Good food, generally reasonable prices, friendly staff. Do get: egg sandwiches, baked goods, Philly cheese steaks, and almost any of the hot dishes, including the Cajun grilled chicken, pork loin, macaroni and cheese, and soups. Don’t get: french toast (unless you want an honestly kind of good bread pudding), the regular grilled chicken (dry, bland), chili (just kind of ‘eh’). All-around solid neighborhood deli, if not necessarily a destination.

Update– They did some renovations and made it a little better inside and out. They are coming back. It seems they finally cut that delightful lady loose since she was not there when I revisited. Glad to see that they finally saw one of their problems. I have to say the food was great and the service was great too. In and out. Keep up the good work and you will have a new customer for good!

Don’t let the tall guy in there make your food. I’ve watched him multiple times not wear gloves while making my sandwich. Loved this deli until I saw that, now I’ll never come back.

They deliver! I had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich last week and it was soooo gooood!
I went a little healthier today and got a spinach wrap with tomato egg whites and turkey… SOO GOOD
they have a few selections of wraps (not just plain and whole wheat) ~ which is rare for a deli.

As far as Long Island delis go, this one is subpar. There are plenty to choose from so there is no need to visit this one. It is old, dirty and the sandwhiches and salads leave much to be desired. I have also had delivery to my friend’s house from this deli and let me tell you, the guy who delivers is a mess. Food stains on the uniform and smells. Very upsetting sight right before you eat. I also have had hair in my food numerous times. Like I said: there are plenty to choose from so just order somewhere else or drive to the next one.

I love the food at this deli. Yes it is on the expensive side, but they are no more than their competition in the area. I live in Sayville and I have tried every deli from Sayville, Bohemia, Oakdale, Islip, and Bayport, and the only one I travel to the most is Idle Hour Deli in Oakdale. The people are kind and the customer service is fast and accurate.
