Was not expecting much from this place, but it was pretty good! Especially if you’re driving on your way home from Yosemite looking for a place to eat.

Great place if you only have a few bucks to eat at lunch time. Lots of food always left overs. Sevice alway good place could be up dated tho. Been coming for over 10 years and it still looks the same. It’s a bit dusty but the price and amount of food you get makes up for it !!!

Stopped here late at night after driving back from yosemite. Wasn’t expecting much from a small restaurant on the side of the road, especially because it was one of the only things open. The food was pretty good. The price was also not too shabby. I’m really happy we stopped here and will be stopping again on my next trip.

This place is great. We’ve eaten here numerous times and have never had a bad meal. John is so kind and always smiling. Try the Salt and Pepper Calamari, and the three ingredient rice noodle chow mein. My all time favorite is the Chicken Salad and BBQ Pork. Be sure and enjoy a nice cold Tsingtao.

Best value in Oakdale. I’ve been eating here forever; you may get a sub-par dish 1 out of 6 times, but they are as consistent as any other place. Cheapest lunch special you can find. The manager is very nice, but he has been in business a long time and doesn’t take crap from out of towners– yes I have seen it and yes it’s very funny.

I’ve eaten here numerous times over the past 15 years and it’s not bad, but not really good either. Today is a holiday and my favorite in Oakdale was closed. The owners work the floor and the kitchen, so you have to give them thumbs up for that. 15 years counts for something. The beef and snow peas were really good, lemon chicken not so much or the sweet n sour chicken. Bbq ribs were really good.

One of the worst chinese I ever had. Served us bad rotten chicken. The owner was rude. Pretend that she did not hear us. Bad service and bad food. Do not come!

Best Chinese food in town. GET the orange chicken by far best ever. The building is run down so don’t pass it by for that reason.

There is really nothing else to say but… The Best Chinese Food in Oakdale! We have not had a bad dish here since moving from LA to Oakdale. Their menu offers a variety of authentic Chinese dishes, unlike some restaurants here in the Central Valley that only offer your typical Americanized Chinese. Our favorites are their stir fried veggies(green beans, ong choy etc.), mandarin pressed duck, crispy orange beef, honey walnut shrimp, egg drop soup, and their fried chicken. Their fried chicken is comparable to Phoenix in the SGV. Don’t let the unsightly exterior scare you away, this place will make your belly and your palate very happy.

Mandarin Pressed Duck is a must try… I always order two. These are the crispy cubes of duck exactly how I remember as a kid…80’s. aka… Almond Pressed Duck, Sweet & Sour Duck, Wor-Shu-Opp.

Great place in Oakdale to eat. We have tried others here but this one is by far the best hands down. Yes it may look like a little hole In the wall but don’t judge a book by its cover. The not so great looking places usually have the best food! Prices are great as well. Very affordable and lots of food. Definitely recommend this place.

In Oakdale there really is no other Chinese place that compares to Pearl Palace. First things first, this place is a dump so don’t expect to be wowed by the atmosphere or ambiance. You’re here for great, cheap Chinese food and lots of it. They’ll make anything on the menu exactly as you want. If you’re picky, just ask for your special request and they’ll make you happy. The potstickers are the bomb! Seriously, order more than you would at other places otherwise you’ll all be fighting over them. The soups are also very good. If you’re ordering a main course and don’t like lots of sauce, tell them to go easy on the sauce. Try the chicken salad, you’ll be glad you did. Their iced tea is smooth, refreshing, and always consistent. I drink about a gallon of it when I’m there. Service has always been excellent for me. One thing to know is that John the proprietor and his staff speak very little English. They’ll cater to you but there is a language barrier so be clear and concise when you order. Be sure to ask for a to go box because you’ll need it. The portions are generous and you’ll probably not finish it all. Give this place a try, order things exactly as you want, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Great Food and Service! I love their lunch specials, you can’t get that much food for that price anywhere else. The same owners have been running it for 21 yrs.

It’s bad. I mean really, really bad. The first red flag was: we were the only patrons on a Sunday afternoon. The second was the time it took the server to get up from her table and walk over and greet us. When she did, she had the personality of a limp noodle. It was if we were interrupting her day. The soup was as bad as I’ve ever tasted. It had a consistency of syrup and tasted of sitting in the pot for a long, long time. The Chow Fun was watery, and the noodles all stuck together in a mass of dough. The food was flavorless and not prepared well. One of my dad’s favorite jokes: You eat Chinese food. An hour later you’re hungry. You eat Mexican food. An hour later you wished you’d eaten Chinese food. He never ate at Pearl Palace.

My boyfriend spend most of his high school years in Oakdale and since moving to SF we almost never visit. But, since we were in the area, and as a joke to me,(being Chinese), he wanted me to try Chinese food in Oakdale and compare it to ones in SF. We started with Chinese Chicken salad which for the record is not very authentic dish to begin with. But I did enjoy it the most out of the 3 dishes we ordered. It came out super fast which most likely meant the chicken was precooked. I think they used some kind of mayo based dressing, yuck but kinda yum at the same time. The General’s chicken was something out of Panda Express but the quality of the chicken was better. They fried up large pieces of chicken, sliced it and dumped a gallon of sauce over it. I’m used to individual sized nuggets fried up and tossed LIGHTLY with some sauce. It was totally soggy after about 15 mins. Last dish, Chow Fun with Chinese Greens. I asked the host/waitress was Chinese greens were and she said bok choy. Ok, I can do bok choy. What the menu doesn’t say is that it’s WET chow fun. This means they dumped a bunch of sauce over it. Again, with the food drowning in sauce! The waitress was nice but was not professional at all. When we walked in, we were the only ones there and she lifted her head off the table like we woke her up from a nap. Then while we ate, she was clipping her fingernails! Then it was hard to get her attention so we could pay the bill. BF had to get up and walk across the restaurant to pay. OK tasting food and I guess from the other Unilocal reviews it’s pretty darn good for the area. Horrible décor.
