I wish I could say I enjoyed the food. But the simple truth of the matter is that I got there late and there wasn’t really anything left. That’s understandable, but what I don’t understand and why I’m giving a low rating is this: NOT A SINGLEONEOFTHEMTHOUGHTITMIGHTBE A GOODIDEATOCROSSOFFWHATTHEYAREOUTOFORPUTUP A SOLDOUTSIGN! So time after time I waited in a line only to be told I can’t have what I want. Business owners, do you think this is good business? It’s not. Unhappy customers tell about 20 times more people about their experience than happy ones. That means for every 1 person you disappoint about 20 more are going to hear bad word of mouth about you. And word of mouth the the single most effective kind of advertising. So when overlook something this obvious you are investing in negative advertising which loses you business. Think about that.

i love the variety of trucks that are here. you don’t really see these trucks everywhere else. love the seating and live music here is pretty awesome. come early and there wont be lines at all. the location is pretty hipster trendy. this area is also accessible by bart so don’t even need to drive here. if i am in the area i would definitely check it out.

One of the better off the grids. There are a limited amount of trucks but pretty consistent with the brand. Good food and good music in a trendy location. This one is only on Monday nights in the heart of Downtown Oakland.

I was so excited when I heard that Off the Grid was coming to Uptown. The food truck revolution has been fun to watch over the last few years. I love that the trucks rotate so there is always something new to try. Typically there are 6 –8 trucks. Be prepared for lines at the most popular trucks during peak hours. The Uptown Art park has places to sit and serves as a great gathering location for the event. Last time I went there was a DJ playing great music. Off the Grid is dog friendly, family friendly and perfect for when you just want a bite with no fan fair or flash. Great place to get take out. Mondays only — 5 — 9PM. So far, the trucks I dined at are: Docs of the Bay — Blue lake green beans with Potlasch seasoning are a must try. Healthy alternative to french fries #ProprietaryPotlasch Buttermilk battered jalapeño-dill slaw fried chicken was super tasty. i got it without the bun for a lighter meal Someday I will try the amazing looking burger Kennys Heart and Soul — Super tasty chicken wings Jshack — tasty and unique Japanese crêpe with veggies and shrimp — delicious and on the lighter side El Porteno Empanadas — decadent and delicious empanadas. Small pieces of heaven. 3 meat and 3 veggie choices. I loved the mushroom veggie one and the ham and cheese meat one. Highly recommend!

Pretty good! Needs to improve on the wait time. I’ve been to this place a few times and the wait is always long. The food is worth the wait

Can’t wait until more trucks come. There were about 8 trucks today. All good ones too. Like every single one. I had a delish filling crêpe, a nice size slider and fries and my favorite, frozen kuhstard. The band that was there was cool. But I prefer a little bit more entertaining. It’s the town mane. Great turn out. Location is on hit. I noticed Hella people that stay in Uptown apartments getting their dinner for the night. Nice job off the grid

a few weeks ago, i attended and reviewed Off the Grid: Uptown. i gave a detailed description of the trucks present. the local and the surrounding Henry J, Kaiser Park. surprised it was flagged for not having a first hand experience. the same trucks have returned the succeeding weeks. fyi: i ate poly ann ice cream @ J Shack. very flavorful –skipped the crepes since it’s not my favorite food.

Review is for Off the Grid Uptown. Nestled between the Uptown Apartments and Sears on Telegraph this event happens every Monday. 7 – 8 rotating schedule of trucks. Starts at 5pm and goes until 9. Musical entertainment provided but more as background music so not loud, guessing due to the nearby apartments. Finally tried Bacon Bacon truck(had the porky fries. YUM!) and tried the empanadas from the El Porteno truck(beef, really good nice pastry). Will try more. Parking is street.
