Local Call is a nice and spacious surf shop. There’s a variety of boards, swimwear, beachwear, and accessories. Grab yourself some new sunglasses or get a new skateboard setup to roll around on. A large inventory at a surf shop in a small beach town equates to some pretty cool finds tucked away. I’ll visit again next time I’m in town

I love a good surf shop when traveling to beach towns and this one did not disappoint! The store was very roomy(merchandise was not cramped) but there was a great deal of inventory! Every flip flip brand I could think of was well represented, and there were a lot of polarized sunglasses. Clothing was your average surf gear, and priced well. There were also general Oak Island souvenirs, but of higher quality so I wish I’d come here before the tacky souvenir shops down the street. The one pair of flip flops I wanted had a spot on them, so the man working the register gladly cleaned them and even gave me an unexpected discount! The only negative would be that there were not many sizes equally represented in the shoes I saw — one size bigger(8) and I would be good!

Cool surf shop with a variety of nearly everything beachy(flip flops, bathing suits, hats, sunglasses, surfboards, skateboards) and enough trinkets for low cost mementos without the free hermit crabs and otherwise total cheese factor of nearby Wings, Eagles, etc.
