We’ve been coming to this place off and on since it was Pearl of Siam. It is so much better as Sukho Thai. They’ve upscaled just about everything, including, most importantly, the flavor in the food. Their curries are lovely and the pad see ew is delicious. It’s great for either a lunch or dinner visit, for a date or with the family. The service is attentive, Oak is friendly and has made wonderful menu voices, and the owner is always gracious and welcoming.

Comfortable atmosphere, friendly service, and tasty thai food. The curries(pineapple, yum) are very good, in particular. A standard sort of thai fare, but high quality at what it does. Does not come very spicey may have to seek out/ask for heat if you prefer. Very enjoyable from multiple experiences.

Service: 2⁄5 ratings They took forever to come and take our order When I asked for straws for my water, he only gave me one. Common sense, get one for everyone ! Not just me ! Asked to split the bill. did not do that whatsoever. Food: 3⁄5 average Soup: Tom Kha with prawns. 3⁄5 It was very rich. Where it got harder to eat once I kept drinking it. But it wasn’t tooooo bad. The prawns were good Vegetarian pad Thai: 2⁄5 Why did my pad Thai look so much more different than everyone else’s? It was too saucy. And it didn’t even have the orange color like the others . It almost looked like. Meh.

Ambiance is great. Service was attentive. Ingredients fresh. 7 of us. Ordered 7 items plus brown and white rice… yellow curry was salty tom kah gai — watery and lacking ingredients pineapple rice — eh pumpkin curry — small portion — eh pad thai — good! prawn and scallop asparagus — soso but small prawns and there were scallops? forgot the last item bowls of brown rice @ $ 2.50 each bowl of white rice A very pleasant and enjoyable dining experience but very over priced for small serving portions.

Wow… I can’t believe that Sukho has been here for two years already. I think I owe an update. The three stars I initially gave them were conservative and based on that single, initial, and narrowly focused experience as they were still finding their feet. In these past two years, I’ve enjoyed many a meal there, and am increasingly impressed each time. They still treat me like royalty each time I come in, and I’ve also gotten to know the owner a bit over time… and it is without exaggeration that I can say she is one of the sweetest and most generous restaurateurs I have ever met. I also appreciate her dedication to this restaurant; she’s put her heart and soul into this business, and continues to endeavor to bring us fresh and delicious food, and strives to make a good portion of that organically sourced. I’ll echo the statements that other reviewers have made about the servers knowing what«vegan» means. it’s not just the servers, though… it’s in the actual ordering system(«vegan» can be applied to most dishes), and obviously, the cooks know what it means too. There are numerous Thai restaurants in the area, and this one is definitely my favorite!

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the East Bay. Their food is fresh and all the meat and veggies are organic. I usually go for lunch because they have a great lunch special that comes with a tasty salad. Some of their best dishes are the yellow curry, the ginger chicken, the pad prik king, their fried vegetable spring rolls and the garlic chicken. Not only is the food great, but the service is always fast and super friendly.

Well I will weigh in on this spot to say I think it is pretty darn good — I am no novice to Thai food and everything I tried today was on point. They offer a small house salad with the lunch specials and the greens were crisp and chilled, a mix of mesclun and romaine with some julienned carrots and purple cabbage topped with a tangy refreshing ginger dressing. The fried vegetable spring rolls were crispy and stuffed with veggies, vermicelli and surprise a bit of sweet corn! Sweet chili sauce for dipping and a nice garnish on the plate as well. The $ 9 thai basil eggplant chicken was a generous portion, and the sauce was deeply flavored and although I ordered medium spicy will go for full on spicy next time. However the server did bring a tray of three different chili pastes to kick it up a notch. Egg plant was melty in the mouth and had soaked up the sauce, crisp carrots, red and green pepper, onion also in the mix and quite a lot of chicken. No skimping there either. Server was friendly, food came out quickly and the ambience as pleasant. Since it’s close by a welcome addition to my regular spots list.

I took the Bart into the city to meet the fiancé for dinner. Always an experience. Anyways we are new to the area and didn’t realize how busy some of the restaurants get. So after visiting two Japanese places that were completely booked, we gave up and took the train back to Rockridge. We ended up here as it was rated highly and close to the station. We ordered three things: fried tofu appetizer, papaya salad for me, and their house special dish whose name escapes me. It’s right front and center on their menu with a spicy warning to boot! The fried tofu was meh. My impression was that it wasn’t fresh. The costing was really thick and the tofu was really flat and mushy. It was served with the sweet spicy chili sauce which saved the dish. The papaya salad was good. I really enjoyed this dish. Though I’ve had better, it was good and I’d order it again. Their special dish(I’ll post the name later) was pretty awesome. I’ve been hoping I’d find a place in the Bay Area where they don’t water down the sauces or broth and here it is. The sauce was spicy but not overpowering. The taste was really fantastic. We got the version with fish. Dish was tasty too. Best part? It made a great fried rice lunch even with just the left over sauce and veggies. I’d definitely go back again if I’m in the area.
