Please save your money and your time! First and foremost, when I arrived I waited 45 mins before getting my hair started. I was a little under the weather and she didn’t care. In Dangerous Oakland, she left the door open all night past 1am with a ghetto bar next door with people drunk and unruely. Henrietta(owner, I think that’s her name) came off nice at first but become very rude by the end of the night. although she was done quickly, I wondered why because I have a lot of hair. Come to find out my hair was parted uneven and big in the middle. My braids started falling out after two weeks. Not one, but many. After I called her and told her I was unhappy and why are my braids falling out. She argued back and fourth with me. Yelled and was offended. That she has many years of experience and she never heard of that. Smh. Then said oh well. I’m not helping you. … HORRIBLESHOP! FLIESWEREEVERYWHERE! DISGUSTING! GOELSEWHERE. …

This will be my go to shop when I need braids. The ladies are friendly and braid very well. I receive compliments from everyone.(men an women). My hair was braided neatly and very very fast! I had no problems with braids coming out or being too tight. I’ve been to plenty of Braiders in the Oakland area and all were too expensive, took too long and were rude! None of this is a problem at Black Image.

First let me state I have locs which hang about 3 – 4 inches above my waist. The primary woman was very friendly. However, she couldn’t retwist if her life depended on it. She told me on the phone the price would be about $ 65 depending on the length of my hair. I said my hair went down my back she said don’t worry it will be around there. If you call $ 85 around there I guess so. But she didn’t tell me the price until she was done. Her wash job was exceptional. I thought she was scrubbing so hard she might be collecting DNA for SVU, but if you like a thorough/firm head washing it is wonderful. The twisting was the worst I ever had. The product she used wouldn’t of held my 5 year niece’s locs let alone mine. Which is unfortunate, because the same company makes a pretty decent oil based twisting loc product. Unfortunately, the one she used was equivalent to grease. She only barely twisted the root. She didn’t even rub her hand down the loc to ensure they were neat. After two bout under the dryer which has you sitting with your back to the front widow in small corner, my head was still wet. The dryer didn’t get very hot at all. My hair was so fuzzy at the end. It certainly did not look freshly done. And definitely didn’t look like an 85 dollar job. When people saw me the next day they asked«I thought you were going to get your hair done. What happened?» When she was done she poured a bottle of hair oil in my head. So it dripped on my clothes, car, face, pillows, desk, etc. For four and a half days. Which is saying a lot because my hair usually eats grease. I broke out on my cheeks. It was just bad business all around. Anyway, I will say the two women whose hair they were braiding looked really good. Bottom line: nice woman, good for hair braiding, but stay far away if you have locs. So back to my regular guy Rahki.
