’d ordered. I didn’t finish the chicken quesadilla either. Taste and texture were seriously lacking for what it was. Denny’s does a better job. Save your money. This is coming from someone who generally gives each restaurant a second chance

Oh, to live in a world where delivery went beyond just pizza and Chinese food. Do you know how many times I wished someone could just bring me a burger within the confines of my cozy abode? Let me tell you folks, that world is here, that time is now! I’ve had the BLT, the cheeseburger, the onion rings and fries. All were pretty good and delivered pretty quickly . I’m not going to say it’s the absolute best food on this planet, but for delivery, it’s stellar. They even have a Mexican food menu, which I’m a lil apprehensive to try but, I’m sure I will at some point. Only thing better than a burger delivered to your door is an Al Pastor burrito. If you’re a lazy hermit & live in their delivery area, you’d have to be an idiot not to call and get the best of fast food delivered straight to your door. — — — — — — — — — — Update 10−12−12 OK so, maybe they have new owners or something, because the burgers were as hard as hockey pucks and the onion rings were now the gross Burger King style(minced onion, frozen rings). It was totally gross. totally.

I did finally order some pizza. I got a medium Hawaiian to share with friends and it was fantastic! The pizza had the perfect crispness and a great flavor… the issue was the delivery. It is always the same guy working at Bay Café and he is really sweet and nice, but really needs to get a GPS or some sort of device if he is going to be delivering. We got a little frustrated waiting and trying to answer his calls(bad reception where I live/he was), so we ended up driving out to meet him!!! Again, fabulous pizza, but take the time to go get it yourself.
