Flyers Restaurant and Brewery

I love the French dip. The waffle fries are great! Good food, nice atmosphere! I’m not a big beer drinker, but I really liked the heffeweisen (sp?) there. It was refreshing!

The food was alright. I felt as though the service was pretty excellent, I did sit at the bar though so I probably had a bit more face time with my server (the bartender) than if I were at a table I had their wild boar and bacon burger, it was a decent burger nothing really too special. The beer was good, I had their brown ale and it was definitely my style of beer. I would have to say their prices are definitely a bit high for the food I think you can get the same quality burger at Red Robin for about $ 5 cheaper. Overall if you find yourself in Oak Harbor and just really want some beer and or a burger go ahead and give them a try I am sure I will find myself in there again at least for some beer.

Great breakfast in a great atmosphere. The scramble with the thick provolone cheese and English muffin were delicious. The waitresses were really helpful.

Flyers was okay. My wife and I went for our anniversary and we weren’t really that impressed, especially given then hype. We both ordered burgers and I was really disappointed in mine. I’m a bit of a burger snob and the meat was dry and flavorless and they wouldn’t cook it to order. My wife liked hers okay, but not super impressed. So basically… meh.

Fun place to go on a date or with friends. Great food! A little spendy. Glad this place is in town!

Great club sandwiches. Need to try fried pickles. Also great Rubens. Can’t go wrong great food great service

Stopped in for lunch with a party of 8 on our way out to Deception Pass. We were greeted with friendly staff and were seated quickly. We were immediately asked if anyone in our party had food allergies, which was WELL appreciated. I had the half dozen oysters which were fresh and delicious but could be shucked better. Most of the party had different burgers and all were delicious. The hot burger truly delivered. Kids meals are good portions and are $ 7. The beers were great, loved the porter. The star of the show here are the mussels. The best I’ve had in a long time. They are steamed in beer instead of wine. Incredibly tender. Overall this is a great family place with great service, correct orders and attention to requests, delicious food, great value.

Food is pretty good– especially pizza. The beers are great– get a flight and definitely have the porter. Great local business. The Naval Air Station separates Oak Harbor from anywhere else on the island and Flyer’s is a big tribute to that, with all the décor reflecting the history– even the dishes and the beers are named in tribute to all things navy and aviation. Might go get a beer there tonight, now that it’s on my mind.

After this being my 3^rd time of getting Crap food from this place I decided to write a review. Idk what it is with them but after tonight I am giving up. I ordered a burger and mozzerella bites to go. My burger was super overdone and I mainly tasted the grill. Didn’t taste good at all. My bun was crunchy and over done. Mozzerella the same. I’ve learned my lesson. I’m done with flyers. Very disappointed. They need a new cook.

Love this place. I have no connection to the military and I know that has been a reason some people avoid this place because they don’t want to seem like they’re the only people not in-​service, but I for one have never felt out of place. Great beers/​drink menu and the food is awesome. I have a wheat allergy and the menu is clearly marked with gluten warnings and even the option for gluten free bread if you want one of their sandwiches. Seafood is super flavorful, and I’m not a burger person but my friends who are say they’re exceptional when I’ve taken them. Although there is a sports bar factor, again not being a sports person, I’m never uncomfortable. There are open mic nights as well, which can get loud, but it’s open mic so you can expect that anywhere. Great for going with friends and sharing a bunch of appetizers too!

Don’t judge a book by its cover. That saying really applies to this cute brewery and restaurant. Service is fast. We were seated quickly. Very clean. Food is pub style. Burgers, amazing pretzel with beer cheese, prime rib dip, skillet nachos (my fav), street tacos etc. great place for hanging at the bar or coming with the kids. If you happen to be in town you should stop by and try. They also have 2 large TV’S with sports playing all the time.

I had a waitress laugh at me when I asked for American cheese in my hamburger. Food was nasty and definitely not worth the price. Taking my money elsewhere.

Though I agree that service is hit or miss however, if you want a homemade black bean burger and LOVE spice then this is the place! The hottest sauce on the wings and the spicy burger are both fantastic! Be warned though, if you don’t really love spice you may want to pass because they do warn, they will not refund your money.

Good food, but a little over priced. The service can be slow sometime. I usually like to stop here one time when I come into Oak Harbor.

2^nd trip. Service was slow. Food was burnt. When we finally found our waitress and told her she said «sorry». Poor customer service and food!

Burgers are spot on, always great. The Mustang is probably my favorite burger I’ve ever had. Their beer that they make is also superb and find something for my specific taste. I just wish they weren’t so darn expensive. I mean ouch, $ 15 for a burger with pulled pork? Granted the serving portion is pretty large.
Quickly prepared and always pleasant. A little crowded many nights, but always find you a comfortable spot

I’ll struggle to tell you just how disappointing this place has been. My father (retired) lives in Oak Harbor, and he and I share a love of good beer. This place seemed like an obvious choice, but has failed to earn even a passing grade in four visits. Each time, the service has been so poor that we felt unwanted as customers. Once, we were neglected so much we simply left before being seated. Another time we left before the meal was finished, do to poor and lackadaisical attitudes by the staff. The other two times, the food was mediocre at best, and to top it off the beer isn’t even very good. The final straw was a recent visit, when, after my father read something in the local paper about how good their IPA is, he went in to try it. They were out of it.
Don’t bother with this place. We’re never going back.

I took the war department out one evening for dinner. Being into aviation and beer, this place seems like a great idea!
The décor is of airplanes, which is great. I did not sample the beers here (I know, why would you go to a brewery and not drink!?) but I did enjoy the food. I had two of the oyster shooters (ok, I had some alcohol) and the seared Ahi tuna for the appetizer. For the main course, I had the fish tacos. They were pretty good, not out of this world, but definitely above a six on a ten scale in regards of taste (and easy 6.5).
The service was ok, they were becoming more busy the longer I was there and I noticed they seemed a little under staffed, but we were checked in on a few times.
Overall, not a bad place in Oak Harbor. They have a lot of craft beers and even a sample paddle. The food is mostly bar food, but its a nice contrast to some of the chain restaurants, and I am told that their beer is fantastic from others (I’m not much of a beer drinker myself, contrary to my opening paragraph).

The food is mediocre and way too overpriced. The beer is decent, it’s nothing special. The staff is usually all over the place, and seems to me that they have a high turnover. There is a new face every time I have gone in. My girlfriend and I do really enjoy a bartender who works there, very friendly and makes great drinks.
Their happy hour is decent. Prices are okay on apps and drinks are fairly priced.
My biggest issue is the price with the food, and their customer service.

Great porter. I am a beer snob, their’s is damn good. Had a bucket of clams and mussels, cooked just right, done, but not rubbery. Salad was fresh.
All ingredients are local and great quality, from meats to the lettuce. My toddeler and five year old even found it entertaining. Very family friendly.
