Very cool place, excellent food. Get the brussel sprouts and the steak tartare. Both among the best of my life. Definitely call ahead and make a reservation. If you’re in Oak Bluffs, don’t skip this place.

It was a dinner for five I was with and as soon as we arrived to the restaurant they seated us. It’s a small place will awesome décor. The cocktails were very well made but the wait staff was not very informative on that or the entrees. I had the fried chicken and it was amazing. It came with a savory watermelon salad and cornbread. We also has a lobster salad for a appetizer was light and fresh.

This is hands down the best restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard from a food perspective. The chef, who also works at the nearby Ritz during the off-season. is fantastic. We’ve been there about four times now(and three more at the Ritz) and every meal we’ve had has been really good. Even dishes I don’t normally care for are great. Brussel Sprouts… yuck, you say? Not here… give them a try you’ll be looking for a second order. The restaurant is small and informal. The service has always been very good.

We loved Red Cat, from the relaxed, kitschy décor, friendly, welcoming, helpful service from Pam to the food. Cocktails in mason jars, a seasonal menu that can changes daily, amazing vegetarian options & no pretension makes this a winner for us. The real stand out for me was the veggie plate that was actually 5 small dishes, all delicious, We highly recommend a meal here & can’t wait to return.

Who knew Brussel sprouts could taste this great? We had the paella special and the rack of lamb. First rate food and Giulia gave great service as well. It’s a must visit if you come to Martha’s Vineyard!

My wife and I went here for dinner on Saturday and were really looking forward to it after all the positive reviews but it definitely disappointed on multiple levels. AMBIANCE(pro) The décor/ambiance is definitely funky but the food is not that great — basically glorified cafeteria food in my opinion. SERVICE/STAFF(con) The staff was nice enough to call and see if we wanted to come in 30 mins earlier than our reservation since they said a table would be available. We got there 30 mins early and were told to wait at the bar(which we did for 30 mins) — what’s the point of telling us to get there earlier if you aren’t going to have the table. Also, they didn’t even apologize about that and just told us to eat at the bar if we wanted to. FOOD(con) We started off with Island Fresca soup and were totally not impressed at all. It’s basically diced tomatoes in corny water — zero flavor and we actually found a piece of plastic in the soup. For our mains we had chicken and steak — again nothing to write home about and basically tasted like cafeteria food. We went to plenty of other places that were much better on the island — if you are in Oak Bluffs, go to 20byNine which was AWESOME on all accounts(food/staff/ambiance) or go to L’Etoile or Behind the Bookstore in Edgartown — we enjoyed those a lot more.

We called days in advance and followed the instructions provided on the reservation line. No response regarding our reservation request despite 3 calls and 3 messages on different dates. Cute! We were seated, cocktails served, order taken and a full hour later, the chef/owner comes out with a major attitude and tells of 3 of the 4 items we ordered were no longer available. Why it took an hour to figure that out is a thing only a complete idiot could manage. No solutions were offered. No apologies. Just attitude. Then the prick tells us that if we wish, we can leave. Really? Rude ass.

Fun & upbeat atmosphere. The brussels sprouts were heavenly. I ordered swordfish and my partner had fried cod – both were delicious(though pricey). We washed it all down with the East Chop lemonade and a dark & stormy. Very tasty. Expect a different menu from what’s online, for sure. There weren’t a ton of choices, but everything appealed to me so that wasn’t an issue at all. The atmosphere might not appeal to everyone, but I enjoyed it a lot. The staff seemed to be in good spirits. I’d love to go back sometime and try the chef’s tasting course.

All I will day is have the Chef’s menu! We chose three courses to taste. Plus we had to have the flash fried Brussels sprouts! OMG! Best thing ever! Then we had scallops, calamari and pork dumplings! All highly recommended and so much fun in anticipation! Can’t wait to return.

Had dinner here while visiting Oak Bluffs at the suggestion of our Inn Keeper. The atmosphere is great in this place. It’s funky, eclectic, and very rock n roll. If you get nothing else at this place, GETTHEBRUSSELSSPROUTS! They were amazing. We begged for the recipe but got no satisfaction there. I can’t stop thinking of those Brussels sprouts. I also want to add that the waitress was super friendly and attentive and had great patience as we pried her for the recipe and begged for a second bottle of wine. There is also a little bar area that plays movies and looks to serve some great cocktails. Finally… dessert. They had a cupcake with buttercream frosting and a chocolate dipped marshmallow on top. I nearly died. Go there! It is a little pricey but it is worth it. That’s what vacations are all about.

The wife and I stopped in here after finding out it had the #1 rating in Oak Bluffs. First off, the menu was modified from what was online, and on the scant side. They didn’t have the 3 dishes that I saw that I would have ordered. We punted with the white fish, risotto, shrimp dish. Way overpriced, but very good. Our waitress Anna was awesome, so friendly and amazing. She made the trip and eased my frustration. I’d go back when the menu was a bit more full.

This was the best meal that I had on the island when i was there. Although, nearly everything I ate on the island was good, I felt that this place embraced the inventiveness that I am used to in the Bay Area but highlighting the delicacies of the Vineyard. We ordered the Cranberry Margaritas for our drinks. I liked the tartness that the cranberries brought to the table. Very good, but did not make my eyes roll back in my head. Needed salt. Lobster salad on fried tomato — amazing. tomato was so crispy and delicious. Avocado purée and lobster salad added moisture and flavor. The curry oil brought it all together Brussels Sprouts — Crispy, delicious goodness. Some of the best I have had. Fried chicken with ham jam and corn and waffle pudding — wasn’t really seeing what was waffl-y about it, but it tasted great with the chicken. Fried chicken was also delicious. Cod with squid — On top of potatoes. There was also some corn salad soup thing. The cod was delicious. Perfectly cooked and flaky and moist. The little squids on top were nice and crispy and added a nice textural contrast. There was a lot going on in this dish and I wanted to not like it, but it all worked somehow. Onion rings — Perfect. They were like a better version of the«onion loaf» type of onion rings. Service was excellent. Waitresses were attentive and upbeat. Place was hip, which was something I was missing during my time on the island.

I don’t know of many foodie options on the Vineyard. Red Cat goes well beyond the troves of clam bars and lobster rolls. We dined from the 57th menu of the year with surf and shire delights enough to please anyone who enjoys creative presentations of the freshest food.

Probably the best restaurant on the island. They do really interesting things with local produce and fish. Their onion rings should not be missed and you definitely want the«Island Fresca» a Parmesan soup with island corn, tomatoes, and basil. One great dish includes the Fresca over mashed potatoes, chorizo and local blue fish. I had the«Vegetable Showdown: Come and get me Motherfu$&”&er» last time. All the food was interesting, although there were a few missteps. Included delicious steamed carrots, spicy fried banana peppers, great corn risotto, and two misses: a salad with smoked tomatoes(tasted more like kerosene than bacon) and a slightly mushy street corn on the cob. Also, I’m not sure that two of the five needed sriracha sauce. Still the best nonetheless.

Oh my dear God, what a fun find. We arrived at 6 to a line waiting to get in. We were settled into a window side two top in the porch. It was cramped for my 6’3″ boyfriend but we made due thanks to a super friendly waitress, the best bread and EVOO and a chill vibe. We shared a stuffed lobster special that was insane. We are still not convinced it was worth 48.00 but it was tasty. Give it a go, it was delish.

Adorable little house serving tasty(but really pricey!) food. This was easily our most expensive meal on the Vineyard(with only 1 beer each), and I’m not entirely sure it was worth it? To start, our table of 4 shared the tempura beans(tasty) and the crispy brussle sprouts(lick-the-plate delicious). My $ 32 pork chop with onions, asparagus, and pistachio jus was large, well-seasoned, and quite good(I wish it had been cooked a tiny bit less, but the end result was still juicy). The boy’s $ 28 fried chicken with potato salad and watermelon was some of the most flavorful and moist fried chicken I’ve had. The parents got the $ 40-something dollar special, a choice of 3 types of freshly-caught fish over risotto and lobster salad, which they were really happy with. All of us left the table full and satisfied with our food and the experience, but the check really put a dent in our wallet, and I felt like I’ve been just as happy with other dinners that have cost a lot less. Maybe the $ ain’t no thang to all the elite wealthy Edgartown-types who summer on the Vineyard, in which case they probably leave really happy and eat here regularly, but for us workin’ class folks, it’s best to save this place for a special occasion, or when a rich friend is footing the bill.
