My Dad and I have been here many many times. We don’t come for steak though. I usually have the Salmon and I love that you can choose sweet potatoes as a side. The BBQ Chicken Salad is great as well. My Dad usually has the Chopped Steak or a Bacon Cheeseburger. We love the place. Prices seem to have gone up a bit but that won’t stop us from coming back.

Average food, horrific service. Sat me at a side table, 15 min later the owner motioned for one of the 6 waitresses standing there to bring me a menu. One girl brought one to the table, tossed it at me and huffed as she walked away. He watched, and 5 min later I walked away from the table on dropped the menu on the hostess stand. Owner stood there and said nothing. I waited tables for years, but never treated customers like that. I have eaten here many times before due to proximity to my hotel on business… never again.

Service was excellent! My wife and I both had burgers, and they were pretty darn good! The fries that came with the burgers weren’t anything special, but they were good steak fries. My wife tried the black bean soup, which she really liked. It looked a lot like chili. I tasted it and thought it was dull, but I like spicy stuff. Just different tastes there. No problems with this place, and we’d eat here again.

Ate there with my girlfriend last Friday night, like everyone has stated before me here in reviews, our server was very nice. The food however is very fatty for lack of a better adjective. My chicken enchilada was smothered in cheese, almost couldn’t tell there was anything under the cheese. As a result the dish was fairly bland and just saturated, swimming in cheese. I received a very small plastic cup of salsa and another very small plastic cup of sour cream, not enough salsa given for the amount of food on the plate. The Chicken Enchilada’s really need salsa, also comes with rice and beans. My girlfriends meal also looked fatty and bland. Salad was iceberg lettuce with a saucer of salad dressing on the side. Onion ring or haystack onions were not crispy enough. If you’re looking for a high fat content meal this is the place… Atmosphere was okay, felt a little like a sports bar with restaurant.

I’ve been driving by for years just never stopped but did tonight with my son for a quick bite. Was a bit early so the place wasn’t crowded at all this many of the staff were just lounging around. I had the Philly Cheesesteak with the steak fries. Fries were great and fresh. The sandwich was ok… nothing spectacular though. My son had a seafood linguini dish he enjoyed. He also has the chicken enchilada soup which we were told they are famous for and he gave it a thumbs up. Menu had a good variety as well. Only negative I saw is I though it was a bit pricey but that is probably more due to my expectations walking into the place. We sat at tables in the bar area which had tv’s.

I’m impressed. I guess this is a local Milwaukee chain. I hadn’t heard of it before. The price to quality ratio is outstanding. For a chain especially… this is good stuff. The rotisserie potatoes are worth the price of admission. My chicken was delish… they cooked the family’s steaks perfectly and they were quite tasty. The menu runs the gamut from healthy to frivolously decadent. It’s much better than Outback Steakhouse.

Best steak place close to home not that we would not drive further to get to the Branded Steer. Friendly staff and our waitress was very attentive.(Kelsea) Also been here for brunch that is also very good. Good selection of beers and nice and cold.

Went there for breakfast, it was great. The service was fantastic, thanks Kelsea! I had the Western Skillet, substituted the Cheddar for Monterey Jack and it was totally fantastic. Eggs done over medium to perfection and loved the Texas toast. My husband had 2 eggs over medium, perfectly done, hash browns, asked for extra crispy and they were done to perfection. The entire serving of hash browns was crispy, not like other places that are crisp only on the outside. And the bacon… crispy and yummy he said(he did not share) Good decaf coffee and great orange juice. Prompt service, checked on us the perfect amount of times and spaced perfect. I will definitely be back for a weekend breakfast(I need to try that bacon)

Had lunch with wifey. The Cobb salad was delish, with tasty grilled chicken. Quite large feast for a queen. Sides of grilled veggies and mushrooms smelled so good and tasted even better. Very sweet server and polite host. Gotta come back for dinner and try the BBQ. Very good pick. Nice big bar area.

I stopped in(it was close to my hotel). Was warm inside while below zero outside. That’s where the good ended. Ordered a beer, then they were out of it. Asked for a different one, and then the barkeep had to come and tell me All about porters, and their history. Bar area was horribly loud, with an obnoxious group(including barkeep and an owner?) talking(bellowing) the whole time I was there. Owner yelling loudly about someone mixing wine with something… he just could not let it go. Dinner was ribeye… well it was supposed to be a ribeye… was most probably a sirloin. Chewy and fatty throughout. This was the first time I could not wait to be back into the cold air during my whole Wisconsin trip. I will not be back next time in town.

Just left this place… Seated fast but they must not have seen me sitting at the table as they walked past me about 10 – 12 times… and NEVER stopped to get my order! After sitting for 15 min and being ignored I got up and left. I’m in this area a week a month but I won’t stop back here. If your hungry I would go down to the Oak Creek Diner they are more attentive to customers when they sit down at a table.

Went in here for lunch. Great burger, great price, great service! Had my food in 10 minutes. They say express lunch and they mean it! Highly recommended! Going to try it for dinner one night and post a review for that too. But if dinner is anything like lunch was, it’s going to be exceptional!

Poor atmosphere. Bland food. Decent service. Price for steak commensurate with much classier places — glad I passed. Steak. Fajitas had no flavor. Service was 50⁄50 — our order didn’t get processed — server claimed it was an IT error. She made it right by comping the meal. Would not go back.

I will never go back. The baked cod was so overcooked it was tough as shoe leather. Apparently their«cook» is not a «chef». And it was WAYOVERPRICED. The bread was good but service took way too long. Lots of people were there drinking, but paying too much. Save your money, get a better meal elsewhere.

Ate dinner here last night. Waitress was very sweet and patient with us. Suggestion on steak ordering. order it less done then you really want. Ribeye was thin and M was a soft pink throughout. Dinner salads were huge and very good. Beer nice and cold. bread delicious. Not fault of resturant but our booth was next to 3 men who didn’t realize their F word conversation carried, at least I will give them the benefit of doubt. solid restaurant. not great and wouldn’t really suggest you go there but if you are staying in one of the nearby hotels, very convent.

We ended up at this place on Father’s Day mainly because the slow players at the golf course put me two hours behind schedule and our family breakfast turned into a family late lunch/early dinner. Significant wait times or not yet open for dinner at our preferred restaurants caused us to look for an alternative. I recalled there was a steak place on 13th, checked the menu and figured we’d give it a try. I should have listened to my instinct when we pulled into an empty parking lot and most of the staff was out front, either smoking or texting. But, we were hungry and needed to eat. Most places have pros and cons so I will list them and allow you to decide. Pros: our waitress was very polite and attentive. The artichoke dip and French onion soup were decent. End of pros. Cons: the«steak» was horrible! The texture and consistency leads me to believe this meat was either frozen at one point and then thawed and held for a long time or even re-frozen again, was vacuum sealed in a leaky bag or was just terrible quality to begin with. The Porter House and Sirloins were all terrible. No flavor, dry and with a livery texture. My drink was severely watered down(ordered another glass of straight liquor just to pour into the cocktail I ordered to make a regular drink; for those of you in the biz: a Manhattan should not look like a gimlet!) side note: the manager(owner?) seemed to be doing laps around the place in his little blue convertible… strange but entertaining. He passed our window at least 4 times while we are. Maybe the watered down drinks are what bought him his toy, because the place sure didn’t get any busier as time went on. My verdict: Will not be returning here. Period. If I’m ever desperately hungry in this area again, there is a Mc Donald’s right across the street who’s sirloin burger is better than the steak I had here. A good cocktail and a great steak can be found in fine establishments all over our fair city but the Branded Steer is not one of them. As stated I have to emphasize that our waitress was great. A shame for her to be wasting away in this place. My advice for her is this: run, while you still can!!! Take any competent members of the staff with you and go somewhere that has a future! I can’t see this place making it.

Dinner was great, breakfast was awful. I ate dinner at the bar. The bartender was attentive, the food was great, the steak was excellent(to those that complain about price, this is what good beef costs). I had read the bad reviews and it seems the owners had as well. The bar manager seemed like a real pro. In the morning, service was good but the chorizo omelet had zero spice and was dry as a bone, the pancakes were also tasteless and the hash browns were like burnt cotton.

I let myself be talked into the Steer because it was super close to the hotel and we didn’t really feel like taking a long drive. It was a mistake. The steaks here are outrageously priced and if the burger is any indication, not worth it for taste either. My burger, which I ordered medium rare arrived closer to medium well. The chili on top of it was bland and wet, there was not nearly enough cheese. The fries had a good flavor but needed more time in the fryer to get crispy. The only saving grace here was the beer. Spotted Cow on draft. Good stuff. Will not return.
