Portillo’s Hot Dogs

Just stopped by real quick to grab some food on my way home… Disappointing. I usually go here with my family on Sunday’s after church, and everything usually runs smoothly. However, today they not only forgot my fries, but when I asked one of the workers about my fries, I was given attitude. This location is just like any others and the food is delicious, but the staff is not always the nicest.

Consistent Portillos quality with good hot dogs and great crinkle cut french fries. Starting at 12pm on weekends this place is packed! Long lines greet you at the drive thru but you have the next CEO’s of America (our amazing teens) outside ready to take your order.

Love their Italian beef and chopped salad. I’m always amazed that a chain makes better Italian beef than any single restaurant in Chicago, but I’ve yet to find better (yes, they’re better than Maxwell street).
They’re pretty pricey, but so good.

Horrible service. Every person behind us in the drive threw got their food before us. Took 45 min to get 2 hot dogs and a beef sandwich. No one came up to explain or apologize for the long wait. Will never be going to this restaurant again. Extremely disappointed. We tried calling to speak to a manager after to let them know how unhappy we were and were put on hold for 8 min. If I could give a negative star I would.

One of the best Italian beefs and fries of chain or not bar none. Tried to go to Top Notch Beef Burgers place in Beverly off of 9^th but it was closed on Sunday so this was the second choice but might as well have been our first for the quality of the food.
Service is generally very quick at the register but not as much waiting for the food which was the case at this one as well.
Still worth it and I would recommend.

Very long lines for 11 in the morning. There are plenty of places to get a hot dog in the area.

What can I say this Portillo’s holds the same quality and taste as all of the Portillo’s I have been including the one in California. As a native Californian, I would have to say that Portillo’s definately makes my top three favorite places to eat! You can’t go wrong if you’re a seasoned foodie or a Portillo’s virgin. There is something for everyone here, which makes it very accomodating for the most important aspect, the customers.

First time dining at this Portillos. Excellent food and service which can be expected at Portillos. Spacious restaurant with plenty of seating during their peak hours as well. This will be my new go to lunch spot when working near evergreen park.

I use to really like this place. The prices are a little on the steep side but you use to get your money’s worth. I’m not sure what is going on here, but my last two trips have been terrible. First I received a chopped salad that was barely half full from the drive thru. I called, and talked to a manager who apologized, and said they would send me a gift card… well guess what… I never got it. On my most recent trip I ordered a combo. This thing was a joke… smallest link I have ever seen with maybe two slices of beef on top. I work hard for my money, and don’t need to over pay for your underwhelming portions. There are tons of mom & pop places that will appreciate my business. I guess you’re too big to care anymore

Great place for lunch or dinner. Their beef and cheddar croissants are the best! The croissants are fresh and slightly wet from the juicy beef! They are pretty big but most times I eat the whole thing at once. They have crinkle cut fries that are really good! Their chocolate cake is very moist and delicious and the chocolate cake shake is a great treat for after dinner! Both are very yummy! You gotta have one for dessert and you’ll see they are worth it. If you eat in, you will find it very decorated and worthwhile even though you may find it a little difficult to find a table. But don’t worry, you won’t have to wait long because they have plenty of seating in the dining area. If you go through the drive-​thru, they are quite busy during dinner time but they have people standing out there to take orders and move it along quickly and efficiently. The link to their site:

My family ordered ribs, beefs, and hot dogs and all very good. The service is the worst. I had to wait 30 minutes for my food standing at the counter. The people working here cannot keep up with the orders. The food is not worth the long waits. Never would come back to this place.

So many choices here and I always default to a salad. There is always a long line and orders seem delayed. Have at least 20 – 30 minutes of wait time. My family came from FLA and loved the food which is good but didn’t understand why we waited a while. This is my local Portillos so I try to go when I have extra time.

… Three long years that I left Evergreen Park… Now I pass by Portillo’s what a DECEPTION… Salad’s are not good anymore, ranch dressing is «mayonnaise dressing» chicken was not well cooked, people are not organized like used to be, before «Team Work», now they were saying «I don’t know» horrible eating experience…
Sprite with no gas… Yiak!
You will eat better at any McDonald’s 4 less money… Or even better at any Wendy’s Salad’s are for REAL!

Portillos is probably the best fast food spot out of Chicago no matter what you order everything is good. Hot dog cheese burger Italian beef frys even the salads are good. If you’re visiting Chicago you have to stop at one of the locations you will not be disappointed

Out of all the places to recommend when someone is visiting Chicago, Portillo’s is a must on the list. Compared to any upscale restaurant or delicious dive, Portillo’s is where I tell everyone to go if they are in Chicago for a short time. Every single thing on the menu is delicious. Their burgers are some of my favorite, their roast beef is addicting, their chocolate cake shake is literally heaven in your mouth, their hot dogs are the best in the area, and even their salads make any occasion special. They are the closest thing you can come to fast food without actually eating «fast food». Sure it takes a little longer, but it is well worth the wait and the staff really takes care of you. They also are more expensive than most fast food restaurants, but you can taste where your money is going. I can certainly say Portillo’s is a Chicago staple.

I’m not much of a hot dog fan, but if I’m going to order a hot dog, it has to be good and not too salty! Had a Chicago dog with everything but celery salt and sport peppers here which was delicious. Add cheese fries, and I’m in fast food, junk food heaven. Certainly not something I’d order often, but when the junkie food bell rings, Portillo’s hits the spot. Friendly staff in the drive-​thru, very clean (outside), and no mistakes made. Asked for 2 cups of ice water where even that, was happily obliged.

Never had a bad burger, a bad dog, a bad fry. Never have I asked, «What are they doin’?!»
Portillo’s is in control and my nose is leading me there! An Italian combo, dipped with peppers? Let’s go! A delicious big ‘ol burger with extra pickles? Let’s go! How ’bout a chocolate cake shake??? YES!
The service is fast and friendly. The food is ALWAYS on point. Done.

Visiting Chicago from Cali and was told I had to give it a try. My in laws live in town, so this was on the list.
We ordered the Maxwell Polish, Italian Beef and Fries.
The polish was good! Had a nice snap to the bite and great flavors. The fries were fresh and crisp and the Italian Beef was really good, but came second to the Patio’s Italian Beef.
Glad I experienced it, wouldn’t say No to coming back.
