I used to love coming here but now that they are no longer making substitutions we no longer come for dinner. My son used to love coming here and now that we can’t substitute we just don’t go. I’ll still sometimes go for lunch before 12 to catch the specials, but even my co-workers no longer want to come since we can’t substitute anything.

Expensive, mediocre food served by wait staff that does not appear they care if you are there or not. The best thing about this place is not much competition in the area and the stone statues outside… oh and the delivery car is cute.

Great price Chinese food in a fairly upscale atmosphere. Happy hour 11am-7pm every day if you sit at the lounge area(21+) includes $ 6 huge coconut shrimp, $ 9 app combo plate(with coconut shrimp, cream cheese wontons, bbq pork, and chicken). Lunch special for $ 8 – 10 includes soup, small app(chef’s choice), and fried rice. The Bbq beef was really tender, which I enjoyed.

Phở is GREAT! I’ve been looking for great phở and finally found it in oak harbor. I think the only thing that would make this place better is if they had tendon phở. GREAT!

Great restaurant! Very fast service and food was tasty. I had the Szechuan chicken and hot and sour soup. I came out quickly and had great flavor. Service was excellent.

Really nice restaurant! Décor is awesome from the stones outside all the way to every single table inside. Haven’t check the restrooms yet but they are probably nice too. Have been twice here and I’m only been here in Oak harbor a week. I was surprise of how cheap this restaurant is, especially because the way it looks. I came for dinner and lunch once. My first time was for dinner and thought it was pretty cheap. Then came for lunch and it got better, only $ 8 for a lunch special that came with main dish, fried rice, soup and a piece of one of the appetizers(chef’s choice). Also, staff were super friendly. The second time we were there waiting recognized right away. I didn’t find absolutely anything wrong with this place.

Solid Chinese food. Prices are okay, it tastes pretty good, and the place is actually pretty nice. It won’t blow your mind, but it’s the best option for Chinese food in Oak Harbor.

I’m addicted to the cashew nut chicken! I haven’t had an order I didn’t like. Appetizers are yummy especially during happy hour,!

My best tip for you on China City is to go at LUNCH. Before noon. Super prices Mon-Fri and it’s the same food that you’ll pay more for later, so just go early! We usually order the house lo mein, which has all the meats and one shrimp.(literally one– taking advantage of the fact that«shrimp» is singular or plural, I guess) That’s my go-to order, along with cashew chicken, which is spicier than I’ve had elsewhere. And if you like it super spicy– just ask! It’s nice that lunch includes the soup(egg flower or sweet/sour) and a cream cheese crab wonton. We have only had dinner there once, and found it expensive, hence one star off. It’s the same food but more of it, but not worth slightly more than twice what lunch costs. The bar has specials and happy hour(s). There’s a big drink menu, with prices comparable to other island restaurants. There’s also a dessert menu, and I see a lot of people ordering the green tea ice cream, but we’ve never had the room after the soup and entrée. The ambiance of the restaurant is soothing, with the booths being screened enough from each other so you feel some privacy. The waitstaff is usually attentive and doesn’t rush the service.

This place is a rip-off. I ordered $ 43 worth of food from their menu after asking how many people an item from their menu would feed. One of their servers said it would feed 3 – 4 people. When the food came it was in a small togo box. Looks like they’re taking advantage of the fact that there’s few options to dine on the island. Never EVER going to waste my hard earned money there again.

Stopped in this past Saturday with a friend for a late lunch. Gotta say this was one of the cleanest, modern and well decorated Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been to short of a P.F. Chang’s. Ordered a cup of the egg flower soup which was pretty awesome. I ordered the Chow Mei for the main dish and was asked what degree of spiciness I wanted which was new because I’ve never had it prepared that way. Got my dish in a timely manner and was quite satisfied with it! Overall I would say that this place is definitely the place to go in Oak Harbor for great Chinese food!

Alright, China City… China city is like watching the very early morning news. You watch it because you have no other options, and you pretend you like it because it’s pro social to be up to date on current events. With China City, you go there because there’s no other Chinese restaurants in the area and you pretend like you enjoy the food because they trick your mind into thinking you’re actually in a P. F Changs. China City is like buying into a time share… You think you’re getting a great deal until you realize you’re only getting a small percentage of what you thought you were paying for, in this case, P. F Changs. If P. F Changs had a wife, China city would be dating her fat sister. The greeter was attractive and I enjoyed the hot n sour soup so it got 4 stars.

Lunch, two orders of sweet and sour pork with fried rice. Pork appeared to come from a freezer previously prepared. Tasteless, dry and served just warm, with red sweet sauce. Side note, three adjoining tables piled with dirty dishes, no bussing the whole time we were there. Hope it gets better.

Had chow mein, pork fried rice and sweet and sour chicken and it was delish! Atmosphere was delightful with statues of Buddha, Quan Yin and elephants making it quite classy. Also wall art of dogwood trees was fantastic and the waitress attentive. Sometimes I think people are too critical of things and it saddens me.

Went here for lunch and sat in the bar. Jason, the bar tender was very nice, friendly, and had some good input on the menu items. Had the pot stickers, they were ok not the best I see had but not the worst either. The egg flower soup was pretty good. The kung pow chicken lunch special was above average and I’d most likely get it again. All and all decent food, friendly staff, and nice ambience.

This was the worst Chinese food experience I have EVER had. I would not even give it a star but that is not an option. They don’t have General Tso’s chicken. Nothing comes with rice. The«egg rolls» are really spring rolls and three cost $ 6. And everything was WAY over priced. When our food finally got here it was EXTREMELY disappointing. The breaded/fried chicken was like crumby ends/remains and there was barely any chicken inside the greasy and disgusting fried breading. The chicken was super dry and each box of them was TEN dollars. Super disappointing. NEVER ordering from here again and strongly advise anyone else from doing so either. Oh, and they didn’t even give us chop sticks or fortune cookies :(
