Subway

Got this place all cleaned up. For a while the inside was a bit run down. Now it looks great and the counter and menu are easier to read. The staff has always been nice. The sandwiches are tasty and the toppings are generous.
The parking lot is a bit tight, so leave your F-​350 at home.

Fast food can also be healthy eating. The daily $ 5 specials are perfect for someone like me who is always on the go. Although this location has bullet proof glass separating customers from the employees, I still enjoy a quick bite to eat while in this area of east Oakland.

precut meats and cheeses– it’s probably better than a lot of fast food places but you get what you pay for. It’s handy if you’re on the run.

High security subway. it gets pretty toasty from the sun during the day.

I like this place for one reason when I go and that’s the Mills College students. I have seen some things lol.

I don’t know Oakland. Maybe this is the norm.
The store looks like they are expecting to be robbed. Little parking. The staff was okay, not rude, but not particularly friendly or helpful
They charge 50 cents to refill your soda, how chinsy.

Craving a Pastrami Sammich. I rolled by and Scooped one up. Im a sucker for a PASTRAMI Sammich expecially with Pepper Jack Cheese.

Two word review: shit-​sandwich. Any time I see someone eating subway sandwiches, I remember the last one I ate and how horrible it was. Also, you know that «meat» is all processed from the cheapest and worst cuts of meat, right?

Not a Subway you eat in at. More of a pick up and go place. Service is usually quick, and they have their shit together during the lunch rush.
I’ve ordered party trays from here a couple times, too, and for the most part they are good at large orders like that. I think once they mixed up the types of sandwiches, but it wasn’t a biggie since I was feeding a group of starving college kids.
Worst thing about this place: their horrible parking lot. Shared with a pizza place, and a dry cleaners (I think), it’s hard to get in and out of and sucks if you have a larger vehicle. I recommend finding parking in the neighborhood, if possible. No worries about tickets if you’re in and out in 15 minutes.

Yummy but very cramped space!

Food is fine and service is OK. But do I really need to walk into what feels like an oven surrounded by bullet proof glass? The people can’t even hear my order through the 3 inches of plexi.

This is definitely one of the smallest Subways I’ve seen, packed into a small shopping corner that only allows 10 cars or so to park, so beware of that before coming during crowded peak hours.
Okay, brush that aside. The people here are friendly, helpful, attentive, and appear to be very focused on making a good looking and tasting sandwich. I’ve eaten here about 4 times in the last couple months and have never been disappointed. Their veggies were all fresh, the chicken tasted like chicken (ha!), both toasted and non toasted subs were just right, and did I mention, the service was pretty darn good?
Will definitely be visiting more often.

I love being able to be the 1^st to review on some of my favorite spots… Plus I figured out that you have to boost up your number of Unilocal reviews by doing mental surveys in your head of the places you have been to so you can also be among the many who have a couple hundred reviews. It’s like going down memory lane.
This is my all time favorite subway chain. They know me in there and my order. There’s only one chick in there that allow to make my subway. Bad news is I don’t even know her name, or we have exchanged names but Hell if I remember, cause I’m good with numbers not names.
Depending on the subway of the day that is me with some oatmeal cookies and I am on my way. Don’t do the Tuna cause that can be very deceiving to the eyes, cause a booger can easily camouflage its ass in there. Don’t do them nasty ass meatballs either…
They recently remodeled, so it looks better than before. The lines get long around lunch, and parking is bad if you are in there around that time too.
