The prices are advertised lower on their website then at the«restaurant». Ordered over the phone to pick up. Spent $ 27 on lunch for two. Brisket was so tough my dog couldn’t eat it. Beans and coleslaw tasted like the stuff you get from the grocery store deli. Worst Bbq ever. I will tell everyone not to eat there

Not sure who voted this place #1 bbq in KC or if just something made up for the billboard. First and last time here for me. Tried a three meat plate, ribs, turkey and pulled pork along with beans, coleslaw and a water. Almost $ 19 for that, wow! Ok, if it’s #1 in KC, it might be worth the $$$. Nope, not even close, I can do better with a smoker or slow cooker at home and charge half or less. Ribs were very rough and dry with weird seasoning, pretty sure they set around for a day or two at least. Turkey was so salty I could barely eat it. Pulled pork was the only thing that was OK but no real flavor. Pretty sure beans were out of can and coleslaw was drenched in mayo. Place looks pretty old and beat up, not too clean either. One other person was in while I went in, maybe there’s a reason or maybe it’s just the winter slow season. Maybe this place use to be good, but no more.

I have been to this place in the past and had always ordered the ribs. But today was a let down. In past visits the ribs were always hugely meaty and I thought well worth the money for what you got. But this time the meat to bone ratio was so low I couldn’t believe it when she set the plate down in front of me. The meat still tasted good, just wasn’t much of it. I ordered the 3 rib dinner which comes with two sides for $ 12.00. Total $ 15.00 including a drink. The first time I visited this place last year I ordered the 6 rib plate to go and thought they put a brick in my bag it was so heavy because of the meatiness of the ribs. It was too much to eat for lunch, so on future visits I ordered the 3 rib dinner, which was still a whole lot to eat. Not the case today and if they are going to stick with the size ribs they served me today, there are places you can get a half rack of 6 that are just as good or better for about the same or less money. It had been a few months since my last visit and maybe now they are ordering smaller racks from their supplier, as the meatier ones got to be too expensive or something, but who knows. Staff is very friendly and the place is nothing fancy, but nice. Sides are decent, but my personal preference is for the beans to be a little smokier.

Ribs were ok, beans & slaw would not order again. Over priced for the quality of the meal. In my opinion no where near the #1 ribs in Kansas City.

These guys are pretty awesome! The food is delicious and the service friendly(and relatively prompt). My issue comes in the pricing. You get about half as much food overall(from meat to sides) as you do at other area establishments at virtually DOUBLE the price. Listing it as a $(low cost) establishment is absolutely misleading. If only they would lower their prices I would frequent this place and give it the rave 5 star review it definitely deserves. Until then, if the prices are high the review is only«ok», and I’ll keep driving out of my way to get Plow Boys.

Pretty good place to get BBQ. Large pulled pork, beans and a water ran $ 12.70, a little high, but it hit the spot. I don’t mind paying for it if it puts a smoky smile on my face. It looks like a tiny little dive, but inside is nice, with plenty of seating, and the staff was nice.

We stopped here while traveling through. The food was awesome! We had ribs, brisket and the Carolina Pork Sandwich. Everything was tasty and the sauces were perfect. Everyone who worked there was super friendly. We will definitely come back when we return to this area.

I love coming to this place!!! Staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and very kind. The food is beyond words!!! I’m a truck driver and I come by here from CA on my way to PA and I never fail to stop here and get some bbq. It’s right next to the Petro so it’s very convenient for truck drivers and even travelers.

Ribs were pretty good. Very tender and flavorful. Sauce and sides were iiiiight at best. Cole slaw was just nasty. Tried two of there sauces. The sweet had a peculiar taste that wasn’t welcome. The hot was the best but not very hot at all and not that good at all. Cooking good ribs is easy in this day and time. It’s what you do with them that counts. On this they fall short. Also WAY! Overpriced!!! Want great BBQ in KC? Oklahoma Joes is your friend.

I’d probably define this place as «Two men and a grill» who came together and decided they going to charge an arm and a leg, literally. *the ribs were drying off my plate — this should not happen! *The brisket was well sliced but the seasoning was not done to perfection *Please bring your own plasticware and a lid for you drink next time you’re ordering to go *The floor was not clean at all. The guy tried to sweep it but still you could see sticking dirt on the floor Please price the place what it’s worth. It’s not a five-star restaurant. I’d imagine they want their customers back because the parking lot was empty

*notice the strange coincidence of the majority of reviewers only having a couple reviews… Ribs were pretty good but everything else was straight out of a can from a food service company –I’m looking at you Sysco foods. Particularly the mac and cheese and beans, not even close to homemade. If they’d put a little love into their sides this COULD be a decent joint, but as is we’ll never return. Also our water glasses originally clear plastic were grossly stained(hopefully) brown. Don’t believe the mega sized billboards about this being #1KC bbq or world class ice cream. Do yourself a favor and keep on trucking.

It is a hole in the wall but don’t let the appearance on the outside scare you off. It is in a small freestanding building with about 7 – 8 tables inside. Order at the counter. Service was great. There were two men who did everything. They were very pleasant, friendly and did everything possible to help us. We ordered a full slab-it was amazing! Two types of sauce, one a bit sweeter and the other had a kick to it. My husband and son had pulled pork sandwiches that they gave high marks. Sides that we tried were the cheesy corn(loved it), potato salad(husband said they were ok) and baked beans(good). It was quick and delicious and a great meal while we were on the road. Try it!

I’m a truck driver and I saw the signs on the interstate for this place after a driver at another location recommend it… Turns out they are really easy to get to since they are directly between the QT Truckstop and the Petro Truckstop. You can also park behind their establishment. The staff was great which included the Proprietor, a nice lady which you can tell takes pride in her place. The baby back ribs were great and so was the pulled pork. They have the smoker outside which grabs you by the nose:) Try the Cheesy Corn as a side. Potato salad was good too.(Little to much mustard for my taste but good and fresh) I’ll definitely stop by again when I come through.

I am a truck driver from Georgia, so Im very partial to Carolina style barbecue. The food was good, service was great. Ordered Carolina style sandwich with two sides. Only complaint, owner wanted to charge me for cole slaw on the side, instead of on the sandwich, as it comes. Potato salad is excellent. Great alternative to Petro.

We’re from Michigan and are huge BBQ fans. The pulled pork sandwich smothered in Cole slaw was great. The sweet sauce was my fave, husband likes the house sauce. We love these tiny places for BBQ in any state!
