I purchased a «Puttin’ Down Roots in Oakland» shirt for $ 25 and got a whole lot of Oakland history and love for free. The shirt is a breathable, burnout cotton with V-​cut women’s bodice. On his other shirts, Mr. Copes chooses to print «hecka love Oakland» instead of ‘hella’ to show respect to the elders and the community-​at-​large.
