I have had this place several times and tried several things. The tacos are awesome!!! I get the salsa on the side. The garnishes include pickled cucumber, carrots, radish, giant pearl onion and the occasional jalapeño. The sope was delicious. The salsa served with that was different and was still spicy but delicious. It was a simple Sope in my opinion but it’s a truck. No chips and salsa cash only. The cooks/employees are super friendly though and great at what they do. My friend swears by the burritos so I will try that next. My friend enjoyed her carnitas taco and loved her burrito! They do have horchata and drinks too but a little overpriced. Still sooo good. Can’t wait to try to the burritos!!! I have heard many good things about them so I’m excited!!!

Okay let’s get this straight: this is the Tio Juan Taco Truck located on Foothill Blvd. by 40th across from El Taco Zamorano Restaurant. The BEST truck in this neighborhood hands down! This truck had me at first bite! The meat is real tasty especially the asada and al pastor(mmmh) traditional truck selections: tortas, tacos, burritos, tostadas, etc… whatever you choose you cant go wrong. The horchata is off the hook, Mexican sodas also available. I’ve been enjoying the food here since 2000. Same great cooks, same great prices. If you’re in the area, take a moment and have a taco, Tio Juan won’t disappoint.

I’ve only had the carnitas tacos. I didn’t think they were as good as another taco truck on International Blvd, El Grullense(sp ?). Can’t comment on the other food they have there as I didn’t have any. Head just a few feet away for fresh churros at Rico’s Churros for dessert. You can’t go wrong !

OK, first of all, Unilocal has to update the map on this business because –as noted by other two Unilocalers– it’s on Foothill Blvd and not International, as it shows! Tacos here are AMAZING!!! made with real tortillas that don’t smell or taste like chemicals, exquisite meat and the best-ever salsa you may find in the Bay! Garnished with fresh radish, grilled onions and cured carrots that make water my mouth! Lime wedges and depending on the meat cilantro leaves and fresh onion. Driving there now!!! Something to try as well are the tacos dorados, I don’t love they soak them in warm sauce but the crunchy tacos with all the toppings are delish!!! A MUST try, great staff to serve you as well, ah… a corner of authentic Mexican food in Oakland’s paradise =)

Foothill Blvd./41st Ave So 5 stars for their burritos!!! Hell ya good beans, sour cream, salsa is fresh it could be spicier, fluffy rice, and crispy fried to perfection carnitas. On the side they put carrots, jalapenos, radish, and crunchy cucumbers. This burrito was only 3.25…thats what I am talking about. WTF is really crackin is this burrito TRUST!!! My girl had the tacos and I would give them 4 stars only because the spotlight is all on the burrito. Located right across the liquor store, for a convenient ice cold tall can. Damn I swear I will be going back today, people are sleeping on this!!!

This review is for the El Tio Juan truck parked at 40th Ave. and Foothill, although it had 2350 International painted on its side. The al pastor, carnitas, and carne asada tacos are all excellent(recommended in order). They’re served with grilled onions, carrots, radishes, and lime wedges. The tacos were a little small for $ 1.25 each, about the same size as the ones at Tacos El Gordo(which are also $ 1.25), but not greasy at all. Dig through the couch cushions for a few extra quarters and check them out.
