SOR Oak Park is a wonderful place. The staff are outstanding– my son has not only become an accomplished musician and performer in a much shorter time than I would have thought possible, but his teachers are all great and he looks forward to the time he spends with each one. My son is 16 and SOR gives him a safe, supportive place to be after school, even when he doesn’t have a lesson or show to rehearse for. The kids hang out and do homework and work on music and talk about music on their own. SOR fosters a real LOVE of music and the sort of backbiting, nastier type of competitiveness you sometimes see in other activities is not present here, in the students or in the parents. They work hard to support each other’s music and the overall atmosphere is just totally positive and supportive. I cannot recommend Oak Park SOR highly enough if your child is interested in music. It is inclusive, fun, creative and wonderful!

The faculty and staff are first rate in all respects. Terrific people and an overall outstanding experience.

Well, we just came off of another show season! Whoo hoo! each one gets better than the last. I am sure the staff is tired of me saying «this is the best show yet!» Well, this show was the best yet! My son has grown leaps and bounds. I was moved to tears watching him sing and play the drums. At a «mere» 9 years old he was rockin it, feeling the music and emotions of the song, enjoying himself. His confidence has soared! What a beautiful thing to witness. We all want our children to be confident, joyful beings. The School of Rock has changed my entire family’s lives, not just my son. The instructors want you to succeed, it not just «a job» for them. Whether you are an adult in the adult program (which is so much fun), private lessons, or the performance program for your child, you will become part of the SOR family. Everyone is welcomed. I dare you to take a trial lesson and tell me that was not the best part of your/​your kids day!

I have two kids who attend School of Rock Oak Park and it is amazing. The instructors are professional and caring. They know the kids and get a lot out of them. They are also extremely prompt and never cancel lessons. I have never shown up without someone ready to teach my kids how to rock out. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and actually have often.

The School of Rock in Oak Park is more than just a music school for kids. It is a supportive force and community of people that can truly change a kids’ life, especially if your kid would benefit from finding his or her «tribe,» and what kid wouldn’t benefit from that? I’ve seen what SOR has done for my son, and I should lay rosebuds at everyone’s feet there because of it. Participating in the SOR shows teaches responsibility, commitment, time management, respect, teamwork, creativity, pushing limits, and so much more. I could talk about how my son has improved as a musician due to SOR, but it’s more about how it has affected him as a person. The owner and teachers are passionately committed to all the kids, and it is a safe place where everyone is welcomed and can thrive and grow — whether they are young kids or older teens. Every community needs a place like School of Rock Oak Park. I only wish my son started going there earlier!

This place changed my son’s life! Through his private lessons and the performance program he has gained confidence AND killer guitar skills. I am truly amazed to see my 9 year old play in some of Chicagoland’s coolest performance venues!
All the teachers care deeply about their students, and the kids have formed a wonderful, supportive community of musicians. I am so grateful to have School of Rock in Oak Park!

School of Rock in Oak Park is really a wonderful business. I have an 8 year old drummer who absolutely can’t wait to get there on a weekly basis for his lesson, and jam session. He’s learning quickly and has been given a very solid understanding of his instrument. In the jam sessions he is exposed to other instruments which is important for many reasons.
The environment is safe, comfortable, and inclusive of all people. My son really feels part of something big… and he is. This place is really wonderful.

Great school with great instructors! They are very motivating. A nice place for the students to hang out. My daughter loves this place.
