We ate here tonight for our anniversary. The wait staff was very nice. We were the first people there at 450pm and they open at 4. So got to pick where we wanted to sit. The pepperoni bacon soup is the best! Very filling and has a creamy texture that’s so yummy. I had the steak and potatoes and am never disappointed. It’s a large serving served with gnocchi. We will be back.

After seeing this restaurant on FoodNetwork my wife and I decided to finally give this spot a try. From the outside its very non assuming, but inside is very nice and ‘modern’. We ordered the Italian nachos as an appetizer, they were ok aside from the soggy chips in the center. I ordered the chicken marsala, it was a huge portion of pasta with very little chicken. What chicken there was was sliced very thin and was dry. The marsala sauce was just missing something. My wife ordered the baked penne and overall that was very good aside from the presentation. We ordered a pizza for our sons which came about 10 minutes after our dinners. The pizza was actually very good, and the crust was excellent. Overall it was kind of disappointing to try a place that was on national television and be let down. Thats the problem with high expectations though. The food was just a tick off from this being a very good spot to eat.

Good pizza, everything else isn’t so good. We haven’t been there since the tv show. The mother can be annoying because she will stop by your table and just start a general conversation and goes on and on. Not sure what her purpose is there other than seating guests and watching tv.

We visited this restaurant last night for the first time — and it will be the first time of may. Every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was great, and the customer service was perhaps the best I’ve received in recent memory. We enjoyed two appetizers(Italian nachos and eggplant rollups), which were both delightful. All three of us ordered the steak for dinner, and it was top notch. What struck us most, however, was the genuine friendliness and warmth of the staff and the environment. Those types of things can make or break an experience, and we can’t say enough about how we were treated while dining here. Highly recommended on all levels — we loved it!

Great food, reasonably priced in a nice atmosphere! I took my wife here for Valentine’s Day dinner — this was our 5th or 6th visit there in the past year. For a unique taste treat, try the«Spicy Lasusa’s» entrée!

Went here on a Wed. Night in Oct. The food… many people know this restaurant starred on Restaurant Impossible, but did you know it may be the only one where Robert said«The food is good, doesn’t need any improvement?» Translation: the food is as good as it could possibly be. It is perfect.
The mushroom soup… if a chef devoted his or her career to creating the best possible mushroom soup and served it only at the peak of flavor, it would taste like this. If a five star restaurant in Paris served this, movie stars would jet in for it. But you can get it here for $ 3 a cup. I had the spicy Mike’s pizza. Perfect!!! Crispy crust, every bit was a wonderful taste. If this restaurant was anywhere else, lines would snake out the door.

Recently moved to the area and found this hidden gem! The servers and bartenders are very friendly and the remodel turned out great. Love the thin crust pizza, the sauce is fantastic. I was a big fan of their weekly specials as well, $ 5 appetizers and some pretty good drink specials also. Definitely a good place for a weeknight out!

The atmosphere was really inviting, the service was polite and timely, and the food was awesome. We will definitely be stopping in again soon :-) The vodka sauce was awesome, would for sure recommend it!

Wonderful food! Pleasantly surprised by the food after reading some reviews. The portions are quite large for the prices. Everything came nice and hot. We went on Mother’s Day and we were only 1 of 2 tables but I understand they are not normally opened on Sunday’s. If you are not local, it is not very convenient to get to. Unfortunately, the area across the street is quite dumpy looking. The building is very cute on the outside and I don’t the Restaurant Impossible did a very good job on the inside. Nothing about it ‘says’ Italian, not that it’s necessary though. It kind of looks like a Harley bar with the orange and black, funky bar stools, and metal around. I would like to see it softened up a bit. Service was good and steady, everything was paced quite well and the server was helpful and pleasant. I didn’t like the Miller Lite coasters for our beverages — those should stay at the bar. The crispiest and thinnest pizza crust I ever had — was wonderful. Also had the mozzarella planks(marinara) and the pepperoni/bacon soup. Both were very good. Bread came to the table with two dipping sauces — marinara and roasted garlic olive oil. Very good! Will definitely go back. Mike is a talented chef, I think he would be more successful in a different location.

We’ve been back twice and everything was great. The service was outstanding. Our servers were right on. The food was excellent, especially the eggplant! Just perfect. No greasiness whatsoever. The pizza was much better than when we visited before. The crust was light and very good. The pasta dishes we tried were excellent as well. I would like to see maybe a few more choices on the menu though.

The restaurant is cute from the outside however when you walk in, it becomes uninviting. There’s a bar on one side and tables throughout with a back room that has tables and booths. There is also this weird counter where beverages are served an it is all cluttered with glassware. That’s the place where the waitress coughed into the glassware, then into her hands then touched the glassware with said hands without washing them in between. The server was nice and friendly and took our order. However, there was a lack of professionalism which made me wonder if she was a relative doing the owner a favor. We had the white wine that was featured and the bruschetta appetizer. They were both very good. For dinner I had a pasta dish and my husband had the chicken marsala. My dish was made with a spicy tomato sauce that had way too much garlic. It was as if the garlic was the stuff from a jar — tons of it dumped into some tomatoes. My husband’s dish was loaded with canned mushrooms. I would call the food barely edible but not worth the price. The general feeling of the restaurant was cold and unfriendly. We were glad we had a coupon so we didn’t feel like we wasted a ton of money.

Let’s be honest: there is only one reason the former M. LaSusa’s wasn’t killing it – location. It’s not just a hidden gem – it’s in nowheresville. The menu was varied, the colors and paintings were beautiful, and the staff was talkative and kind. The Restaurant Impossible visit has changed some things but they can’t take them out of that location. The food is still very good(there’s still a nice variety on the condensed sheet menu), the staff is still outgoing and nice, and the new look is nice… it just wasn’t necessary. My only real negative is the pricing. Each item is $ 1-$ 3 overpriced which, after a family eats there, adds up. Glad I didn’t find a completely different Mike L’s when I got there tonight. Wish you all the best!

This was hands down my favorite local place to eat, but since the latest renovation they did with restaurant impossible I don’t think i will be back. They took away about 50 percent of the menu and everything left now tastes subpar. I will honestly miss the old mike la susa’s.

We were immediately greeted on a Friday night as soon as we walked in. The hostess was funny and gave us different seating choices; either the lovers booth where my DH and I could sit side by side, or at a table for two. Our waitress was friendly enough, but extremely flighty. We never heard the specials, and our appetizer came after our dinner arrived. When we were ready to leave the hostess asked if we wanted more food which leads me to believe that it might have been unlimited fish fry that night. But we had no clue because our waitress didn’t tell us. The food was okay, nothing overly special. The building is quite nice and seems very out of place next to all of the bars.

Mike LaSusa’s is our go to place for our birding group. This past week we had another birthday party there with our small group, and as always the service was fantastic! LaSusa’s makes some of the best pizza in Milwaukee! If you go there, try out The Works. It’s a lot of pizza with everything on it. The workers always has a busy time of it when we bring in our huge group, but they are always very polite and eager to make sure everyone enjoy the time there. I highly recommend Mike LaSusa’s

WOW, this place shocked my. We came in here on a Tuesday night because we heard through word of mouth how good the food is. We were not disappointed at all! First, we found out that on Tuesdays it is half off appetizers, so we started with Italian Nachos(oh my god they were good), fried egg plant and the roll ups. All were great, however the nachos were orgasmic. Also on Tuesdays, they have Penni for $ 5.00 rather then $ 13.95, and I will say, what a deal, I could not finish it and it was sooo Delicious I could have easily spent the $ 13.95 and been happy with that. With a meal, you also get fresh salad with a excellent dressing, fresh bread and soup. I had the cream of mushroom soup, without exaggeration, it was the best cream of mushroom soup I have ever had. I could have had just that for diner and I would have been happy. We did order Tiramasu, but took it to go because we wee so full. If the desert is anything like the other food, I will be happy. The menu also offered Build your own pasta which was a nice option and also family style dishes. Not to many places offer that, and we may take advantage of that next time.

Darn, I wanted to be first to review! That’s what I get for delaying, way to go Alissa! Appetizer: Eggplant Roll Ups — GREAT! Salad: La Susa(w/house cherry citrus vinagrette dressing… and doesn’t say in menu but also gorgonzola cheese) — OMG! IT’S SOOOOOGOOOOD!!! I got it with warm sauteed shrimp, which came out on the side, but that’s ok! They were warm and it was HEAVENLY! Build Your Own Pasta: I choose the Red Pepper Pesto w/veggies — :(not what I expected, I happen to not like cream sauce and I thought this would be an oil based sauce(i.e. pesto — olive oil, basil, parmesan, pine nuts — no?!) but it was very creamy. And the red pepper I mistakenly thought it would be spicy, my bad. Maybe you need to be italian to realize it’s Red BELL Peppers. Again, just so happens I’m not a fan of bell peppers. BUT! It’s my fault! Most people like cream and red bell peppers… I think? Everyday has some sort of really awesome affordable special. Like we’re talking $ 5.(except Sundays where the special is that kids eat free) Happy Hour everyday! From 3pm to 6pm AND10pm to close. Total hidden GEM, people.
