I’ve ordered takeout and delivery from this place several times — they’re very reliable and the food prices are fair. They’re super on-point with their delivery system — I came in to pick up some orders before and saw two sets of computers with Google Maps pulled up and several phones to take orders; it looked amusing :) The food is not any fancy Chinese food, but if you’re craving takeout and are short on time, this is a good go-to place. Street parking if you choose to come here to pick up or dine in.

We got a menu in our mail box 2 days ago so why not try it. On the menu, they had 5.50 lunch special so called in to go along with crab wontons since they don’t take visa under 15 dollars. Also, we got fried rice for extra 1 dollar(it was funny because on the menu lunch special included either fried or steamed rice then they charged an extra dollar for it.) We got orange chicken and kung pao prawns. We got to the store for pick up and lady goes total is 21 something– we were like what? And she goes here is the menu. The menu we got in mail was completely different from the one she showed. I had to pay extra 5 bucks for our food!!! I was like whatever and paid… I opened up my crab wantons and they were just fried batter… no fillings no crab meats or nothing. Our fried rice was so blend: just rice mixed with soy sauce and barely any egg. Our soup of the day was hot and sour soup. It was super spicy and no «sour» component in it– the lady even claimed it’s super good on the phone. Are you serious? They totally lured me with this false advertisement. I rather go to Panda express than here. I will never come back.

For what it’s worth they have good Chinese food for great prices. No wait if you order ahead. Portions are good. What can I say? Decent lunch for 6 bucks? I’m down.

I go to Okalnd tech the school a couple of blocks away. We have open campus lunch in which we get to go go where ever we want to eat as long as you come back and the food is pretty cheap but okay in general, my favorite food there to get is salt and pepper fish with chow mien during lunch hours where you get a lunch special for 7 or 6 depending on what food you like. But the thing is it’s been closed down a couple of times because they failed their umm restaurant check thing that happens not just one but three times and well the food is okay you could definitely find better Chinese food if that what your carving by simply going to our huge china town that we have in our lovely city Oakland

My expectations for Chinese food is pretty low, because most restaurants have a pretty low bar when it comes to creativity. So I generally don’t review Chinese restaurants, but I have to make an exception here. I ordered food to be delivered so I could enjoy eating out of cartons while I watched the 2015 Baseball All Stars game. But, boy oh boy, the food was just AWFUL !! I am a penny-pincher, but I just tossed it all out. What a waste of money. I didn’t order anything special: the chicken wings were so overcooked, the flesh was dry the chow mein looked like horrible spaghetti and tasted even worse the spicy eggplant was just undercooked eggplant, not spicy and sauce very gooey the spicy orange chicken was(again) NOT spicey, chicken was dry and sauce was sweet but not orange-y I only write this review to warn others and to try to bring down the overall rating — this is DEFINITELY not 3-star(average). Only a horrible experience in a Washington State lumber town, keeps this from being the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at.

I ordered food, and called to ask how long it would take after 30 minutes of waiting. They said it should be there asap, but it ended up taking over an hour and a half. As a plus, the orange chicken used white meat(huge on me) and they gave me 8 free seasame balls, which were great.

Horrible.. delivery took an hour and 45 min when they confirmed bit would only be 30 – 45 min. I can live with waiting for good food, but this was garbage. I’d rather eat Panda Express or the Asian section at Golden Corral. Bottom line: this place is horrible. The fact that they are still in business in an area where we have some of the best Chinese food in the country is shocking. Steer Clear

I was enjoying some rainy day takeout and i look down as im chowing on my 3rd wonton… only to find a FUCKINGFLYINMYWONTONSOUP! HORRIFYING. The container was sealed and tied in a plastic bag, so it definitely was chillin in my soup for a minute.

Mike and I rolled here yesterday and we were both craving Chinese food. Mike had the Szechuan prawns with fried rice along with a orange soda. I ordered Sweet & Sour chicken with fried rice as well. The food is very basic and bland taste and we gobbled it down because we were hungry and the atmosphere was mostly local construction workers and a few other cool dudes we know. The waitress was a one person crew dong everything from answering the phone, serving tables taking orders, busting tables ect ect ect… My respects for this hard working girls and with all that pressure she was still smiling and very positive. I may go back here but not too soon. But in case I want to get me some more of this style of cooking I may go but not too soon. 2 star for the quality of food and 2 more stars for the waitress that kicks butt on her job.

About twice a month I find that it’s 8 pm and I have no idea what to do for dinner… and then China Hut comes to the rescue! Lots of vegan options(my favorite triple threat is the Sesame Tofu, Dry Braised Green Beans, and Eggplant With Garlic Sauce) and crazy fast delivery. Bonus: You get free sesame balls(read: deep-fried dough) with every order.

Barely average Chinese-American food. Super cheap and they honor coupons/“Get x Free” deals(free wontons, egg rolls, crab wontons, potstickers, or sesame balls with $ 25 or more, among other offers). Though the usual suspects are fat-bombs, the lighter dishes(prawns/seafood in black bean sauce, soups, etc) are actually kept that way, which is nice. There are problems. Eggshells in the fried rice. Nothing spicy unless you ask for extra spice. No chopsticks, only forks? However, the fact that they’ll actually deliver to East Oakland without batting eye(albeit usually ~10−15 minutes later than the given timeframe) is sadly priceless.

China Hut may not even be nearly the best Chinese food in a 5 mile radius, but they are the ABSOLUTEMOSTDEPENDABLEDELIVERYFOOD(Chinese or other). If you order $ 20 worth ask for the free crab wantons. If you like spicy food ask for the dish extra spicy, they will comply(which is a breath of fresh air since, in my experience, most delivery services will just immediately forget any special requests). They will probably tell you 35 – 45 minutes, but will likely show up in 25. One time I called a few minutes after closing… they still delivered!!! My roommates and I have ordered delivery more than twenty times and have never been disappointed. They even gave us a menu calendar for the new year(pretty nice material and worthy of being hung in our apartment). My perfect meal(order everything extra spicy except the rice): Spicy combo chow mien Mongolian Beef Kung Pao Shrimp Combo Fried Rice Beef short ribs Free crab wantons. Hats off to China Hut for kicking ass whenever me and my brethren are in a lazy pinch and need some sustenance quick!

I’m solely eating this place based on it’s service… …it sucks. The a-hole that works the register f-ing sucks and is super rude. Confronted him about it and sure didn’t like that and now I’m waiting for forever. What a d*ck. I’m sure you could find Chinese food better than this with better, friendlier service.
