We’ve dined here twice so far and expect to be back many more times. The food was excellent and the service was great. The owner/chef stopped by our table to make sure we were happy. I am gluten free and Luca’s has an unbelievable gf menu and the items I tried were DELICIOUS! I have NEVER seen gf ravioli on any menu, anywhere. SOGOOD! Highly recommend this restaurant. Great food, great value, great service.

We had a great meal at luca’s last night with friends visiting from out of town. My family was loyal to Tony’s Brothers until they switched owners. Well Luca’s brings back that old restaurant we loved and is better than ever! Very fairly priced, convenient spot, an all around solid place. I had the shrimp Parmesan and tiramisu for dessert. Not too cheesy, well rounded sauce, perfectly cooked shrimp.

A sound and dependable Italian BYOB. Overflowing portions of traditional red sauce fare with an abundant specials menu. Accomadaitng service that is neighborly and pleasant. Yes, I live in town and is convenient, but there are other restaurants in Oakland that I never go to.

Everything was horrible. For our family of 6, they messed up everything. Took over an hour to get served. They messed up 2 dinners. And totally forgot my husband dinner. Not one apology was offered to us. Never going back again.

We had just finished hiking at the Ramapo Reserve and we looked for Italian cuisine for a nice dinner date! We felt like checking out Luca for the first time and we loved the delicious food and pleasant service! We started off with the buffalo shrimp. It was a little spicy and had a great texture! We were given some very tasty bread, too! All we wish was that we had requested more bread! Then, we shared the chicken piccata and the Martin Dean personal pizza! The chicken piccata had a luscious lemon wine sauce along with some crunchy capers. There were also carrots and broccoli! The chicken itself was tender and we really enjoyed the entrée! It even comes with a side of a choice of pasta! If you like arugula and prosciutto and pizza, then we highly recommend the Martin Dean pizza! The personal pizza was more than big enough for 2! It had melty cheeses and it was hot and tasty. The crust was crisp, just how we like it! We rarely get dessert, but we felt we had to try it! :) We got the bomba, which had creamy delicious gelato! We also got the kid’s bear! It was yummy and adorable!

Dined here two two months ago. In summary; good food, a bit over priced for the location and service level. Rigid about item substitutions(NO!). Chef wandered around the dining room in a dirty chefs coat and talking to guests a bit abruptly and loud. Bottom line, there are better BYOB options in the area.

We had lunch with two kids, ordered kids meal but the check is full price, waiter said sorry but did not give kids price, very unprofessional, will not dine again. Menu price on Unilocal is out of date.

Took our grandkids for a goodbye dinner this evening before they left for college and were very happy with the food and the service. Portions were very good sized and calamari excellent, with a choice of sauces. Our waiter was new, he said, but you couldn’t tell. He was attentive and eager to help us out in ordering. The owner/chef checked in with us a few times and was very pleasant and friendly, too, as was the rest of the staff that we encountered. We wouldn’t hesitate going back, even though Luca’s is not very close to us in NY, but it’s halfway between our homes and a nice place to meet each other halfway. My franchese was just little over– lemony, and hubby’s dessert was frozen, which is why I didn’t give this 5 stars.

We dined here on a whim after going to the MVC. We were hoping to catch a train going by(our daughter loves to watch trains) but no luck. However, we were so happy we ate here instead of the strip mall next to the DMV. The impeccable service was perfect – attentive without being hovery. To start we shared calamari and a tomato/mozz salad. I was expecting a typical caprese but it was more of a green salad with tons of fresh ripe tomatoes, delicious herbed mozz, onion, marinated peppers, black olives and celery all lightly dressed on a bed of lettuce. It was fantastic. We went for the Jersey italian joint classics and had veal and chicken parm. Well prepared and huge portions, nothing out of the ordinary but that’s what we were hoping for. Our daughter had pizza which was as good as cheese pizza gets. All the food was hot, fresh tasting and delicious. For dessert we shared an excellent and creamy tiramisu. It wasn’t the soggy mass produced box tiramisu you normally get in N Jersey. We loved every bite – just wish there was more! We will probably make a trip out there again around lunch time to catch a train going by and order something a little more interesting.

Place seems very organized and the wait staff is very sweet ! Our waiter was mike. We ate here(party of 8) and everything was great ! The food was fresh and delicious… As the other review stated, I am also a fussy … We took a pizza home for the kids to go and that was delish aswell. Try the weekly specials(as almost everyone in our party did) I can say I don’t eat seafood but my friend had the seafood marichira and the dish looked beautiful! Oh and it’s byob ! Definitely referring and returning here.

Just a little note to the owner. When customer says that the food he got is burned/overcooked/uneatable all you need to do is to say«Sorry, that you didn’t like it, I’ll take that off your check». There is no need to come to the table and explain that this piece of burned coal is what you ordered and it is really good.
