Monosodium glutamate is in soy sauce used by restaurant. I have ate here for over 10 years and have asked about ingredients. I would give the restaurant 4 stars based on food and service Check for yourself the packages of soy sauce or the bottle of soy sauce on des play on the counter.
Tempestt I.

My lobster fried rice from China Chop Suey contained 1 small piece of a lobster tail. When I call the restaurant, the employee argued with me, basically said I was lying and that there were 2FULL lobster tails in my order. Never again!

My first time here so take my review for what it’s worth. Really great Chinese is hard to come by in this neighborhood. I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup which lacked pazazz but it was fine. Very typical of this neighborhood. The egg roll was complimentary and was fine too. A little over cooked and could have used mustard. The one condiment they didn’t give me. The Kung Pao Tofu was really amazing though and made up for the rest.

Two words: friggin’ horrible. I have tried this place three times, and it’s nothing but twenty miles of bad road. If you order takeout and ask for hot mustard, you will never ever, not once, get a packet of hot mustard. Kiss that mustard goodbye! It ain’t gonna happen! The sesame chicken is lemon chicken with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and exactly four wee pieces of broccoli. The hot and sour soup is neither. It’s gravy with canned vegetables. The egg rolls? I have nuked better Hot Pockets. Never again. I can’t bear the despair. I got all this, plus a 15% tip and $ 3 delivery fee. I am a sucker, apparently.

First off, the portions are huge! I ordered the Orange Chicken which was soooooo good. I also got the chicken choi mein which was okay, not the best. I also got white rice, which is pretty hard to mess up so that was fine. With my order they also gave me egg rolls which I did not like at all. Overall(I think cause I was so hungry) I was satisfied and I know better for next time. Definitily the best part was the orange chicken! The delivery was also pretty fast. They told me 45 mins but I got it in about 25.

To reduce some confusion, this location is in Oak Park, not Galewood, and in a strip mall, not the photo listed here. Food-wise, this shop has great quality and the luncheon special is enough for two people, even if they are hungry! At $ 5.83 for the special, it can’t be topped. Definitely worth checking it out.

Whoo hoo we have finally found our go to chinese place in Oak Park. Veggie fried rice was really good. Not very greasy or salty. Veggie egg roll was delicious too — not greasy at all. Can’t wait to order again! Since we ordered egg rolls, they gave us a free can of Pepsi!

I just love this place! You have to order the six piece chicken wings, their to die for! I also like the combination egg foo young, it’s enough for 3 or 4 meals, terrific! They deliver…

Every neighborhood needs a good Chinese delivery place, and for Oak Park, this is it. They have a huge menu to satisy any greasy or healthy craving, and I like the portion options(small, large, X-large) so I can order based on my appetite. The small was more than enough for me, and the large chop suey was big enough to impress my hubby. They really brought the«ahhhhh…» to our lazy Friday night. Free egg rolls with your delivery, good food, and delivery in half an hour? Next time I’ll add a smoothie to round out the feast.

Not bad. Though they charge $ 3 to add bean curd to the veggie chow fun. You get egg rolls with your delivery too. Tried them twice for delivery and everyone was pleased.

I will say, it’s very difficult to find a really good Chinese place around the Oak Park area. We’ve tried a few, and they’re typically so-so. However, this place was great! FAST(super fast) delivery, large portions, good food and not to mention, the price is right. By far, the best Chinese place we’ve had in the area so far! The Cashew Chicken, Orange Chicken and Crab Rangoon were awesome. If anything, I’d order an extra side of sweet and sour sauce, as not all the much comes with considering the size of the portions. We will definitely be ordering again soon.

Best Chinese Restaurant in the neighborhood! Never dissapointed when I order from here:) and the kids always will eat the teriyaki chicken on a stick, shanghai noodles, & white rice. And their smoothies are a plus≠D

My old band frequented this place in 2006 when we were recording in the studio a couple blocks to the west. This is where I was introduced to Pork Fried Rice. Making a heavy rock record is hard. This definetly relieved the tension of click tracks and a stoner producer, somewhat. The album turned out ok, but Pork Fried Rice will always be with me.

I have been ordering here since 2008 and there is always something… either the delivery guy goes to my neighbors instead of my place and they are nice enough to direct him… or the come to my place and bang on the door like the police… Also the food… no matter if i call in or do foodler where the food order is written i have had mistakes that are on details that are written in the order then when they make the mistake they argued about giving me what i wanted versus what others normally wanted… My last straw is their food handling… it is gross !!! The way they handle meat is not ok. the battered chicken is kept in trash cans at room temperature … waiting for orders to come in… I made the mistake of driving over to pick up an order and watch and I am horrified by what I saw. Don’t eat here if u can help it … and don’t order breaded chicken… did i mention the shrimp with veins… just don’t do it. It tastes good but now i know why i got sick off the seafood and chicken twice. i thought it was me but after seeing I realize that it wasn’t just me. Beware. In their defense when the first woman i spoke to was rude to me another called back to ask if I wanted my order resent to me… mean while the first lady said… «u live far if I get another order going that way I’ll fix it». I am just done.

This has now become my go-to Chinese takeout restaurant. The food is super-fresh and flavorful, and the combo is enough food for two meals! I am so happy to have found China Chop Suey!

Best fruit smoothies ever! They taste so amazing and fresh. I’ve tried the honeydew and banana kiwi. I plan on trying each flavor. Also, super delicious chickin fried rice. I got a small order and had enough to eat for 3 sittings and it still tasted just as good as the first time. It was packed with chickin and yummy bean sprouts. This is for sure my new chinese take out place.
