So I was a regular for many years at Hair Image, on 8th, between Webster and Harrison, in C-town. Still like those guys, but after several incidents due to miscommunication(my Chinese sucks, their English isn’t the best), where some ladies were able to jump ahead of me(no appointments here, so most likely, they dropped by, «saved» a spot, and went shopping. But hey, at least tell me, so I’m not waiting cluelessly), it was time to move on.($ 15 for haircuts.) My buddy recommended a place off Lakeshore, went a few tiimes, but that lady is your stereotypical bossy Hong Kong lady — loud, incessant, clueless, paranoid, close-minded. Had to move on.($ 15 for haircuts.) So another buddy — thanks, Quan! — recommended Sam, at Sao Chan. His sign says he’s a «Hong Kong style barber», and the guy is a total gentleman. He can speak English, Vietnamese, several Chinese dialects including Cantonese, Mandarin, etc. What a nice guy, been here over 20 years. Haircuts are only $ 10, and he also offers a «frequent flyer» card where you can get a free haircut after every 5 haircuts. He was a cool dude, so I know I’ve found a regular hair cutting guy again. The address is 419 International Blvd, right up the street from the Phở shop at the corner of 4th Ave, ph # is 510−228−9936. Open 7 days a week, 9:30 — 6 pm. With a haircut being only $ 10, don’t be cheap … tip generously! :)
