Really nice authentic Greek food. The service is great, and the table side fish service was cool.

We visit this restaurant one in a while. About two to three times a month! My last visit was horrible service wise. I had a taste for saganaki! I waited 25 minutes before I was even approached at my table! I was actually leaving when the Bartender came up to the table!

I have to start with my positioning in the Restaurant. I am brunching at Papaspiros on a May Sunday afternoon, the west interior table with a great window view. My server is Louis, the absolute best waiter. He ordered all my food and wine, which is just delicious(hot small plates: the broiled octopus, the shrimp and red & white wine). The service is what you always hope for, knowledgable and kind. I had given up on Oak Park for true authentic cuisine and dinning experience until today with my waiter Louis. I’ve been living in the area all my life on and off; so this really is a new discovery for me. And, I don’t cook much, so this is my go to spot for unadulterated, great tasting food with superb service.

I was there for lunch and ate the greek salad for $ 10.95. Everything for lunch is the same price. This is the worst Greek salad I ever ate, the worst in the history of Greece. No feta cheese, tiny bits of tomato, a few olives and cuts of chicken. The dressing was oily. Awful. The iced tea was poor. Not as good as bottled tea from the market. You can do much much better going to a Greek owned takeout place and not pay a tip.Overpriced. I will not return. They don’t know how to make a good salad or they are too cheap. You will blow your money here for lunch.

On Sunday April 23rd myself along with 14 other friends enjoyed a great dinner at Papa Spiros. The food and drinks were excellent and the service was wonderful. The staff at papaspiros goes out of their way to make you feel like you’re at home. From the egg lemon soup to the saganaki and all the wonderful entrees you cannot go wrong. Highly recommended!

I grew up on greek cuisine, and with the exception of my YaYa, these guys make the best greek food I have had in Chicago. I would recommend the Saganaki, Gyro, Chicken Souvlaki and the lemon potatoes. Unfortunately I can’t bring myself to try anything else because these dishes are so good. The service I have to say is warm and inviting, what you’d expect from«Real» greeks, not the middle east knock offs. I live right down the street from these guys and Spiro(one of the owners) walked my meal down to make sure it was delivered hot and then refused a tip from me. Good people, good food, 5 stars!

My friend and I bought the Groupon for this place on a whim. I am so glad we went because it was so great! The egg lemon soup was creamy and tasty. The saganaki cheese was delicious and our server happily repeated the small fire show so I could snap a picture. I had the combination plate & everything tasted delicious. It was a great way to try many dishes at once. My friend had the lamb slices and it was very tender. We could not fit dessert in because we were so stuffed! The service was outstanding. Our server’s name was Louis and he made sure everything was up to par. He was attentive & very knowledgeable about the dishes. During dinner we got a complimentary round of wine & Samos at the end of our meal. All in all, a great dining experience and I will definitely go back.

Stopped in today for a quick lunch. As always, food was top notch and authentic Greek cuisine. The high light of the restaurant has to be one of the owners– Spiro. He is so warm and engaging. He helped us to plan our rehearsal dinner for next month. They have a great space upstairs that sits about 30 people or so and offers privacy away from the main restaurant. Spiro worked with us to help menu plan and gave us a great price for family style. Not only is the food great, but the service if excellent. Spiro gave us each a hug as we left– great guy. Looking forward to our rehearsal dinner here!!’

Louie was our server and he was fantastic! We started with the hot saganaki and boy oh boy was it fresh and delicious! We continued with the hummus dish which was pretty tasty. We shared an entrée, Grecian Riganati Chicken. Amazing! Our service was quick and our table was well manicured. I give this place 5 stars! The décor makes you feel as if you might be in Greece with the different hues of blue and pictures of views of the water from Greek homes! The owners came to the table and made us feel as if this was there home and we were welcomed with warm hearts!

OMGWEWERESOIMPRESSEDWITHTHENEWPAPASPIROS! We used a groupon and have not been to the papaspiros since they moved across the street. I am SOGLAD I bought that Groupon. We walked in after 10:30 pm and they stop serving food at 11, so I am always weary that they won’t want to seat us or are going to rush you to leave. But our Server Yani was SO pleasant and welcoming! He was hilarious and made me laugh so hard. He kept telling us to relax and not worry. The FOODWASAMAZING! We were just in greek town last weekend and Papaspiros food was Superior to Greek town’s. We only had sandwiches, soup, Saganaki but WOW! The Gyros was amazing, the Taziki was the best I have ever had. My boyfriend had the lamb sandwich, which was to die for. I loved the new décor. It was so pretty, peaceful, vintage yet modern. The bar is open until 2 am and the owner says they are going to start serving a full menu until close. They have lots of beer on draft and T. V’s and very pleasant environment. They are going to have tables outside in the summer and you can sit and drink out there until 2 am! The owner was friendly and the SERVICEWASAWESOME! Thank you Yani! We can’t wait to go back and try EVERYTHING!!! If you like greek food and cocktails, go try it and they have groupon too!

Don’t know why I haven’t reviewed this restaurant before tonight, I’ve been here on two previous occasions. On all three occasions, I was encouraged by management to try something I’d never had before and each time I loved it! The manager and the owner characterize the epitome of hospitality. The food is Greek. It’s hot and delicious. The Limoncello is just terrific(something I hadn’t tried before)! When the service is good it makes the food taste even better. It was my husband’s first time and he loved it. We both had the Combination plate and everything was amazing. And contrary to what people were saying about portions, there was enough food for us to take home. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Food is not all that. The service is the worst. Waiters are rude, they have no patience. When they bring drinks or food they throw things on the table. The appetizers were better than the entrées. All food was under seasoned. I think that the price of the food is too high for the quality. I rather travel to Greektown or go to any other restaurant in Oak Park I will have better quality service, better food for a whole lot less money.

I was traveling and decided I wanted to try this restaurant out last night. while I was in this restaurant last night the owner was yelling, cussing, threatening, and intimidating a young woman. It was extremely uncomfortable and I was confused why a business owner would ever treat someone so disrepectfully while dining in front of lots paying customers. I would never go back and I would make sure that if I did I would bring a taser. And by the way, the octopus was so bad that it made me not only vomit in my own mouth but also made me pay for it later on the evening. perhaps they need to do a better job keeping things sanitary.

Not good at all. The portions were not only small, but very expensive. In addition, upon reviewing the bill, it was apparent the prices on the menu were not the same as those on the bill as we were overcharged. We all wanted to leave so badly that we decided to not even mention it. For the price, you’d think the quality would be good(especially if the portion is so small). The only highlight was the lemon rice soup. Everything else was not good. Also, the tzatziki was simply yogurt w/o any taste. If in OPRF area and you want Greek, travel a little bit to the city or go to Central for good food. Will not be back.

I visited here for the first time on Christmas Eve with my wife and two young daughters. The service was very attentive… almost to the point that we felt a little rushed. Calamari was pretty standard fare but decent enough. Immediately upon finishing the Starter, the Mains arrived and they were not good. We have vine leaves, a pasta dish with bechemel topping and an assortment. All of which lacked flavour and were not very warm. It definitely seemed like a basic microwave job and was very dissapointing given the generally positive reviews on Unilocal. From my experience, this restaurant is not recommended and not good value.

A friend of mine told me to check this place out for there saganaki cheese. It was delicious. I tired the original saganaki and the shrimp saganaki. The shrimp saganaki was red pepper green pepper onions jumbo shrimp and pieces of saganaki was very delicious. If in the area stop in for some great saganaki. The owner is very polite and welcoming offered us a Greek desert wine which was also very tasty. Great customer service.

Service! Service! SERVICE!!! Wow! What a find! I am a college coach that came home for the Thanksgiving weekend and I wanted to go someplace where I can chill with my buddies and my girlfriend and somewhere different. I like to explore different places and different food. Places like U Gazdy in Woodale(awesome country Polish restaurant) and 2 toots train grill(great for kids) in Bartlett. I found this place with groupon. There were four of us and we saved LOTS of money with the groupon. I think we had a special menu due to the groupon, but well worth it and the food was amazing. They start off with fresh bread and I love bread. We had some really good spread and also cheese that they flame at our table and yell out«oompa!» I had chicken souklavaka and with all the veggies that looked very green and very fresh. I destroyed that thing within minutes. It was so good. They didn’t have some sort of sauce for my girlfriends dinner so they offered a different food option that was not in the groupon menu. Service equals score! Alcohol was amazing! The girls had some sort of wine, but alpha men like beer. So my buddy and I decided to try Greek beer. I think they were called Hillos. Good light beer with a little bit of hops. Different and good. To top it all off, we had shots on the house. I believe they were called limoncellos or something like that. These shots were poured in these little wine glasses, which is odd so I am not used to it, and placed on on a rail thing. It was really good! Score! And on the house? Double Score! I was so impressed I told one of the managers(I believe his name was Spirro?) that I will give an awesome review of this place. He was such a cool dude. Came up to the table and was smiling. In matter of fact, it seemed like all the management was NOT afraid to speak with the patrons! I read the past reviews and trying to figure out why there were a few one stars(but this place averaged 4 out of 5 stars which is why I came here). This place ISNOT a 1 star place. Elegant, good food, very clean, good beer, and what stood out the most was SERVICE, SERVICE, and SERVICE! One thing of note… they have a special night of PlayStation night either on Friday or Saturday. Very random and I was suprised with this lol. Call ahead for more info on this. Come here on a Friday night as it seems like more people come in after 7 pm. Also remember to check out groupon as there are awesome deals for this place. This place won some new customers and all four of us will be back in the future!!!

The place is a lil small but everything was amazing. We started with the saganki came out good. The egg lemon soup was great as well. Ended up with the combination the only thing I didn’t care much for was the dolmades. The food was full of flavor. I definitely will come back

We had an amazing time at this restaurant. We ordered the combination plate, flaming cheese and the Greek fries. Everything tasted so good! Desert was so exquisite too… some chocolate cake and Moscato. I will definitely come here again and recommend friends to check it out. Best customer service.
