Good freaking lord– this woman knows her coffee. I was in the neighbourhood today having new tires put on my car, and found myself wandering over to check this place out. I’ve driven past it a bunch of times, but for some reason never stopped(it’s located right outside of the Charles Porter gate at NASWI Ault Field). Those of you that know me know that I have a caffeine tolerance that could rival an elephants(honestly, I have no idea what an elephant would be doing with a Latte, but it was the biggest animal that I could think of). The first star that I give this place is for the owners position on drip coffee– while waiting for my Americano, I heard her tell another customer that they could have an Americano– she doesn’t do drip. The second star is for the amazing espresso– it easily survived being made into an iced Americano(no easy feat for anything less than a great quality bean). The third star is for the owner herself– through out chat, I learned that she’s been a resident for about 35 years. She’s also very friendly and it’s obvious that she cares about her customers. In the short time that I was there, I saw about three others, all who stopped in for an extended chat. My fourth star is because at one point she went for a walk across the parking lot and told me to look after the joint– I’m sure that she had a till full of money as well as whatever else goes into an espresso stand masquerading as a Trolley car. Finally, the fifth star is for the comfy canvas chair that I parked my butt in for a good 20 minutes. I’m not sure if there are too many coffee stands that also have outdoor seating, but this one does. Just go. You can thank me later.
