The decore is beautiful. The waitress was outstanding. Then there was the food. The «enormous wings» were nothing more than uncut wings overcooked until they were like eating a 2 by 4 board (and about as flavorful). The wings came with a child size handful of fries. All this can be yours for only $ 9.95. Our friend had a beautiful side salad for $ 7.99. That was the most expensive side salad I ever saw. Last but not least was beer for $ 5.00 a glass. Happy hour is only Friday and Saturday. How they are surviving in Lone Jack is beyond me. Next time go a little further west in 50 to Johnny’s.

YUCK! Is the number one thing I have to say about this place. The last time I ate there the food was simply horrible. My father’s slice of bread, that came with his comically small portion of a meal, was molded around the edges and when we brought this to the waitresses attention she did nothing. Didn’t take the slice, didn’t offer a new one. Nothing. On top off that they had cut their portion sizes by practically half and raised their pricing. I had ordered the full size fajitas which were the same price as El Maguey’s full size (right next door), but about the size of the El Maguey lunch portion. Ha the food for all the price? No thank you!
The service here is completely lacking as well leading to a completely dissatisfying experience.
I have no plans to return any time soon.

Great combination of Mexican and BBQ. The Burrito Azteca was HUGE and filled with delicious smoked pork. Extremely attentive, friendly staff. We will be back!

While looking for a BBQ restaurant outside of Kansas City we followed the Unilocal reviews to this incredible restaurant. Fun energy and vibe, absolutely the best carnitas I’ve ever tasted. The meat was flavor-​infused and fork tender. My husband enjoyed the beef Chili Verde, very tasty, very well done and every bite savored. Don’t pass up the excellent margaritas and freshly made guacamole! Wish we could be regulars here!

Pleasantly surprised by this combo of Mexican and BBQ. I had the burnt ends and a Carne Asade Taco, my wife had the Chicken Enchiladas and the Moocho Queso dip. Everything was great! The Burnt Ends were some of the best I’ve had, good smoke flavor but not overpowering with just the right amount of seasoning. The Carne Asada taco was very good as well, the steak inside was tender and juicy unlike many Mexican restaurants where it is either usually overcooked or over-​seasoned. My wife’s enchiladas were good with nice large pieces of chicken, with good flavor. The Moocho Queso had great flavor, it was a bit watered-​down but the added flavor of the ground beef and pico de gallo made up for it. We will definitely be coming back, also from what I saw they have daily specials that are pretty good deals as well!

Great prices. Very quick and very friendly service! Kid’s menu options. The only reason for 4 stars vs 5– the beans, coleslaw, and pork weren’t as flavorful as I was expecting. The sauces were good but I thought it could have used a bit more flavor.

On our way through in our motor homes, had a great dinner.
Fresh, well priced… chili relleno was great and fajitas delicious and plentiful.
Add a reasonably priced margarita pitcher and you get a full pitcher plus 4 full beginning glasses!

Two of my favorites in one place!
A seemingly traditional tex mex menu adds a page for barbecue fare. Then they explain that they will use any smoked meat to make any menu item… shut the front door. What’s up Kansas City?
Great service with friendly waiters who explained that they make everything from scratch every morning. Original barbecue sauces, great pork, tasty salsa and a really good shrimp soup to boot! Modelo beer on tap, pickled jalapenos and a comfortable, relaxed environment that makes me wanna move closer.

Amazing… must go to this place if your in the area. We always stop by here, great food both mexican and bbq! I love the chips as well. Just know there’s construction right outside there door, so be sure not to bypass it!
