After my 15 year old daughter had a disastrous series of hair and customer service «don’ts» at Avalon Beauty College in Alameda, I called Miss Opal and said, «My fifteen year old daughter is having a hair crisis!»
Miss Opal took my daughter’s hair disaster and turned it back to a healthy looking head of blow dried, trimmed, deep conditioned and flat ironed silky smooth goodness!
It only took about 90 minutes to perform this hair miracle on my daughter! I have been known to sit in shops for anywhere from two and a half to three hours, even when the stylist is not working on any other clients.
She is very professional, polite and efficient. She also educated my daughter (who won’t listen to me) about what to use on her hair in between appointments.
I made my child’s next appointment with her right on the spot!

Fabulous cut, fabulous price. She uses the OG hot combs and curlers, so your press will definitely last.

I have been going to Opal now for the last 3 months on a regular basis for flat irons. I highly recommend Opal, She is very professional, efficient and knowledgeable. She takes great care of my hair bringing it back to life, making it straight silky and shiny. She never keeps you waiting around and gets the job done exactly how you want it. Opal is definitely someone you can trust and will not disappoint!

Opal is a wonderful lady. I walked by a few weeks ago with a friend and grabbed her card. Gregg’s Salon has only two black styists and from the outside looking in, you wouldn’t think they catered to African American hair. Anyhow, my appointment was at 11:00am, and she was washing my hair by 11:00am! She didn’t have 5 other clients before me. She knows what she’s doing, washed, shampooed, flat ironed, and pressed my hair. My hair is flowing like Pocahontas! My hair isn’t greasy, it’s just the way I wanted it! Opal is the real deal! Plus, it’s a nice view from the salon, while you’re getting your hair done of the Lake. Her prices are reasonable, and well worth it. Give her a call! You won’t be disappointed!
